  • these sounds give history brilliance...

  • every time i play this single (very loudly of course!) it just blows me away-still!,its just incredibly powerful & intense,an all time classic for sure.magic.

  • @GARIJPUNQ ;) Gathering Dust M.E. has to be played LOUD !!! unfortunately

these days most bars play the same Shtuff for the same Sheeple Cheers !

  • one of my favourite toons

  • richardhell73 I was worried that this song might be erased from my Favourite selection Glad it wasn't !!! This song still KICKS !!! The ENERGY it has LUV IT ...still after all these years, but can the New Generation mosh...dance to this properly ;)

The Pressure's ON , > NO TIME TO LOSE !!! for we are all "Gathering Dust"

    Thnx M8 Cheers !

  • @djscotty1111 You're welcome brother. Cheers to you

  • i adore this song . it makes me fell so high. it's amazing impressive

  • My favorite noisy-dream pop precursor song.

  • Fantastic. ME before they went totally New Wave-alt pop (not that there was anything wrong with that).

BTW - This looks like a 45 rpm cover. Do I ever miss real album cover artwork. The small CD covers don't cut it. The larger, tangible LP artwork goes hand-in-hand with the music and now this experience is all but gone in this increasingly mp3-ipod-ipad world. Too bad.

  • Reminds me a little of Love And Rockets.

  • brav0! :)

  • Very Hawkwind inspired.

  • Melt was a good song, though, of the entire catalog, nothing spectacular. I saw ME III several times, but last year when they all got back together I was so freaked for that gig. When they played 16 days into Gathering dust, I just freaked out, it was so intense, afterwards Gary, Mick and Steve all congradulated me on enjoying the set so much, How could I have not loved THIS SONG!!! played by the original guys, Cant beat that.

  • Ah yes... still have the original EP of this :) too bad they're known mainly for "Melt with You"

  • Great song!

  • mesh and lace great

  • einfach der hammer=)) geiiiil

  • Bought this back in the day from Volume in Sunderland - still got it in the garage somewhere - absolute class. Went poppy shoite later though..........

  • For Jo who searches for Jehovah all the way in Arkansas.

  • lalaaaalalaaaa

  • new album soundtrack is really rather good :O)) go Robbie

  • better than the commercial crap they came out with later in their career... Mesh and Lace is a great album

  • This is powerful and incredible!

  • Great track! brings me back! Listen to track Grief as well. Joy Division meets Hawkwind!!?

  • @MysterCD absolutely right.... The whole Mesh & Lace album is like Joy Division on steroids...... A great often overlooked album

  • greattttttttttttttt

  • one of ma favourites saw them at northampton cricket club supporting the skids i think memory clouded by alcohol

  • Haven't heard this for ages. I saw them live around this time, they where quit good then.

  • Unbelievable that this is Modern English!

  • @Smeerlappen They have so many other great songs this is just one of many. Look for "Richochet Days" thats also a great Modern English song.

  • I simply had to listen to mesh & lace. I had no idea they experimented with gothrock on their first album.

  • awesome track!

  • mesh and lace, perfection

    after the snow, complete crap

  • First time I heard this version. I only heard This Mortal Coil version.

  • here we are...the good stuff

  • hellll yeahhh

  • its fucking gorgeous la

  • climax

  • I have the single myself and treasure it as the greatest new wave single.

The tension build up, great drumming and great song.

You can also hear how the song is greater than the musicians, takes them up and moves them further than they ever dreamed of going.

    Lucky bastards!

  • a masterpiece

  • you said it right eccentricblonde, otherworldly

  • omg

  • Wow, this is fantastic! And I have always considered After the Snow the best new wave album of all time.

  • Otherworldly, love it!

This has to be my fave of theirs.

  • Very impressive

  • This is the REAL Modern English from their best recording Mesh and Lace

  • Impressive!

  • Excellent Cut!!! Love Modern English and their older stuff plus some new stuff they have done!!! Saw them in concert 4 times now and always good, too bad they are broke up, but rumors they are doing a new album soon. Cheers!
