Good video. I have the original album which does not include this song. Good bonus song. Thanks. I hope the remaster in the future will include more surprises!
Why wasn't this on the album? it wasn't exactly a brill album?...This was on a par with "sledgehammer " by peter gabriel ...A shame...coulda been a single...
That's one thing that always gets me about Paul; How he fancies himself the best judge of his work, by leaving some great songs off most of his albums, and filling them with some tunes that would've been better left unreleased AND unheard by the public at large. I think "Pipes of peace" in particular would've been a MUCH better album, had he included this song. No wonder "Pipes" was such a comparatively lackluster followup to "Tug Of War".
Very special song, very special lyrics... Paul is a genius on putting simple words together to deliver a very powerful message... All we need is love ;)
The 2 or 3 first lines of melody in this one sound a lot like "don't ever change" which the Beatles versioned /watch?v=Yd4iRFAWRT8 and is included at "Live at the BBC". Here it's kinda disguised by the reagge rhytm
You can tell this track was from the sessions for 'Press To Play'. The song gives a good point and it shall be taken into consideration. It has the same beat (in my opinion) as "Good Times Coming"
Gosh I don't remember this song from Pipes of Peace but it's been ages since I listened to that one (I still have it on vinyl). You've convinced me to revisit it. Lovely pictures and very well done!
You're correct that this song wasn't on the original album. I forgot to add in my video details that this is on the re-released version. Thanks for your comment - reminded me that I need to update those details!:)
@eanders417 "Simple as That" wasn't on the original vinyl version(But it SHOULD'VE been, IMHO), In place of some of the garbage filler that Macca DID Put on Pipes). As the description says, it was included as a bonus track on the 1993 CD re-issue.
It was originally recorded for a 1986 anti-heroin album and was eventually added as a bonus track on the re-release of McCartney's "Pipes of Peace" CD.
LOVE IT
