Windows 7 is way better. I have five Operating Systems on my HP/PC. Windows 7, Mac OSX Lion, Linux Mint, Linux Ubuntu , PC-BSD. In Linux I have the the KDE , and Gnome releases . Linux , and BSD are free, and open , and there is about 700 distributions of Linux. Linux can also run off a live CD with-out install so you can try it out with out effect your computer .

Warning Windows Vista Requires More System Resources Than Windows 7. But Windows 7 is almost as annoying when it comes to opening programs unless you turn off uac and if you do that in vista it is annoying as hell. Telling you to activating it every 5 minutes.

I don't understand this at all. The only thing I see is a parody of a computer that was bought with preinstalled programs such as a virus scanner and pretty much a horrible processor.

Vista's only issue would be the requesting permission (which could be turned off)

Updates are the same (similar) for every OS

Honestly, I never experienced too many issues with Windows Vista, mostly due to the fact that I've got it running on a Maingear. At Maingear, they hand build all of their machines to YOUR specification and does not include any additional software and trials. Plus I bought the machine when Microsoft released Windows Vista SP1. It's fully updated now, of course.

But Linux also sucks in its own way!... And I use it. It's not always going to be properly set up, have the right drivers for the hardware you want to use... though I still would rather use Linux than Vista. I've just found it to be horrendously slow and unstable for some tasks.

Cute. We have written different operating systems but the inertia behind windows and linux is overwhelming (Android is just a GUI front end on top of a virtual machine on top of a linux core). So... until YOU the consumer ask us to do better I'm afraid it's business as usual.

In my opinion Vista is better than 7 for the simple fact that on 7 NOTHING is compatible. If i want to upload a picture i took with my camera i have to go on my laptob, upload it and send it to my email adress then, get back on my computer with 7. Pretty shitty. My mic doesn't work either, headset, my webcam and finally my graphic tablet. How fucking stupid is that

I think that there was nothing wrong with Vista, after some tweaks.. turning UAC off.. it runs nicely. But at the end of the day! If it was that bad for the majority of people they should have gone back to XP :) W7 Is great though, but they need to stop changing stuff around! :D Anoying for techies!
