@SeekTruthNOW As an adopted child, I've missed the chance of knowing Her, & I truly Wish I could've known Her, as she was forced to give me up. I know if She were alive today, she would feel and truly*say the same for me, her only child and daughter... There are 3-songs she was able to sing to me (her baby) "Maybe",,, & especially "My Farewell",,, "Little Girl Blue". My mom was clever enough and strong-willed enough, to sneak these songs past her manager.
@SeekTruthNOW I know that I will someday soon see Her in Heaven, and the wounds this old-world has left upon both our souls, will all be healed and we'll be whole, by Heaven's Light of unity within Love, and alas we'll be Free. I too love to Sing; it must be a dna*thing! I'm so happy about all these (still) millions of fans of Her's!! And I can only pray that they'll love Freedom, as much as I know we both do...
@SeekTruthNOW And if thee love for truth be found in them, they will meet us both upon that shore of Glory, and hear the 2 of us singing Amazing Grace, just for them. I'll reveal in the day, and patiently wait, for that precious meeting, so very long awaited, by the both of Us. Thank Yah!
@SeekTruthNOW What-A-Day, for all of us children & parents, to finally be with our beloved ones, and share together how we've learned to trust in Yahweh, for the Arrival of this forever mending day. HE Can Never Fail, for He Has A Father's Heart too, and for Us`All!!! Sincerely, Autumn Joplin Yssachar ;-)
nine idiot who cannot appreciate THE great queen of R+B in the last 60 years - really incredible delivery, phrasing - she put total body+ soul into her interpretations
Because someone does not like what you do does not necessarily mean that they are idiots. It seems unwise of you to say such a narrow-minded thing. I think maybe Janis herself would have disagreed with you and that your praise for her would have been ill-received as a result, though she might well have been kinder than I am, DEPENDING. For all I know YOU may be an idiot, as you provide more information leading to that perception than the 9 mouse clicks. Peace & Harmony :)
MY FAVE Janis Joplin song of all time. You can tell she lived it and felt every lyric, every emotion....GENIUS who left us too soon. ~P.S.~ LOVE love love the PICTURES you added. I've never seen some of these. NICE JOB!
If you like this (and who wouldn't - it's a great song and an incredible vocal) take a listen to Nina Simone's version, also on youtube. Great, too, but it a different way
Totally disagree. She was the epitome of a little girl blue. But then she had all that talent. You can't take the woman out of the rock star. Sounds like a man, or a very young, naive woman, wrote the previous post.
I agree with both of you. Putting what's been said together, it could be said that Jim Morrison, for example, absolutely was a "Little BOY Blue." The acting out and self-medicating in both of these cases appear to stem from childhood trauma issues. And these issues continued to be repeated and the effects exacerbated into adulthood. For example the suffering Janis endured when she re-visited her high school, and Jim's Miami legal issues -
@arfalon Beautifully said. You are 100% correct. WHat you wrote also made me think of Don McClean's "Vincent" (aka "Starry, Starry Night"). The line, "This world was never meant for one as beautiful as as you."
I love the way she sings this song, but Janis was not "a little girl blue", she was struggling with addiction but she was a tough and strong woman who was living in a mans world, working in a maledominated industry, but because she was a woman she´s often portrayed as a slightly hysterical, nymphomanic, weak victim. Jim Morrisson, Jimmy Page or Keith Richards would never be protrayed that way but she was a rockstar just like them and started using drugs and alcohol long before she was famous.
@Planzuid18Killer7 27 is when all the good ones dies The innovators of there times. They are all greatly missed. And they are having one big Jam section in heaven.
How many people really know the sweetness of Janis' voice. This song is so very sweet and beautiful. Too bad all the world couldn't hear the soft side of this very emotional and beautiful lady.
this reminds me of my my dear sister christine who i love and miss more than life the day she left me she took a big part of me with her R.I.P LOVE AND MISS U FOREVER IN MY HEART YOUR LITTLE SISTER SHAR XX
I play this when my life feels terrible and janis is always there to help me through it. Thank you Janis. If only she could see how truely beautiful she was to us.
@MSqueen gloomy but inspite of that good for you and THANK`S JANIS for me too it`s a special interaction; maybe realitionship me I love and respect Janis deeply
It's like she's speaking to me <3 My parents split because of my dad's addiction and his lack of working. He did more than leave me he betrayed me. that bad, the wound he left in my heart and soul can never be healed. But i hear this song and I cry instantly but I smile because of how far I've gotten in life.
@xena224@elvispresleytcb1 Why would you mention him? It's silly, out of context, and you're giving him more attention than he deserves. And besides, what kind of person wishes another dead? Janis, if she still existed, would disapprove.
My mom had me when she was 16 and later on had a drug addiction so i never had that normal mom and daughter relationship ... I would play this song whenever my mom got really drunk just lock myself in my room and jam this song cus it was almost like janis was there talking me through it ...

@mmCait Hey mmCait, I know what you mean. I was born in 1962 and was blessed with having a wonderful mom who introduced me to Janis and Jimi. Often I would hear my mom cry whenever Janis was on and now I know why. Janis' music touched alot of women and she gave us a reason to love ourselves. I hope you someday pass her beautiful music on to your children. She will always be the Queen of Soul/Rock. Gone too soon. R.I.P.
@yahoo9439 My dad introduced me to Jimi. He called me little miss strange for as long as i can remember lol but i will definately pass janis' amazing music to my kids :)
@mmCait , you really know what the real emotion means and it's great to hear a young girl or boy, talking about that kind of artists, i'm proud of you who ever you are !
That artists are gonna leave you to so much other good songs and music.
@city2b Thank you! that truely means alot to me. I mean seriously every time i hear this song i get chills, the first time i heard it i cried. And i think it's good for songs to make you feel thats what music is all about,(unfortunately thats not what mainstream music is about) Janis made you feel man. If only she saw how beautiful she was to us. :( We are truely bleesed with the music she gave us.
being born in 75, i didnt have the pleasure of listening to her as she was alive. but i thank my parents for introducing me to such a AWESOME singer!!!!!!!! Janis you Rock !!!!!
God? Yeh thanks for like, creating the world & everything, but the only thing that's worse than you taking this beautiful, influential creation from us is Hitler.
I am almost 60 years old and she still makes me feel young, and sad, when I hear her wonderful and soulful voice. Thank God she visited here with us, even if she did leave much too soon!
@TheBlakness What! Running around in their underware, screaming their fool heads off, is all wrong? The problem with Janis Joplin, "She does not rest!" 40 years since she has died and nobody has come along to make people forget about the, "Grey Lady."
étrange, je n'aime aucune des autres versions. J'adore seulement celle-là. Je pense que c'est celle qui va le mieux avec les paroles, l'air qui emporte le plus...

40 years ago we lost the best singer ever:( your still alive in ur music janis its sad we never got to hear more of ur music but we love u thank u for everything especially this beautiful song :) WE LOVE YOU JANIS!!!!!!!!!!!
I remember the day it was announced over the radio that Janis had left us. Thank you for this video. It says a,lot about what Janis felt.... She is still with us,,, just listen.
I saw her at the Monterey Pop....nothing like it! Before the concert, on my walk down the street to the entrance, her car pulled up in front of me and the door swang wide open and she jumped out with a hugh smile, jewels and feathers everywhere and I said "hi Janice" she smiled back and loudly laughing said "hi there, peace!" I did'nt relize I was standing in front of the star intake area! Ha!
@Citychild1 I envy you, I do. Usually, the art is enough for me, and it overwhelms the artist. But Janis is one woman I love as much as I love the music she makes. I really wish I could've been been blessed by her physical presence, or at least the knowledge that she was alive in my lifetime. Sadly, I get neither.
I was born in 1969--same time as Janis died--but grew up listening to her thanks to my dad who passed in 2004-- was one of his favorites--and go on and count your little fingers--my unhappy--since you passed--my little girl blue----I know your unhappy and oh lord won't you buy me a mercedes benz and cry cry baby!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
happy father's day daddy--the greatest janis fan ever--missed woodstock because i was born in '69-- cry baby and take another piece of my heart---rip 2005
Love some Janis..! She sang w/such an extraordinary passion in that soulful raspy voice. If you can't feel it, don't try to fake it. -But if you do feel what she's singing, you can appreciate the deep emotions that this woman possessed. Wish I could've been in the audience of at least one of her performances..
Me recuerdo, tenia como 10 o 11, mis hermanos tenian "Pearl" el album de Janis y mi favorita cancion era "Me and Bobby McGee," wow.... que cancion. I also loved "Mercedes Benz.".... Se murio muy joven....... I loved her fierce voice and her wildness. She was a really cool person to hang out with, from what I've seen in videos and interview footage from her. I wish I could have drank some cheap wine with her!!!! Janis rocks!!!! Oh baby!!!!! Te amo!!!
Tengo 51 años y esta mujer me sigue erizando el vello cuando escucho su musica, es pura dinamita y digo es porque sigue viva de alguna manera, no hay duda........

And I know how you feel,
And I know you ain't got no reason to go on
And I know you feel that you must be through.
Oh honey, go on and sit right back down,
I want you to count, oh count your fingers,
Ah my unhappy, my unlucky
And my little, oh, girl blue. AMAZING!!!!

Te amo!!!
