Klaus Badelt wrote the score for Pirates one. Hans Zimmer was just assisting him. If you listen to the other scores written by Klaus and Hans you'll recognize that Pirates more closely matches that of Klaus. It wasn't a legal issue it was giving credit where it was due.

Don't be mad at me now but Wikipedia says that this is not Hans Zimmer but a composer named Klaus Badelt, Zimmer made the music to the two sequels...

Hans Zimmer was still writing most of the score (atleast) and only for legal reasons has it been attributed to Klaus due to the synthesized sounds in places. Hans Zimmer is the main composer, and so in effect is like the director of a film. You don't say some-one else apart from the director directs the film.

@masteryodaman111 Hans Zimmer did the second and third movie, though he helped Klaus with this one, but they give most of the credit to Klaus jusrt like in 9, they give most of the credit to Danny Elfman even the Deborah Lurie helped. One composer does scores and the other does themes, usually. Sometimes it's a little different, however.
