The little tribute within a tribute, to Joe was excellent! (For those who don't know, Buster was part of a Vaudeville act as a child w/his family. Buster's father, Joe Keaton made famous, that gag where he put first one leg then the other on a table.) You hover an instant like Joe did. Forget those who don't think the pratfalls r as important as death-defying stunts. U have that move so perfectly, & u didn't break ur neck! They'll never understand! I do pratfalls too... U make it look easy!
@cinemahawk I love Keaton's death defying stunts, but I think I'm more impressed with his intricate prat falls. He never just fell down. He would always twist and flip and bend in a weird and interesting way.
This must have been a lot of fun to make! Buster had that stiff leg, flat foot mannerism that you picked up on. Gotta have strong arms to take the brunt of those pratfalls! Hope you make more of these. Making a Keaton, Lloyd, Chaplin video tribute would be awesome!
good stuff, when Buster does that 2 legged fall that you do at 2:25, he puts down both hands to catch himself, and lands on a little pad. You can see it in his television apperances from the 50's, where he does that fall. be careful, dont get hurt.
Yeah, I've studied that video clip before. It's a pretty scary stunt to do. I put my hands down too, but I try to slide them forward quick so you don't notice. It keeps my back from getting broken and getting the wind knocked out of me.
I'm amazed at how Keaton did that stunt when we was in his 60's and even his 70's.
ahahahahaha. 2.25 got me in hysterics, your very funny, you got all the moves down to a T =D are you planning on doing some more buster keaton, maybe a bit of charlie chaplin?? I think you'd make a gd chaplin 2
When i do stunts like that i just relax in my whole body. The back is the most important place to be calm, so you dont risk breaking it if you're unlucky, but when you then hit the ground it dosen't hurt at all.
But then, it looks like B. Keaton, it sounds like B. Keaton, it has the rythm of B. Keaton, and the stunts are like but it's not B. Keaton : that's what those guys like Buster Keaton and Charlie Chaplin so great : they had a flair and personnality that made them unique.
wow... i'm impressed. I'm a huge keaton fan, and normally I'd be kind of annoyed at someone replicating him, but this is good, bro... huge question: WHERE DID YOU GET THOSE SHOES? I've been looking everywhere for classic keaton/chaplin style shoes, and I haven't had any luck. Did you find them somewhere or make them? Please let me know. I'm a gymnast, acrobat, and have been trained in stuntwork since I was a little boy, and I am a huge fan and collector of anyting related to Keaton. thanks again
The best (and cheapest) oversized shoes I could find on the internet that aren't bright colours and made of cheap plastic are on the Madhatter Magic Shop website. Thinking of getting a pair myself.
please don't say what you did was pathetic. i've been doing keaton for years and i can tell you that you have done very well with a nice simple gag and i loved it. keep it up. do a longer film. please
That would be cool to see, usually people choose a preference between the three great comedians and stick only with their choice, so seeing a mixture of the three by the same person or in the same video would be fantastic.
Yes it would be cool to have all three. People tend to stick to one comedian like myself...I love Harold more than the other two but it would be nice to see somebody's take on them.
i kept stumbling on this video when i did buster ekaton searches and i never finsihed watching it because i didn't think i would like it. but i just saw the entire thing and it was almost as if Buster were alive again. great job! =]
had me going 4 awhile. for a moment i didn't care 4 it. but when the falls happened...it was like vintage Buster.you make a true Buster fan proud. Thanks.
It's pretty easy. I can't really explain it. there's a website that shows you how to do hat tricks somewhere that explains it pretty good. It's actually very easy.
brilliant work i must say...i know how much the falling over/pratfalls can hurt when you dont get them right!!! check out my attempts at a harold lloyd tribute if you get the chance
I'm a big Buster fan so this was fun to watch. Good job. It's so cool to see others out there who love Buster so many years after his golden era in the teens and twenties. Looks like you had fun! Do more....
This is WONDERFUL! Buster would be most flattered! DAMN! You really have his moves and body language down cold! Not at all easy - very rare to see somebody who can REALLY do this stuff accurately - you've really studied his work. I also enjoyed your performance in your second role - it was very Ford Sterlingesque! Bravo all the way!

@drmoonrat: Seriously, you should have been alive in the 1950's so you could have played His Truly in "The Buster Keaton Story".
MissGoldenDreams13 1 year ago
I thought at 1:31 you fingered the guy. Lol, but wow. You did a great job in capturing Busters mannerisms and falls.

@jenlikeshorses For the most part, yeah. This was actually just a spur of the moment video I made just as a Keaton impression.

The music is by a Russina band called "The Acadimec Band" that I heard in Tennessee. I bought thier CD, but they are a pretty unheard of band.

Yeah, I tried to do it quickly, but I did it a little too late because my back caught alot of the fall, but most of it was slowed down by my hands.
