  • looks like he back filled when he changed the rod

  • looks like he back filled

  • Good job man...

  • schedule is?

  • Can anyone tell me what a "schedule" is? Sorry I'm a begginer at this welding stuff....

  • Thw wall thickness of pipe

  • Oh my god! you're so awsome. I love you're vidoes. Sitting there in your little booth practicing. I love you......Faggot

  • are you using any motion when you weld pipe?

  • pretty mean push comin over the top

  • you should try ,putting your left pointing finger half way down the rod.and get the two hands of the whip, you will loose controll 2 fast in tight spots.

  • welding 8G~~~

  • now lets see a 6 g

  • good demo keep em comming [audio ?]

  • we havent learn it yet so if you dont mind me asking wats schedule 160 mean?

  • schedule 160 is the thickness of the wall of the pipe. schedule 80 is thinner and 40 is thinner yet. also, the wall thickness changes with the nominal size of pipe. 10 inch schedule 80 pipe is thicker than say 4 inch schedule 80. its all about the pressure its rated to hold. i hope you learned something from all that

  • schedule 160 (sch 160) is the thickness of the pipe. sch 5 being thin shed 160 being fairly thick. its a percentage of the diameter of the pipe if i remember right. you pronounce it "shed" 160

  • 5g is a hard one for pushing that root through on the bottom but weaving the 7018 is fun if they let you weave, and on the job i found a easy way to stick weld, just keep the tig torch change polarity, grab a collet the size of the rod, and use the high freq start, used that trick on a 6inch shedule 80 steam line 7 inches off the ground the other day

  • i hope theres nobody around when that steam line lets go

  • it passed the 1 1/2 times operating pressure hydro test and why are you thinking that there are arc charicteristics with a tig power source that would cause a stick weld to bittle

  • HF start causing porosity?

  • if i had the room to hold that long enough of a arc and dont practice backtracking the arc to where i start laying the weld, then yes porosity could be a issue

  • i work in a nuke if i did that they would pull my certs

  • pulling your certs for using your fingers half way down the rod? why? never heard such a thing and does not say that in the D1.1 aws book. i'd tell that inspector to shove it

  • You might work in a nuke, but you dont weld in one. Keep practicing and get rid of the chipping hammer. We're pipe fitters not blacksmiths, get a file.

  • @quickshot1cav dont let them catch you?

  • what are you on about? your telling me you jammed a rod in the end of the tig torch??

  • you can do that it works just fine, you can even use the foot pedal it's pretty cool

  • @superdave27656 I work for a nuke plant...they would pulll my certs and Fire me if i tried that...
