You have a few problems, the way I see it:

1) Level design. The "leap of faith" at the beginning is something that shouldn't appear in a thoughtfully designed game.

2) Clutter: the columns on the background are somewhat confusing as to what is in the foreground and what is in the background. To avoid that, give them a different palette, maybe reduce the contrast. Compare with quality platformers, like, say, metroid zero mission, and you should have an idea of what to (not) do.

the game itself doesnt seem bad at all, but I'd rather have Zelda NOT be a platformer.

We have enough platformers already with Mario, DK and the likes
