There IS a wind - and it's blowing into the berth. It needed liberal use of the bow-thruster to stop the bow being blown off to starboard. Nothing wrong with using the thruster though.
I laugh at the ones that say using a bow thruster is cheating. been sailing for 35 years and if I'm on a boat with a joystick and thrusters I'm going to use it.
@HuskerSeaofRed OK.... I don't really know how the bass boat in Alabama figures in to all of this, but he still had 3 deck hands, no current, no wind, and bow thrusters. Forrest Gump could have docked that thing.
@26PEARSON Why are you so critical about the video? They never said they were studs, just a perfect mooring which it is. There was no wind and calm waters so should they drop the sail to dock and pick up some speed to fuck it up? Kind of hard to find fault with them causing the calm wind and smooth waters. So with three guys they should get it right and did. So...

Actually did you hear the noise as he approached the slip on his aft port side? That sounded like he clipped the side of the slip. But I am not against thrusters, wish I had me..
Very nice! As someone else said, every landing that ends well is a success! Thrusters are here to help, I think they are great. Not only for the bow, but also for the stern, I am very much interested in getting these installed.
far from perfect and bow thrusters are for people who cant steer a boat commercial use yes but for yachts no no its like having powered lifting of the sails takes all the fun out of sailing all ok until they dont work!

@elgrande99 There's a little propeller in the front called a bow thruster and it can make a boat go in almost any direction at low speeds.
