If I was an Eric fan I would be really upset at the way the show is going. Bill is So the main character, apart from Sookie. They are following the books in many ways, but the Bill/Eric characters are very different. The B/S romance is always going to be at the heart of the show. Bill is scary in the books and now also on the show. I like it. Thank God he wont be Eric's bitch anymore.

@MrsKatjaCrazygirl007 They're still going to follow the book's plot line. AB is just adding new things so it's not EXACTLY going along with the books, because that would be boring. They are going to stay true to the books. And the Eric/Sookie stuff isn't crap, though it may be in your opinion. At least half the audience loves the idea of Eric/Sookie. :P

One acts like they hate the other, the other acts like he doesn't care about her, but really they have feelings for 1 another & hate it, so they feel confused about what they are feeling for the other person. Most authors write like this, it makes the story more interesting :)

I have read all the books - and I do not agree with you at all. Sookie is an old-fashioned girl - Bill is a one-woman, old-fashioned romantic guy - they belong together and you can see by other comments most people do agree wtih me.
Agreed, Eric/Sookie is the intended pairing. In Sookie's words from the third book(?) "He just gets me". The way they play off of each others' wit never ceases to amuse.

I saw Season 1 of TB before I read the books so couldn't understand all the hype about Eric but then I read the books (all 9 in one go) and totally changed my mind.
By book 2 I was conflicted but by book 3 I was totally hooked on Eric.

Not sure if they'll follow the books, they sure didn't with the whole Maryanne storyline. That went on for WAY too long. And they have made Bill very different from in the books, much more tender and loving in the show, so I think that when the reason he is in Bon Temps in the first place comes out, she will probably have a lot easier time forgiving him.
I tried reading the books and got up to book 7, but since I am solidly on Team Bill, I have completely lost interest in the books.
And I really don't understand all the Bill hating. Yes, he came to Bon Temps under false pretenses, but he had no idea he'd really fall in love with her. What purpose would it serve to tell her the truth other that to clear his own conscious while hurting her at the same time?
Honestly, I think Bill is too good for Sookie. She's always bitching at him for something, things he's done only to protect her. It seems she expects him to change his very nature overnight just because she wants him too.

So here's the thing. Despite the constant beatings and always having brushes with death. . Sookie Stackhouse is like the luckiest girl on the planet. She has not one but TWO insanely hot vampires clamoring for her. Eric and Sookei al the way...can't wait for the real couple of the books to grow up even in the show....sure yhey will, and canb't wait for book 10 where she admits she is in love with Eric and in a relationship with him..at leats Bill was planend to die in book 9 so i guess even their love or affection dies in the books to, but i see them as friends, at least he owns her this!Team Eric and Sookie, there is no other choice^^

Anna is beautiful just the way she is & she epitomizes everything that Sookie is! She plays this role flawlessly! Not only that, but she is an absolute hoot to watch! Besides, she didn't win an Academy Award at age 11 by being a bad actress! I can not picture any other actress playing Sookie! My goodness people... did you even WATCH the show??

It's true that she's not the most attractive actress out there but if you watch all the episodes, you can see that she is perfect for the role. After one season, i didn't even notice the teeth gap anymore

I didn't say Sookie should be with a human...a shifter maybe?? Charlaine has said "Some will be happy with the ending, some will not"...and the whole 9 books are telling us what her life will be like with a vampire...bad! Eric cannot protect her from the "bad" guys...they will use her against him.

Reading the first book in the series, and the show seems to develop the characters way better than the novel.
Please don't say Eric and Sookie are meant to be together! If that's the way it fleshes out, then so be it. Team Bill forever!

If Eric and Sookie dont end up together in the show ill be well pissed :L there ment to be together. Eric comes across as a bad guy but hes a much better guy then bill is. I think True Blood has done really well so far, but I hope they do portray abit of bills bad side in the next series like it does in the book.

I have read all the books - and I do not agree with you at all. Sookie is an old-fashioned girl - Bill is a one-woman, old-fashioned romantic guy - they belong together and you can see by other comments most people do agree wtih me.

In the books, Eric is a very obvious choice over Bill, superior in almost every way.
However, True Blood has yet to (and perhaps never will) portray Bill as the gravely flawed person he is in the books, so as of yet I prefer him over Eric in the tv-verse.

the real reason is reaveald in book 6 Eric told Bill to tell Sookie: he came back to Bon Temps to seduce Sookie following an order by the Queen.
I think this secret is not worst than Book 3 wit Bill's abuse.
In Book 8 Sookie meet Nial a far and ancient relatives....Eric introduces her to him..Sookie is basically Eric's now even if they aren't a normal "couple"
Book 9.....finally the main curse of Eric in Book 4 is reveald and was great!!!!!totally S/E!!!!!!!!!

@Hermyella54 it's complicated...they act like a couple for alomost all the book from book 4...but theyare together in book 9 and in the nex one the book 10th they are a couple....they are married in a vampirical way to protect her....
Books and Show are not to world apart....S2 was soooo close to the real theme of Book 2 and S3 as Ball sadi and Harris confirmed will be very loyal to book3 with changements to surprise us....i can see the books in the show everytime....^^

Bill atil in the books...he rescued her in book 9 becouse Eric couldn't becouse of the bond he was feeling her pain, but book 10 will explain that much(in book 10 she is into a stable relationship with Eric and she admited finally to love him)...Bill is sick from silver in book 9 becouse of the fairy war....
Alan Ball, he said "Sookie and Bill will have a connection that wont' die"...that doesn't mean a romantic realtionship as in the books btw^^ S/E will happen soon^^

Bill was sent by the queen to track down sookie and make her help them any way possible. Including getting her to fall for him. She drank his blood thats why she felt so strongly. The season after this you will see how much better sookie & eric are for each other. Bills a lying asshole.

I saw Season 1 of TB before I read the books so couldn't understand all the hype about Eric but then I read the books (all 9 in one go) and totally changed my mind.
By book 2 I was conflicted but by book 3 I was totally hooked on Eric.
Now I've seen Season 2 of TB I'm so glad Eric has appeared more than season 1.

Not sure if they'll follow the books, they sure didn't with the whole Maryanne storyline. That went on for WAY too long. And they have made Bill very different from in the books, much more tender and loving in the show, so I think that when the reason he is in Bon Temps in the first place comes out, she will probably have a lot easier time forgiving him.
I tried reading the books and got up to book 7, but since I am solidly on Team Bill, I have completely lost interest in the books.

Honestly, I think Bill is too good for Sookie. She's always bitching at him for something, things he's done only to protect her. It seems she expects him to change his very nature overnight just because she wants him too.
