They assume she will continue to improve exponentially, that she won't get injured (which IMO will be her ultimate curse), and that everyone else on the WTA is just going to sit back and quit because they're AFRAID of her or something...PLEASE.

It would be WAY premature to compare her to THE Navratilova, yes, but those are excellent volleys. People, so much cynicism makes for a perpetually unhappy tennis fan. Maybe she WILL fizzle out and disappear but just go for the ride and enjoy it while it lasts. :)

You mean in the 80s, possibly? I haven't seen players get a backhand volley to drop just right over the net on any consistent basis. It is very much an aberration in the age of slow, bouncy courts.

wow...amazing backhand volleys? really? like Navratilova i mean seriously? are you people blind or something? totally different technics and just to tell you know Kvitova doesn't make it look that good rushing net, her approaches leave almost the whole court opened for passing shots, she's uncomfortable hitting backhand, which's volleyer's enemy too...and you say she hits the same volley grace as miss Navratilova herself? what a fail...

the meaning of this video is not that kvitova has the same talent of navratilova or that she'll win more slams than her (it's impossible of course in this era, even if i hope petra can win some slams of course),ecc...this video just wants to show that when kvitova plaied these incredible volleys in wimbledon 2010 she seemed really inspired by martina, considering also that navratilova was in the crowd during kvitova-williams and that martina is petra's idol..
