Need a Federal Law overseeing entire US banning Puppy Mills, strict felony animal abuse laws with imprisonment and fines would help too. When the mills are closed up the rescues could take over to rescue these animals so they can be adopted or rehabilitated so they can live their remaining years in sanctuary without fear, neglect and torturous abuse. HSUS go after the Amish, they are some of the worst puppy millers in the country and hide behind their religion. They are very abusive people.

I hate cages with animals. With mine, there are a few "cage" rules.

1) My dogs have large crates (inside) with no doors. We had the doors on for 3 weeks as puppies, to train them that "go to your crate" is where they sleep, and then we removed them.
2) My cats have traveling crates for trips to the vet or groomer, because it keeps them calmer in the car.
Keeping animals in cages like this is horrible and makes me so sad. I wish I could adopt them all!
@colliemamamarie did you not hear them say they would try and rehabilitate them and rehome them. They would only put them to sleep if they where in a state beyond mental or physical repair or if it was impossible to rehome them.

@dhimmicarter The animals that are in the cages were the ones used for the breeding. They just continually get them pregnant so that they produce as many puppies as possible that are then sold for to pet stores or unsuspecting pet owners.
That made me cry my freakin eyes out-I got my Bailey in a similiar condition and it sickens me because I don't think he came from a puppy mill but rather a person who crated him. He was matted and covered in feces as well. I think he escaped or maybe they threw him out the door. He is still a little untrusting of people after just short of 5 years of being with me. oh, those poor little animals!!! i got a puppy from a puppy mill, which is both a good and bad thing. good: she doesnt have to live in such an awful place. bad: that just helped a puppy mill. it was hard to tell whether this mill was a terrible one or one that breeds tons of dogs, but actually cares about the dogs' well beings and lets them run around a bit in a yard. if ur gunna own a puppy mill, at least take care of the dogs, or dont even sell dogs at all!!!

This is a major Problem in The U.S. The biggest problem for us on the East Coast is Pennsylvania With the Amish everybody thinks they just farm , but how they make there money is with running these puppy mills. Check into this one time. I could not work for the Humane society as I could not contain myself with the owners who have no remorse of what they do to these animals.
it's not just puppy mill owners to blame. We are all to blame, with our consumerist tendencies. We teach our children that animals are toys, or objects to be acquired as impulsively as a pretty purse. We all need to grow up and be more responsible. And those of us who are already responsible should open our hearts and homes to those that need our help - animal or otherwise.
How can 'people' keep animals like this? Don't they know that animals are living, feeling beings who can feel joy but also suffer? This is so horrible. The one who has done this should be forbidden to keep animals for the rest of his life.
We adopted one of these wonderful dogs from the Arkansas puppy mill and now he has a happy home with lots of love and room to run around and play like a real dog.

I dont understand how people could be so cruel! It is horrible that these innocent animals do nothing, yet get punished. Its horrible to think that there are hundreds of these hell holes still existing today. Please help us stop them. Great video, and thank you for all that you do!

@dhimmicarter The animals that are in the cages were the ones used for the breeding. They just continually get them pregnant so that they produce as many puppies as possible that are then sold for to pet stores or unsuspecting pet owners.

That made me cry my freakin eyes out-I got my Bailey in a similiar condition and it sickens me because I don't think he came from a puppy mill but rather a person who crated him. He was matted and covered in feces as well. I think he escaped or maybe they threw him out the door. He is still a little untrusting of people after just short of 5 years of being with me. These people should rot

This is heartbreaking. People need to know the cruelty of puppy mills. They need to start adopting animals instead of buying them. That would cut down on a lot of this abuse.

Aww, i couldnt even watch this without crying, this is just too sad. Im glad they took them, even if they might get put down, they would still be in a better place than that hell. If i was there i would just take them all and let them live in my backyard.

this is the SADEST video I have ever seen by HSUS. the music instantly brings tears to my eyes! and when he starts saying these dogs are ready to die and have given up a long time ago breaks my heart into a million pieces, my pomeranian puppy mill rescue actually has tears in her eyes and the saddest face hearing those little barks come from the computer. any updates on the dog at 2:46 the one that looks like it is literally dying he breaks my heart i hope he survived!

oh, those poor little animals!!! i got a puppy from a puppy mill, which is both a good and bad thing. good: she doesnt have to live in such an awful place. bad: that just helped a puppy mill. it was hard to tell whether this mill was a terrible one or one that breeds tons of dogs, but actually cares about the dogs' well beings and lets them run around a bit in a yard. if ur gunna own a puppy mill, at least take care of the dogs, or dont even sell dogs at all!!!

This video made me bring tears to my eyes.. I do not have any tolerance for animal abuse. I js don't know what is in the person's mind and keeping the animals in such filthy conditions- awful. I hope for more citizens to take action and responsibility for each and every animal/living thing in this world. I'm definitely going to be taking action by volunteering to help these helpless animals.

This is a major Problem in The U.S. The biggest problem for us on the East Coast is Pennsylvania With the Amish everybody thinks they just farm , but how they make there money is with running these puppy mills. Check into this one time. I could not work for the Humane society as I could not contain myself with the owners who have no remorse of what they do to these animals.

it's not just puppy mill owners to blame. We are all to blame, with our consumerist tendencies. We teach our children that animals are toys, or objects to be acquired as impulsively as a pretty purse. We all need to grow up and be more responsible. And those of us who are already responsible should open our hearts and homes to those that need our help - animal or otherwise.

We adopted one of these wonderful dogs from the Arkansas puppy mill and now he has a happy home with lots of love and room to run around and play like a real dog.
