nice job but there is something not right in your combo. i have a 434 similar to your 427 and with el-cheepo fuel i made 100 hp more than you at the same rpm. i'm thinking either heads too small or cam not right
Nice car man! I'm actually just about to start a ford engine build with them. My buddy just had his 408Windsor dyno'd there for his race truck. I made 516 or 517 w/o the juice I think.
i am also thinking of building one of these for my 72 vega. it weighs 2500lbs so im hoping for a high 9 low 10 sec car. the 4.88's and powerglide should help...
Great engine build. I am looking at a very similar setup for a C2 vette. What cam did you end up with, and how do you like it? Most things about the engine seem pretty straight forward, but I am trying to decide on the right cam. I don't want to compromise on low end HP (for high end HP) too much.
Precision Racing Engines rock... Ron, Dwayne, and Darren and the other guys are #1 on building motors i just had a 489 done ---- 602 hp and 594 ft. lbs.. going in my 71 Malibu...
I wanna see someone take a 250 or 292 and make it run like that. The only fault I found with that car was the automatic. I saw the flexplate on the motor. Your wasting all that power with that automatic. Put a T56 or T6060 behind that thing, ittl seem like it gained another 50FT LBs
my dads got one thats pushin somewhere around 625hp and 630ish ft.lbs tq it the block is made of cast iron so he got it board out before that it was pushing in the 5's
ya throw that Holley in the garbage, PRE should have told you that.... i made a mistake of putting a Holley on once..... B.G. all the way to the redline

should've cut the music when the motor was running...they scorps and the 427, both great on their own, canceled each other out...

Did you have to cut the block to make the 6" rods and the 4" crank fit?

you probably sleep inside your car - which is the next best thing to being inside another man's arse.

also a bigger cam would help

Put a quickfuel 950 on it, and it'll wake it up...that's not enough Carb...(mine's a sbc434) I'm speaking from learning it the hard way.
Good luck with getting it dialed in.
