  • Impressive.

  • Very theatrical. A great show.

  • @suddenlychops No show – pure skill.

  • Great push hand technique! Thanks for sharing this video.

  • Check out Gary lam Taiji. Second clip have push hand demo. My master tause me out like this. I realy don't understand why always people think Taiji master faking it. They realy need better teacher to teach them. I only learn 6 years I can do some of this. I feel as long as bigger gap of level in between both side it will happen. I did on some of my friend who have 20 years Shao lin and another practice 20 years white crane. When they try to push me by hard upper body force.

  • who is the other guy being thrown about?

is there more to this video i would like to see some material on this sifu, good upload!!!!

  • very funny "georgehsliew" i always wondered how can one get so good at pushing without practise with people, there is a lot that is not being taught- how can man have peace with others if he is only one enforcing it.

"culebrasty" very interesting comment about the false door and the connection with wrestling and taiji , thank you!

  • This is "Bulldozer" Wang Qingsheng, resident of Zhaobao village. I met him there in 2008; he's the real deal and a thoroughly decent person too. Zhaobao and Chen villages are having a spat at the moment over their respective interpretations of taiji history (SIGH), but the two styles are broadly similar. Nice video.

  • 师父摔徒弟作假历来是太极门的长项!

  • lol, ok really it seems to me he is a chen stylist because i reconize the first move its a counter to rollback or lu it seems he is using jing from shoulder called dragon sways tail.......last technique is called strike chest with standing elbow... so what do you know dldc68 about my style, lol your an idiot!!

  • lol, ok really it seems to me he is a chen stylist because i reconize the first move its a counter to rollback or lu it seems he is using jing from shoulder called dragon sways tail.......

  • Shopperman you are an idiot!

  • I would get my gun come back and shoot that guy!

  • @shopperman2007

He might have his gun ready before you come back. lol

    Thanks for sharing!

  • 這是實力有差距的練習推手 弱者倒地 如果 實力有差距 然後弱者又硬來 全身的骨頭有幾個都不夠斷 片發勁者 真功夫也

  • Thank you

  • does anyone have the full video on this post more if you have it .

  • One of the more genuine push hand demonstration that I have seen.

  • what a fucking game! not real !

  • 王老師傅果然厲害。

  • This is one of my favorite push hands vids. Yujirosan, boku no nihongo ga sugoku warui desu kedo yoroshiku onegai shimasu, motto video ga areba, upload-shite onegai-itashimasu. Kono video sugoku suki desu yo! Wakai hito wa Yujirosan desu ka?

  • THX a lot!!! :-)

  • Really good.

Does anybody know, who this master is?

  • nice!

  • In Chinese language, I guess push hands make more sense. Since the action seems like two guys pushing hands. Another thing is that if you name it in english "pull hands", translate into Chinese it misinterpret as "holding hands" I think. This makes it sound quite odd and funny...hahaha

  • In pushing hands, it is not up to one's power to simply just opt out or avoid getting thrown. This is because both party's "force" is already within the circle. To simply let go or move away, will only let the other opponent have a chance to follow up and attack you. To attack, the one who is softer, will be able to dissolve the attacking force, and direct it back at the person.

  • The term "Push hands" should be named "Pull Hands". Using your mind to project imaginary lines by passing your opponent's body(not thru body", your opponent is being pulled from behind; from an infinite distance. Initially, the imaginary lines or circles are yin and your body is yang. As soon as your body becomes yin , these imaginary lines become yang. Opponent will be off balance; being pulled.

  • Muy bueno.

  • I thought taichi was just an exercise for better health. Now I realize it could be so powerful if you know how.

  • He dosent have to let himself get thrown like that... he can just take a couple of steps back. But it looks better i guess if one flies a little through the air!

  • oh man oh man oh man... what a video, this guys power reminds me of Higaonna of goju ryu, this is great, anyone tha' ts not impressed is just going to have to feel it for themselves. I have been given a light shoulder tap and sent across the schools floor about 35 feet , running backwards trying my damnest to not fall on my cocxys and then not run into the shrine at the other end of the floor... .. this is a beautiful find and i wish I could download it and save it,,,

  • Nonsense. Taijiquan is the manipulation of imbalances of the environment in order to create the forces of nature, to the practitioner's advantage. Harmony/balance is purposely broken in order to generate the necessary force to neutralise the opponent's attack. That's why all the forms starts and ends with the wuji stance. if u directly translate it from chinese, wuji refers to a state of rest, while taiji actually refers to a dynamic state.

  • the true meaning of taiji is being in harmony with yourself and nature. taiji is like a tornado. when an object goes in it, it will be tossed far awawy.you use your opponents strength and lead it to a different direction.

  • It's still garbage.

  • this is all very real and purely natural

  • i guess you first need to experience the energy of soft styles before appreciating rare footage of it in videos such as this one. adding to the list of soft styles would be wing chun too.

  • Oh, & i wldn't say that taijiquan is based on the concepts of Taoism, but rather heavily influenced by it. In fact, chinese martial arts are heavily influenced by Taoism, Confucianism, and Buddhism, which we all collectively refer to them as Chinese Culture. Philosophy aside, martial arts is simply the refinement of fighting to the point of eliminating all conflict. that's wat the "wu" in "wushu" means. Btw, in case u're wondering, i do speak & write chinese.

  • well, a long time ago, it was all collectively called- taoism. there was little to no differentiation unlike today. its great internal strength results from this idea of Unity. ie- its unique ability to sink chi is what gives it its great power- when one sinks chi, when the chi penetrates the bone- the person will become STRONGER than steel as the classics say. and this is the highest level of taiji there is no other way to achieve this, just sink chi, relax, and learn to listen.

  • And the idea of 'wuwei' is very prevalant in taiji- Able but has no intent. and such a concept is vital to taiji, i could list out some reasons why, but its impossible to list every reason since the classics have a very deep meaning to them. simply put- Tension is the enemy of the Senses, Mobility, Freedom, and Life. The amount of Intent you have results in the amount of Tension you have. hence- we must seek to eliminate this threshold of intent

  • Taijiquan has nothing to do with "being one with the Universe". It was morihei ueshiba, founder of aikido, who came up with the concept. Tajiquan original name was chenjiaquan, which means Chen Family Style Fist. The reason why it was renamed taijiquan becoz there's extremities of high & low stances, big & small movements, etc. Taji means "most extreme" in english, & is refering to the concept of yin/yang.

  • Unity is what gives taiji its power. when one sinks chi to the dantien, one lowers his CG (center gravity)- rooting. this results from/in unifying ones chi with ie the ground. with this unity, one can easily withstand a thousand push/pull/kick/punch and not tense/collapse.

  • He is very relaxed on the shoulder and waist, Look at him , always keep the head and spine erect from tip to tail, chest empty (i.e. relaxed and slightly concave, never stuck out) Zhao Bao form is good at small frame.

  • you could also then imbue F=MA and other physics equations to better understand this unity and power. ie- since you lower your CG and are unified with ie the ground, then you have increased "mass" so require little speed or acceleration. this is the reason for taiji's ability to discharge in a few milimeters. you can also work in various other factors-

  • by itself, this internal strength can allow one to withstand 100 punches/kicks and even stay rooted when pushed by someone(s) bigger+"stronger" because he is "one with universe". The "martial" aspect is only a side effect of taiji. Unlike external art which leave bruises, cuts, and attack the superficial, taiji gets Deep into the opponent root. And guys, in case you havnt noted, taiji is based much on concepts of Taoism.

  • taiji is about TRUE UNITY- "become one with universe". that is where internal power come from- it surpass all physical power+muscle. push-hand is about learn to listen- when you learn to relax and letgo then you will develop this power- jin. taiji is about Yielding, not defending, and not attacking. it neither collapses, nor tenses, just Relaxes

  • I have a much tighter definition of wuji and taiji on my blog "Weakness with a Twist" under the title 'what does taiji mean?' I'd love your opinion.

  • Cloud, you're right about Taijiquan being mostly embraced by the new age set. There's also a new interest among seniors. That said, there is REAL martial skill in this art. It's not widespread, but those that have the goods are far more impressive than you imagine. Taijiquan, Xingyi, and Baqua are all related, and at high levels, quite fierce.

  • np, but its not so much as the mindset as it is the peopel flocking to the arts. Most athletic/fighters flock to MT/BJJ/MMA because there might actually be a profit in it (competitions) and also a good excuse to go fight at the local bar (and win immediately). Taiji is often embraced nowdays with new-age crowd,or experienced MA artists who are older. Also most taiji ppl can be dellusional, takes alot of guts to apply it realistically.

  • This is better... a good show of whole body power... watch that guy bounce away... and better still, he's not jumping arround like an idiot as seen on some clips. AND ThaiboxerKen... you obviously know nothing.

  • Hey all...actually sometimes i also wish to see taichi being used in real combat. But like what akirahojo said, usually chinese martial artists, they practice for self-defence and health purpose, not really bcuz they want to prove they are good.

In any case, i do believe taichi is a good self-defence martial art useful in self defence. Sometimes, people who claim that taichi are for "show" only, may be the real ignorant ones themselves really...

  • This is Master Wang Qingsheng in Zhaobao town .

  • Cool clip. Thanks for posting that. Cloud0123, I agree with what you're saying. I want to see Taiji being used against MMA. My friend told me the greatest obstacle of doing this is the mental attitude of Taiji practitioners. That is they strive for peace not violence. So pushing hands is already considered as violent as it goes.

  • haha, bullshido member strikes again. Sorry its not MMA enough, next time put some flying arm bars and ground n'pound. Guarantee you then Thai Boxer Ken will praise it for all its worth. Hurray for internet warriors and ignorance in the martial arts.Taiji pepople need to stop doing push hands, and instead fight with the tools they develop..

  • are you aware that duirng the challenges during the sino japanese war it was the internals who were whipping janese butt? including judo or ground exercise whatever you people call it now adays. Do your research. We don't care about mma.

  • Are you aware that this kind of fighting/skill rarely exists nowdays anymore? You don't see many actual people who understand/grasp the fighting concepts enough to apply it realistically anymore. Usually lost in the mysticism/health aspects. And in case you didn't know, I wasn't praising MMA. I was making fun of thaiboxerken because he is MMA nutrider.

  • i sir stand corrected

  • Garbage

  • you're an idiot.

  • sorry, i meant to say thaiboxerken is an idiot.

  • thats kind of real good showing thx for that!!!
