@tarantulakid1 It's not hard. According to DonkeyOMFG, to play online freelancer:

download,instal hamachi,enter hamachi click join and enter the servername, start the game and go to the internet or lan to connect to a server.

Another way is by navigating to the directory:

/Program Files/Microsoft Games/Freelancer/EXE/

then typing the commad:

Freelancer.exe -sfreelancer.myip.org

That should connect you to my server. You should make sure you have the TNG mod installed before connecting.

That's great and all, but what is UNIQUE about this mod? All you've done is basically shown me new ships and weapons, which EVERY mod adds.

What's the defining feature of this mod? why would I download it over say, Crossfire or Shattered Worlds?

This MOD makes the game much harder because all the weapons got beefed up. The weapons on the tradelanes and capital ships do much more damage now as well. Some of the ships are so big, they will not fit through the tradelanes, so you have to take the long way to your destination.

If you have the TNG mod, it should be somewhere in TAU 23 or TAU 37. If you don't have the TNG mod, then it doesn't exist in your map.

I get some stupid DLL problem that nobody knows about when I play "big" mods.

Only thing I think might be the problem is the users (on my computer), some users can play, say for instance, that Halo: CE mod for FL, and some can't.

I have tried TNG and it is a very large mod, however it needs balancing, the firepower and rate of fire needs to be scaled down.

Still it was a nice mod because it took time and skill to get good ship and good weapons... I liked the shadow crab, it was not the best ship but i liked it, and i went to hell and back to become good with shadows so that i could buy the ship.

I wanted to contribute to the freelancer moding comunity however as a 3ds max user i could not get used to milkshape.

Well, I've tried TNG, and still prefer the mod 'Tekagis Treasure'.

TNG is a missile mod (even if you only see lasers in the vid), there's no skill involved, just who's got the better missiles and more of them.

Tekagis on the other hand is a pure guns-mod. Missiles and Torps are rather useless, and only have tactical purposes, but hardly ever kill anyone, so you've got to have skill to survive Tekagis... the much bigger challenge !

Yes. As you know, in the unmodded version of the game, when you're trying to use a jumphole or a jumpgate to go to a diferent system, the autopilot kicks in and slowly pulls your ship in. In the case of the jumpgate, you actually have to wait in line. With this mod, you don't have to wait; as soon as your ship is within range (~1k) it will be pulled in and transfered to the next system. So, it's quick docking.

i playing there 2years and i am SURE the battleships are just preys of litle fighters(torp. havoc(light fighter) or spitfire(light figher)).

The fighters are VERY FAST very small and manuverable.

That is true... but your fighter must be high end and you must be good pilot to take down a battle ship. Most battle ships have a lot of endurance when in battle but like Spitfire says, manuverabilty sucks. Some battle ships can take down a fighter in 2 shots, though.

ErmaC4us the problem probs is that you installed TNG wrong or FL is screwed up by other mods like the ones that come with FL mod manager heres what i would say to do delete TNG from FL mod manager its in its file under program files then go to mods and delete TNg then Delete mod manager then unstall Freelancer then install Freelancer again then mod manager then unzip TNG into mod manager that should fix your problem;-) if it dosnt then please head over to w w w dot nwoclansite dot tk

uhh need some help downloaded and installed the mod using FLMM but on the freelancer main menu the version on the bottom right of the screen says 1.0. I wanna go multiplayer but because of the 1.0 thing I cant join any TNG servers. Any solutions?

You must verify that the mod is not only installed in FLMM but also activated. If after you activate the mod with FLMM, the game version is still 1.0, then you should deactivate the mod, reboot your system, then activate it again.

The battleships are a little harder to fly than the fighters; they are much bigger... It's like the diference between driving a small convertible vs driving a 20-wheel trailer truck. The 2 largest battleships will not fit through tradelanes... they are THAT big. But you can kill almost anything pretty fast and can hold plenty of cargo. They are not impossible to fly, just hard. I believe it is a fair tradeoff.
