m going to get some gerbils, im really looking forward to it, but my worst night-mare would for them to die within the first few days... any tips? if so please post on my page.
Some gerbils are more timid then others. You need to be patient. Put a sunflower seed on your hand and hold it still. Let the gerbil get the treat. This way it gets used to your hands and wont be afraid, but it might take some time.
my gerbil escaped just a few mins. ago and im like mommas got you mommas got you and he looked soooooooo scared and cralled up by me and i set a toob down and he cralled into sat still in it and i ptu it in his cage
a few years ago i had a gerbil named coffee and she fell from the high end of my couch and i heard a huge slap then i came over and she crawls up onto my lap too afraid to explore the new world lol :)
my gerbil did that and i was in the bathroom washing my hands and i seen this little white thing run past the bathroom and then i was like wth!!! and it was gerbil he escaped

You should not do it with food, because then they will associate your hand with food ;)
