  • I love Israel!

  • OI!!!!!

Ive met these singers and they are incredible people, Israel is amazing and this song is most definately the best in the history of the contest...Yes! even Abba!

Stop reading the tabloids and go see what is really going on in Israel!

  • @rainebow1000 You are so right we all amazing country!

  • this song simply gorgeous

  • Gali.....32 years have passed and you are still gorgeous !

  • Sorry about that. I should explain I am an atheist and I don't support anyone unless they have something sensible to say (ha ha, yes, let's count the days). I am also a linguist and yes I am also a sucker for a fantastic song and a bit of nostalgia. This is simply wonderful.

  • Wow, remember watching this on tv when were were stationed in Germany. Talk about a blast from the past. I was only 5.

  • prase you yahweh

  • Bravo Israel !!!

  • music and sport is not political rassism or religious deformed1) why do we dont have olympia for musicians2)swing is always superb even when i dont understand the lyrics.it swings3)

  • A wonderful song. Go Israel.

  • Imagine if Ofra Haza sang this song!!! - her voice here is not good; but the song is very beautiful....

  • @onlinelondon Beautiful song and beautiful lyrics, thanks for the translation and for giving us all a message to think about and a lesson to learn.

  • (continuing my previous message):

    Hallelujah, about everything

    Hallelujah, for tomorrow and yesterday

Hallelujah, and go hand in hand

And sing from a single heart:

    Hallelujah

  • (continuing my previous message): Hallelujah, along with the song Hallelujah, for a day that is illuminating Hallelujah, for everything that took place And for things that did not occur yet: Hallelujah Hallelujah, to the world Hallelujah, everybody would sing And the big uvulas Would reverberate in a lot of tones And together with us they would say: Hallelujah Hallelujah, along with the song... (to be continued on my next message)
  • I'll try to translate the words of the song (You should know that "Hallelujah" says "praise the lord". And ofcourse, in Hebrew the lines rhymes and in the translation they don't):

    Hallelujah, to the world

    Hallelujah, everybody would sing

    In one single word

The heart is full with a lot of gratitude

and it also beats: what a wonderful world

(to be continued on my next message)

  • This song is just wonderful. And it would even full-fill it's content , if we all could enjoy it's beauty. No matter where we are from or what we believe in. Someone has sent it to us as a gift. We can be grateful.

  • still mazing

  • Bravo, Israel and Peace for everybody!

  • Great song and one could just sing along: Haleluya la'olam, haleluya yashiru kulam bemila achat bodeda, halev male behamon toda veholem gam hu - eze olam nifla.
  • @padoomtish thank you so much for the lyrics. It sounds so wonderful in Hebrew.

  • Incredible that such nice things can come from such an ugly country

  • @ArjanlPlantinga What?

  • @ArjanlPlantinga Israel is the most beautiful place on earth! And I hope that our country is never contaminated with your footprints.

  • @u4ism100 I guess you mean Palestine sir :) ..

Anyway, great performance .. I like it

  • @Amalk1991 I'm glad you like the performance. With all due respect Sir, I am referring to Israel. Palestine is a name that was concocted by the British for a short period in history and has no lasting or legitimate value.

  • @u4ism100 world is full of shit & this's one of them ;)

you should call me Mam if you want. Anyway, music is music

  • There is a mistake in the title because what is Israël ? .... Palestine :)

  • @judomane45 your at the wrong video my friend you go search whatever "palestine" meanes and see what you get :)

  • @SingIngToColdplay I guess we're at the wrong world !! .. go search history if you need to be educated :)

  • I love this song. I was 17 years old. Thanks for bringing back to everyone...

  • *denomination

  • What is going on here? Fantastic song about optimism and enthusiasm, and I come for the first time to be confronted by some shoddy political crap spouted at the top. I LIKE THIS - ok? This is good for the soul for any demoniation - and I am an atheist!

  • ....top comments ???.....why is it part of 21st century psyche to mix peurile negativity or political views with great music....if you get paid for selecting "top comments"...perhaps it should be in greek drachma

  • Hallelujah! I love this song!!!

  • Israelis are hot!

  • anybody know where i can get the sheet music for this?

  • love Israel

  • ...remember.....for all time....when the twin towers were falling and people at work were dying horribly they wre dancin in the streets in the gaza strip 'beiruit and damascus...you are dealing with ALIENS....god bless isreal ...best wishes for bombing the shit out of iran

  • my all time favorite

  • @janetjeroen What? All time favourite?? More than Toto Cotugno, Secret Garden, Eimear Quinn, Celine Dion, Abba, France Gall, Vicky Leandros, Johnny Logan, Lordi or Alexander Rybak (only to mention winners)? Not to talk about non-winners, like Domenico Modugno, t.a.t.u., Cliff Richard, and yes, Dchinghis Khan in 1979!

  • Who'se the schmuck that said jews have no sense of music?

  • Jews should come to Singapore . There is religion harmony here coz whover stirr trouble gets jailed.

  • fantastic!

  • very nice... she looked like Karen Carpenter and sounds a bit like her too...

  • Esta bonita canção correu mundo! Canta-se esta melodia nas missas católicas!Viva Israel! Viva o Amor e a Paz! God bless you, Israel!

  • the whole world...? even madagascar? :(

  • @nmgscp Nice post, too bad none of it is true. Mira Awad is an Israeli Arab who has been part of mainstream Israeli culture since before the Eurovision. The only problem Israelis had with that song was that it just wasn't good. The IBA thought that the whole peace trend would make Europeans vote for them, however they judged it for its quality which is why it reached the 16th place. Not that we didn't send worse songs...

  • @nmgscp i believe that the wings of musiv lovers are stronger than some political storms.here we got great musicians and great singers.all music lovers r with my comment.dont needs thumps up or down...we all know what were talking bout here.

  • @m2killer51 I actually loved Ofra Haza, and continue to love her, not only for her music, but also for her attitude, which is not the same as that of most Israelis, and her family suffered a lot under the Yemeni pogroms, but she could still identify herself with her Yemeni background.

  • @m2killer51 I admire a lot one person, called Wladyslaw Szpilman, not only because his life was in displayed on a movie (though that made me know about him better), but also because, as a Jew whose family was all killed by the Germans (not by Poles), he never renounced his Polish identity, even if Poland became communist for 40 years. And he founded the Sopot International Festival in Poland, which was a great contribution of him to his country: Poland!

  • @nmgscp thanks for teaching, but who is Wladyslaw Szpilman got to do with this song?

  • @m2killer51 with this song, nothing. But he also was a Jew as well as a musician! But I understand that you may feel uncomfortable by Wladyslaw Szplilman, since he was a non-Zionist Jew. And Israelis almost hate more non-Zionist Jews than they hate the Palestinians and other Arabs.

  • @m2killer51 Honestly, I don't know why the hell Israel is in ESC, for a start, except for the fact that they are pretending to be Western people... Well, yes, the Ashkenazis were Western people, until they decided to live in the Middle East. So, as Israelis decided so, they should assume that and at least try to integrate in the Middle Eastern society! As Israel is not in Europe and doesn't want to become part of the Middle East, I suggest that it creates its own continent!

  • @nmgscp

Well Dana international is israeli and she won

  • @SuperSimonuk It's fine, but not one of my favourites, that of Dana International. It's just a personal opinion.

  • @nmgscp Stfu you stupid muslim-lover.

  • BEATIFUL SONG HALLELUJA

  • muito lindaaaaaa!

  • @rietmans Do the terrorist's Palestinians people sing Hallelujah when they are killing israeli people and children and sending rockets and bombs in/over Israel every day? THE ANSWER IS: YES.

AND ISRAEL IS NOT THEIR LAND, GO AND LEARN THE HISTORY BEFORE YOU SAY THAT.

ISRAEL IS THE LAND OF THE JEWISH PEOPLE SINCE 5000 YEARS AGO. - THEY HAVE NO ELSEWHERE TO GO BECAUSE OF ANTISEMIT PEOPLE LIKE YOU. (THERE IS ONLY 1 JEWISH COUNTRY AND MORE THAN 20 MUSLIM COUNTRIES-THEY CAN GO THERE)

  • @rinat190 Sure, and half of Europe belongs to Italy because of the history 2000 years ago. Religions are terrible, Jewish think yhey're the favorites of God, Muslims kill when you're not muslim. Stop being a race or a religion, we SHOULD be all the same, but the jewish culture only acce[ts the superiority of the Jews.

  • @rietmans .... can we save the racist information-gapped bullshit for a more appropriate video? this is a beautiful song- not a political outlit

  • @rinat190 WELL SAID MY FRIEND, GOD BLESS ISRAEL.

  • @rinat190 A BIG AMEN!!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • @rietmans does rietmans spend his free time going on videos related to Israel just to post a negative comment?

Perhaps you should try getting a few friends.

  • Oh i love this song. greets from germany!

  • great song! and great performance!
  • Isreal is one and a half times the size of Yorkshire...surrounded on all sides by envious hostile arab states ....even in 1967 their combined armies (with reversing lights on the tanks) were hammered......Palestine is just an excuse....if it were resolved the mad arabs would latch on to something else....God bless Isreal ...it's people and it's music....hallelujah

  • His son is a better musician.

  • ....henry you're a dickhead

  • So you only need to say halleluya 60 times that you win a song contest? that doesn't seem fair ..

  • ......and by the way nappy (appropriate)...don't mix great music with your infantile view of world politics

  • ...from a time when the song counted most...now it's a freak show....god bless isreal...

  • Hihi and I thought Israel has a heavy schedule killing people to actually sing hhh disappointed I suggest you guys go back to the army those Arabs won't die on their own

  • Great song well done by these young people.

  • haleloya - bless god.

everybody bless god and sing together.

bless the world for the day that shines

  • Wow, so Dschinghis Khan lost to this elevator music.

1979 sure was a crazy year..

  • I was only 7 when this one was played on tv.. And it stuck in my mind till this day.

  • <3

  • Beautiful..greetings from Ireland

  • Since I heard it at the Eurovision,

I love this little grat song.

    Thanks for the video!

  • Beautiful!

I really want to know who Re'uven Gvitrz, Shmulik Bilu and Yehuda Tamir are. Somebody will tell me they are from left to right? And where are they now? I found Gali Atari in YouTube but the rest I couldn't find.....

  • Why does Israel participate in the Eurovision Song Contest instead of a Middle East Song Contest?

  • @nmgscp israel is a cross section between africa,europe,asia

  • @nmgscp

    XD

    i don't think it'll work out .

  • Comment removed

  • @nmgscp Aisde from obvious politics and the fact that there's no Middle Eastern Song Contest? The Eurovision is open to member countries of the European Broadcasting Union. Morocco has participated.

  • go israel love u.......hallelujah

  • Wievielter is eigentlich dies komische Transe geworden ?

  • I think its the BEST song ever!

  • Beautiful song. Wonderful harmony, amazing lyrics, great music and great performing. Well done .. To this day we hear this song without a break

  • . . . but karen carpenter could also play the drums

  • Has anyone got 'Goodbye New York', a song which was later recorded by them?

  • Brilliant performance and perfect harmony. Can't help it, but like to hear it very often.

  • Halleluyah Israel! I love you!

  • Shalom! Ein Traum Lied....das waren noch Zeiten...

  • really amazing song ...and great vocal performance! Hallelujah is such a universal word that anyone can connect to this song without knowing Hebrew, but even better hearing it sung by the originators of that word, Israel.

  • Like the song, like the outfit, like the purity and the sound. Israel people seem to be very attractive too.

  • It is so beautiful. Though I am a Buddhist, it is my favourite Song contest songs. So pure and perfect.

    Hebrew is a beautiful language.

And people are so beautiful too.

  • Wonderful song from a time, where it still was all about the music. Songs still could be feel-good and simply all-out beautiful. This song is also extremely well written, great build-up from just piano and lead vocal to full orchestra and all vocals. Very uplifting! Wonderful voices from all group members and great vocal harmonies. Love it!

  • beautiful!!!!!anazing!!!!

  • This song rings in my ears every time I am especially happy about something! In English, I must confess, cuz that is what I understand, but really. It is so joyful, positive and feel-good that it is just fitting in times of epiphany or delight. :DD Thank god I finally found it.

  • I enjoy the most in this video looking at Kobi Oshratwho is the conductor and composer of the song :)

  • Isreal won in 1979???

if that so, the 1980 eurovision was in Jerusalem????

and in 1998 Dana international won, right? Is the eurovision ever been to Isreal..?

[[haha the right one is cute]]

  • Israel won in 1978 and in 1979 again. So, the eurovision hold in '79 was in Jerusalem. Cause of organisational problems the eurovision of 1980 was hold in Amsterdam

  • nop it was yom hazikaron so eurovision 1980 was not in israel

  • So, in 1980 Isreal didnt go to Amsterdam (because of 'yom hazikaron')?

  • Shalom Israel !! Israel for ever !

  • Shalom from Mexico!

  • G-d bless Israel

  • I was five when Israel won ESC 1979. It is a classic and maybe the song that reppresents best Eurosong and its aim - to gather a few nations of this world commited to celebrate with the human voice. This song is universal. Simple things we want most are granted through Love and Peace. We don't need no more than a simple word to thank what we receive for free everyday - no matter if we are jewish, christian or muslim we know what Hallelujah mean. That is our common heritage. Thank you Israel.

  • GOD BLESS ISRAEL In Jesus Name

  • Wonderful song, a true classic!

  • MUSLETOV

  • GOD BLESS ISRAEL

  • Excellent performance and cute song indeed. It's the first time I hear it actually,

and I had no idea Israel won already in 1979!

Interesting to know as well that it was in Israel that Ajda Pekkan performed her "petr'oil" in 1980.

  • ...just sweet... :)))

  • we used to sing this song in my school)))

  • BRAVO!

  • prachtig!!!

  • 2.03-2.16 omfg rofl
