@indigo656 The allied soldiers have beacons that flash so the eyes in the sky know who the good guys are. When the video pans out you can see the flashing lights on the soldiers.
@Indigo656 i believe the nm of the laser's range is clasified for each mission as the ir spectrum is very wide (roughly 780-1080nm) and simple equipment can determine what the beam's nm is and if it is right. if i am mistaken, then why the fuck hasn't anyone else thought of this prosedure? i'm a fuckin teenager and i figured that out!
Weapons used were a GAU-16 (.50 cal) and that huge burst of rounds was a GAU-17 7.62 six barrel mini gun. And LAU rockets as well very bad ass ooh-rah!
can't be seen by the naked eye but can make you go permanently blind quicker than you can say : "is this thing on?"...heh no real uses for the civvie side of things but DAMN usefull in trained military hands .
God bless our troops and our kick ass air support , good luck and happy hunting!
@ohhhwell understandable and I do have a laser I use for popping balloons and lighting cigarettes but this type of laser dis pretty lousy for that the only thing it burns well is retinas. ergo you won't see these too often in civilian hands ( at least not legally usually .) and be careful on ebay auctions for these there are a TON of ones that are stolen. ( stolen gov. equipment= HEAP bad juju...)
@reignick1133 ht tp : // w w w .o-like .c om/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=7&products_id=36 This one says it can light matches and pop balloons and o-like can legally ship to the U.S it's cheaper of course because there's no visible beam.
@reignick1133 using IR lazers pointers with Night vision= I own your face with my assault rifle. Shooting 500 meters at night is SWEET but if your enemy has Night Vision also then Your screwed cuz you just light yourself like a christmas tree. The right way of using Infra Red pointer is don't turn on until you gonna fire and then use ghillie suit to move and camoflauge somewhere else.
@eduardomjan1973 the technique you are referring to is called "bliping" or "strobing" with any infrared iluminator / collimating laser , it's best to keep it off until needed ( besides being a smart move tactically it saves battery life, which these things DRAIN some cr123a's like a vampire at a blood bank. )
We never used ghillie suits though that's more for marine scout snipers.
Kinda suppressed no one commented on their IFF strobes.

is it visible to the human eye? That would kind of defeat the purpose of an infrared laser.
korbano 4 months ago
works as long as the enemies are impoverished stone age cavemen. imagine two equally equipped armies trying to use the same weapon. wouldn't work.

can you see a 808nm laser thru night vision also?

better hope the enemies don't get some lasers and confuse the target location.
