Billy was a great guy. I had the pleasure of knowing him while he was living in Calgary, Alberta Canada during the late 90's/early 00's. His involvement with the local Calgary music scene is how we initially met. He was loved here by many, and was a true talent. Seeing him play many times with his Calgary band The Co-Dependents was a real treat.
Come to think of it, I actually still have a sealed vinyl copy of The Cowsills LP "The Best of the Cowsills". Perhaps it's time I opened it ;)
Thank you so very much for the wonderful memories. I really enjoyed watching The Cowsills develope their own style. Bills strong clear voice touched me deeply. The only thing left now is to find a way to get The Cowsills inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame where they belong. Many children's band have come and gone since they took the stage on The Ed Sullivan Show back in the 60's. But they were the first. And being their uncle makes me very very proud!
Hello uncle! Thanks for writing. You are so... right. I totally agree that the Cowsills definitely need to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. As far as I can determine, the music industry never did do Billy many favors. He was such a huge talent, as is Susan and the others. Another super huge musical influence of mine, besides Billy, was Doug Sahm. He too is not in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
All of your nephews and niece were and still are very special. I am seeking out music from the 60's and 70's and they were one of my favs then. Bill had such a great clear, pure voice... gone too soon but I think heaven is richer and more interesting with him and Barry there.
Thank you so much for doing this tribute to Bill! He was one of the most incredible musicians/human beings I know of. I have all of his music but seeing videos of him have been few and far between. I am really glad that people are posting these here, they are absolutely priceless! Bill's memory will live on through his music !
Thanks, Debra. What a lovely tribute to an enormous talent that everybody misses a lot. I wish Billy were still among us. I'm glad this music is available on your CD.
Thanks for posting...from Newport RI to The Co Dependents, he was the one. I had the previlage of meeting him in 2000 and the was so nice. Signed all my LP's and told me all about them...we all miss him.
I still dream about Billy! He will always be in my heart!

I do not have much respect for that organization!

Billy is singing the harmony. Oh how I wish we had
done more recording together. He is so awesome
with his strong acoustic guitar rhythm also. Thanks
for your comments. Cheers.
