I have the same exact card, recent drivers and everything. GTA IV does recognize crossfire but when it does it's only using less than %50 of each GPU! I actually found out that I can get slightly better frame rates when I disable one of the GPUS via ATi CCC (disable Catalyst A.I.)! Hell Crysis and Crysis Warhead are so much more demanding than this game and I can get an average of 60fps on the snow level on Gamer setting no aa! GTA IV is just buggy as hell when it comes to Dual GPU's. :(

You do realise it only uses the power of one 4870 out of the x2 since GTA IV doesnt recognise x2 cards or any form of dual graphics.

Oi Slagathor, Crack open the heatsink and you will see the crossfire bridge inside the card. Meaning its two GPU's into one slot. BAHHHh

I bet the next GTA will run better on pc as the port will be using the same engine, I remember GTA been a bad port but they where all fine after.

and too 1bchrisd1 if you have noticed less and less games come out on pc because people get the cracked version, its fine if you want to see if the game is any good and since it is a good game buy it! and support the developers or will wont have any games left, besides football manager

you must to boost your FSB(Front Side Bus)in bios menue.....only in 2mhz steps to safe your system for a total crash.

(cpu multiplier x FSB MHZ = real cpu clock)

my system cpu multi=9,5 FSB=422MHZ

9,5x422=4000,9MHZ

well it runs on high with textures which i think is the most important the view distance is memory hungry so its good where it is now.

I think there are no grphics card that can run this game on the highest. I hope a patch will help boost the frame rate. Also my brother have nvidia 7600 gs and runs on 5-10fps.

ehrm, sir. GTA4 needs more ram than any visual graphic card.

with the worlds fastest gfx card, all u need is memory like u say, its not depending on the video card memory, its depending on the main-memory known as RAM.

4GB should be enough to go on the highest with ALL settings.

my memory(ram) is loading at 80-90% while i play. My video memory is 1 gb. You cant play it on the highest cause its restricted. You need more video memory than just 1gb to play higher.Its not the problem with the graphic card is the problem with the game optimization.Probably they will release a patch and or a new driver from ati.And also if u try to max all the settings u will get very poor framrate like 10-27fps.

What thats a great frame rate compaered to FSX in FSX you are likley to get about 10FPS with max settings with 3-way sli with

GTX 280's and a Quad core lol

not true check out my HD video with one gtx280 and a quad core q6600, getting 50-60 frames per second, but my fraps only records at 30 frames per second.
