Seriously, F-zero GX has some of the hardest characters to unlock in video game history. You don't just have to be good at the game to get AX chars, you have to be PROFESSIONAL at the game...
Is it possible that this guy is, in fact, Captain Falcon from the future? In his biography on the game it's written that he's a policeman (I mean, there's a more perfect job for the Captain?) who fights against criminals who travel in time. The resemblance with the two of 'em it's obvious, so why not? Maybe he had to come back to stop, somehow, Deathborn, because he actually won in the first timeline in F-Zero GX. In this way, he changed the past. Yeah, I love conspiracy theories.
When I was really good in that game a long time ago I beat the first chapter on very hard after 60 tries I gues.....and 1 year later my mem-card crashed and all was lost...
I think that was somewhere 2002 or 2003....and I haven't get Phoenix back since then, because I'm not good in that game anymore..
If you beat the GP with Phoenix, asking a certain question will have him respond that he "learned racing techniques from a great racer of this century who taught him all his secrets" or something like that.
I really want to get an action replay, so I can get everything in the game and the AX Stuff. Try getting it through normally, It's fucking INSANE!!!!! Also unless you live near or have the AX Arcade machine good luck getting AX Content, it's even more crazy!!!!! Good game but DAMN Nintendo why the fuck did you guys turn up the difficulty!?

@MikeArcade07 The thing about GX/AX Sega did most of the development, Nintendo just published it and made sure it was a playable game. As for on the 3DS or Wii U, it needs to happen simply because F-Zero was made for online play XD. Or at least LAN like mario kart double dash had.

I couldn't. I went through hell just trying to beat it on Hard when I was around 13 or so. Then I played Very Hard like ten times and I was like "that's it, I'm done." I sold the game a couple of years ago, so I never got a chance to play as Phoenix. Thank God for emulators.
@Daikaiju92 Well i never gave up and i eventually was able to beat all the story modes on Very Hard but that was only with the help of looking for videos to make life easier on the levels and i Uhm *cough* Snaked *cough*

side note: I was patient enough to unlock all the AX characters... toughest one had to be chapter 7 (The F-Zero Grand Prix). I eventually beat it the "non-snake" way. Later I went on to unlock all the F-Zero pilot vids... and that's when I stopped playing.
It is very hard to unlock Phoenix, but it is definitly worth it. I did it and it was worth all the torture you have to go through. One of the best unlockables in all video games.

Here's a list of Machines/Characters of how to unlock AX on very-hard mode in Falcon's storyline: 1-Rainbow Phoenix- Phoenix 2-Spark Moon- Princia 3-Rolling Turtle- QQQ 4-Fat shark- Don 5-Cosmic Dolphin- Digi boy 6-Silver Rat- Diagoroh 7-Pink Spider- Dai, San, Gen 8-Bunny Flash- Lily 9-Groovy Taxi- PJ TIP: Magic Seagull is easy to unlock if you beat all storylines on hard mode
funnily enough, he was the first AX racer I ever unlocked. I know the rest of the storyline should've been easier after I unlocked him.. but I'm still stuck on mission bloody seven :S

hmm I had a farely easy time with death bouren...I actually passed it the first time i got to it..the trick it to hit the bombs on the first lap so you get the small boosts that it gives you... theres enough energy things to replace your lost life and stuff :3
not really put top speed all the way up there arent any walls to hit so it doesnt matter if it takes long to speed up and the grand prix is the only one i havent beat ive beat all the 5 cup on master and all the chapters except the grand prix so dont tell me it isnt hard

lol i had a gamshark at the time i had this game so i used that. but i had that on a seperate memory card so i can have everything and see what everything was like. plus so all my friends have a wide selection of pilots besides the first couple rows. but when i worked for it i had all but deathbourn. :/

Deathborn, 2 my knowledge, wasn't an AX racer. U earned him by beatin' da last level of da story mode. All da other AX racers, yeah, u earned completin' da missions on Very Hard.
its probably easier travelling around the world to a AX machine that's probably defective and play that instead

hmm I had a farely easy time with death bouren...I actually passed it the first time i got to it..the trick it to hit the bombs on the first lap so you get the small boosts that it gives you... theres enough energy things to replace your lost life and stuff :3

not really put top speed all the way up there arent any walls to hit so it doesnt matter if it takes long to speed up and the grand prix is the only one i havent beat ive beat all the 5 cup on master and all the chapters except the grand prix so dont tell me it isnt hard

any way, i'd completed the game 100%, so i know waths hard and wath not............any way, chap. 1, 5, 8 and 9 on very hard are EXTREME HARD, and not very hard XD

lol i had a gamshark at the time i had this game so i used that. but i had that on a seperate memory card so i can have everything and see what everything was like. plus so all my friends have a wide selection of pilots besides the first couple rows. but when i worked for it i had all but deathbourn. :/

thats not passible wath your sayin, you do unlock the AX racers be doin story mode chapters on veryhard, and you cant do very hard before beating it on easy

Deathborn, 2 my knowledge, wasn't an AX racer. U earned him by beatin' da last level of da story mode. All da other AX racers, yeah, u earned completin' da missions on Very Hard.
