I ride the bus becaue it's cheaper than a car. In St. Louis, if a bus is dirty, and did not get cleaned, the people in the shop hears about it from their supervisors and gets written up or somtimes fired! The girl stating about people on the bus talking on a cell phone, well I rather see people talking on a cell phone while riding rather than driving.

but Toronto,Ontario it is fun to see odd people.

This was completely sarcastic right? All of the reasons cited on why I should ride the bus sound more like reasons why I should not ride the unreliable, dirty, smelly bus! I hate the bus and love my car (although I feel guilty for contributing to global warming)!

@sulz1234 I am an ambassador for Metro at the airport. And yes when I began my volunteering for the transit company 18 years ago, I have seen HUNDREDS of complaints similar to what you are talking about. And we take those complaints seriously! And I have been on the shop people about not doing thier job right in keeping the buses clean. It not as reliable compaired to the days of public transit during the 1940s when many bus routes tied in with the streetcar lines.

houston public transportation is awful.

while the drivers can be some great people riding the metro can be characterized as:

infrequent, unreliable, class-biased, etc.

I ride the bus and the tram in Bielefeld, Germany and I see a range of people whereas in Baltimore USA I remember being the only white guy on the bus and also the person over 15 or under 70. That was a weird experience.
