no it was not a direct dvd it came out to theaters in 2002 i belive it is on dvd now ..... it came 2002 it called the pool but in some states its called swimming pool .... an its about teens going to a college party at a pool at night an one of there freinds goes psycho an murders them .... i give it a 3 an a half star .. some deaths not all that this was probalet thee best one ... but iam going to upload the rest soon of this movie ... check out some of my horror movies death ... :D

actually it couldn't have been avoided and it has to do with the moment and consequences.

Lets assume she could avoid the machete, she could clearly see her boyfriend was hacked to pieces and that doesn't sound like a tempting fate, or worse he could have taken advantage of her even though he could have done that before. given the options and none of them are good, she could accept death by a machete between the legs, or a "likely" male killer who could do much much worse to her.
