  • Dude, you are amazing. Don't stop what you do man!

  • Man, I love your tone and your teaching style is right down my alley, it makes me wish I played Bass.

  • @caramip thanks man! i love the bass.

  • Dude I suck playing with a pick but this shit is great. I'm gonna try and learn to play this. Fuck the haters, you play yo way and let them hate. Btw this video made me choke on my food laughing at some of the sarcastic ass shit you was saying. You're the shit in my book man.

  • How thick should the pick be to get that sound?

  • do you like big black cuz there bass riffs are like that

  • " I like dirty nasty bass tones that sound like SHIT!"

    Man I feeeeel you.

  • Sid Vicious, the bassist of the influential punk rock group Sex Pistols used a pic.

  • sid vicious could not play the bass. literally. they would turn his amp off in concert, and he does not appear on nevermind the bollocks. he was just a good image fit. not judging him for that, but there is no way you can compare him to any actual musician.

  • use your fingers..not the pick

  • @perytube son if you don't use a pick you can't make that tone and sound........ wtf is with you people with "no picks" ?..... you guys are just narrow minded...... A good bass player knows how to play with fingers but with picks too...... There are different music genders that actually need picks...

  • Tell this nonsense to John Paul Jones (Led Zeppelin) :)

  • Justin Chancellor of Tool uses a pick and its some of the best bass playing of all time imo. I can do all three styles which makes the bass much more fun. Theres nothing wrong with picking at all, but its important to learn all aspects.

  • yeah fight the system

  • marlowe in black ^^

  • @FunkyForrestFunk HAHAHAHAHAHAA

  • this is kinda funky Metallica influenced.

you need 2 more bars at the end. you play 6 bars. would be better to play 8

  • i'm also play pick but without a pick hahaha do you know what i mean? I use my fingertop as a pick so i can play with my fingers and with a pick (fingertop)

Btw you're funny ......thats my cat hahahaha

  • you are fucking funny man, sweet playing!

  • bass tabs my friend.

  • Playing with a pick can be very suitable for some songs. It gives a particular sound that works well in (punk)rock. People who look down on pick players are a bit narrow minded i think.

  • your really good at teaching, you should put up more videos.

  • If you refuse to learn fingerstyle and stick to just pick playing then you limit yourself as a bass player or vise versa the other way around. I don't play with a pick yet but i'm looking forward to learning this style.

  • i totally get what you're saying and agree with you, conceptually. my point, however is that we live in a very pro-finger playing/pop slap bass world, and i am very vocal about being pro-pick, b/c some bassists look down upon pick playing. i'm here to say, there is absolutely nothing wrong with pick playing, and that there is an art to it, and you can be a badass bassist with a pick. does that make sense? let me know if you need any tips or pointers. always happy to help.

  • Yeeeaaahh!!!...luv the basslines!...and that nasty sound!!!

  • Lol! Great lesson...think i'll have to watch it again as I missed everything after "use a palm mute...knife hand..like your killing someone!"

  • Death From Above 1979 is a good example of dis kinda dirty bass shit. Thats how I play. Screw conventional fingerstyle.

  • or rancid, antiflag some of the only pickers who use pick to their advantage in bass :P

  • dude your awsome bro come be my teacher haha

  • that bass is fuckin awesome

  • Fuckin' right Man!!!!!!

    I like your attitude..

    Do MORE.

    ANGRY DAVE , HAMILTON ONTARIO

  • You are the man! Do you know karate?

  • Lol that was hilarious "Use youre fuckin fingers like this" LOL

  • improvised styles from years of experience is the best, this is great, and your lesson not just a lesson, it's an entertaining lesson, not the type that makes me want to forward just hearing the bassist play the notes.

hey what type of box is that mini-amp?

  • Thanks so much, I really appreciate it. I love to be silly and goofy when I teach, and joke around. Makes it more entertaining for me and the person learning. The mini amp is called a "HoneyTone". Pretty decent for such a small little thang!

  • its a honeytone

  • awesome, is nicer to learn off somebody who isnt stuffy and has a borin voice....wickedy wickedy woooooo!

  • thanks! i'm all talk - i just like to entertain! :)

  • i feel exacly the same whay and no a bassest dosent have to play with a pick nivarna one dint in teen spirit green day bass dosent so shutt the hel up useing a pick rocks!!!!

  • Dude, I dont care if you played the riff with your pecker... your creative, and you have a sound and tone. Thats all that matters. Very funny too. "Theres my cat..." LOL!!!!!! Keep up the badass work. Teaching the world its not about whats correct but what makes you happy. "Where the fucks the camera..." LOL!!!!

  • Lmao you encourage people to break their fingers lol dude ur hilarious

  • uR lovely :D

  • dude fine if you want to play with a pic but dont mock ppl who play with fingers which a bassist is suposed 2

  • lol - i've been mocked so hard for playing with a pick, but continue to destroy faces. so long as i get mocked, i will mock back. and of course, finger players hate me for giving back to them what they gave me.

  • dis guy is kool...lets jam sometime..hahaha...nice!

  • this guy is the funniest...and also a good teacher...knife hand!

  • yes man your right.. picks rule! my friends bitch at me for not using my fingers, fuck them

  • awesome

  • i wonder what the blue box is...microphone?

  • mini-amplifier

  • dude your fucking awesome

    haha i cheated

    that was great

  • thx so much dude... great lesson for a great bass line .. u r the best

  • dude your the best funy and a bass god!

  • wtf its been one week since i intentionally broke my pinky, i need to get to the doctor to have it cemented for days!

  • Hahahaha you are a legend.

  • Hahaha thanks for the finger exercise for the 5-6-5-3 all in one strum part.

I completely freaked someone out yesterday by doing the independent finger wiggle.

  • lol your my hero!

  • jajajjaaajja master

  • ya funny dude^^ great how to vid ;)

  • lol man I have seen some lessons in my day but this one is by far the best. Man you spice it up to, your not some drone who just tells you how to play it, you actually have emotion as you teach and i laugh and i learned by watching this, and thats how it should be man. Thank you. P.s I dont even play bass, i play guitar, but my friend who plays bass directed me to this, and he enjoyed it as well. Peace man

  • hehe cool riff man. I admire the fact that your not like everyone else who plays bass and only wants to slap the shit out of it. Also, your unique sound is awesome, dont see many bassists gettin really gritty with their bass.

  • lol dude ure funny, and this helps a bit

  • yah, you realy dont care about funk music becuase you wont able to play funk... your just a kid in bass playing... dont close your mind with that kind of thing you played... thats very simple... "try funk music and you will see that you still have many things to learn"... tnx best of luck

  • LOL!! I played funk in the 90's! Done with it! It's flashy and unsubstantive. Look at the sideburns - not exactly young, been at this for over 25 years. Toured in bands, recorded albums, signed on a label, covered in Punk Planet Magazine, amongst many others. So, my opinions come from solid experience. In fact, the fact that you are criticizing something I made because of simplicity, shows how inexperienced you are. Complexity does not equal good. One day you'll learn.

  • sstus, you got owned

  • enjoyed that lesson man, found it very easy to pick up cause it was funny aswell as good. thanks

  • haha your one dirty bastard

    u like scott reeder?

hes another one of your kind

  • agreed, good lesson. I like your bass style. The jokes also added to the overall awesomeness.

  • He He He.... thank you for that good lesson...!
