lol wth u show the focus view finder for the tokina...but not the nikon. cant see the speed of it to compare. cuz one is qualitative and the other is quantitative :/

Thanks for doing this review, I've been wanting a wide angle lens for my D700 for a while now and of course the 14-24 is on the short list. At half the price the Tokina is tempting.

I'd love to see a review of a Zeiss 21 f/2.8 or 35 f/2 - f/1.4 if you have the means to borrow one. :D

I own the 14-24mm and the focus speed and accuracy is spot on. Even in extremely low light conditions it doesn't hunt for a focus lock. It is that amazing. But it is pricey, but I dump the cash in and never looked back since. As far as the distortion goes it is not an issue to me. Just use it to your advantage to create a different look of things that cannot be done with other lenses.

Matt after having tested both lens, in your work flow, if you were buying an UW today would you purchase the Tokina or Nikon? Why?

@4DSquad tough question... I didnt use the TOkina extensively, but it is nice. If on budget, is certainly a great option.

Thanks for this video. Definitly thinking about the Tokina as an "opponent" for the Canon 17-40mm L USM I wanted to buy. Wasn't sure about the AF-Speed but it seems really fast (faster than other lenses I currently use). Thank you for this great video and rock on!

I am using Olympus 12-60mm SWD and 12mm (24mm) is satisfying my wide angle need. Considering I used to just carry 3 small primes (28, 50, 100) with a Minolta X-700 for about 5 years, the current 24mm isn't too bad. I also used to own a full set of Tokina 'pro' lenses with N90s including a 300mm f/2.8.

@thatnikonguy I did not embrace digital slr until 2008 when I bought a used Oly E-1. I really liked E-1 and bought E-3 later. Prior to that, my love was compact easy to carry but great glass Minolta manual MD lenses and before that I bought used Nikon gears and had good memories with them mostly with Tokina lenses.
