I prior used a phone with an 'open face' similar to the "Nokia N82". It was a nuisance because it turned on and dialed numbers while jumbling around in my pocket as I walked (which blind people do a lot of).
If you add a talking clock, change it to a flip phone and bring the price way down MANY regular people will buy it, -it will become profitable and IPOD-esque, and -oh, by the way, blind people can use it too !
Nothing that shoudl be limited to usage only for the blind...add translation to it, and you can use it as a direct translator from .. let's say Dutch to English..
The possibilities seem endless to me..
I also doubt taht 5mpx is really needed.. A 2MPX decent one should offer the capabilities needed aswell...
Will it be possible for the software maker to free the source code of the KNFB, say in 3 or 5 years from now (after Breakenvening the RnD costs)... ?
Because we, the poorest from third world countries won't afford bying one. We don't even have a bank account. It is an indispensable tool for every person with sight impairness. But congratulations anyway for this breakthrough. I have put this video in our Blog see : Asso(dot)handicap(dot)sn

To the knfbReader Mobile makers,

Thank you Ray Kurzweil !
