  • Can you imagine what a fucking mess this fool would have created with his stupid "Green Shift" bullshit.

  • There is no need to call right-wingers "Bush-Cheney" stupid. If ya look at old debates featuring Joe Clark and Robert Stanford, you will find that they were intellectuals who deeply cared about Canada and believed that Canadians need to invest more in private Canadian industries. I personally believe that there is a better economic model which is incorporated successfully in European countries that have both a strong private sector and a strong public sector. We too in Canada have many resources

  • @billy51020 I agree. I had alot of respect for Robert Stanfield, Diefenbaker, and Joe Clark...not so much for the ones that came after. Once the right shifted to an Americanized style that was less fiscally responsible...things changed ...drastically in my opinion.. Even in the US...before Nixon's corruption...you could at least respect the intelligence of a right wing poltician, even if you disagreed with their views. I respect Harper and Mulroney as intelligent..but not their politics...

  • @billy51020 In addition, there is a big difference between intelligent right wingers and the dumbed down sort promoted by typical American right wing politics these days. Dumbing down is an intentional strategy. it happens on both extremes of the spectrum....people who take narrow bits of information...such as labour support.....or support of christian policies...and make choices baed on that limited piece of info.. I would say that the most intelligent electorate tends to be close to centre.

  • @paulfornasier I've always viewed the concept of "centrism" it merely being placed somehow on the centre of a graph. Noam Chomsky and Ludwig von Mises are very different yet still intelligent as much as I disagree with them. The intelligence of the electorate is lacking when a large chunk of the population does not vote. Regardless of ideology the biggest problem is voter turnout

  • @billy51020 I agree that intelligence is there in all areas of the spectrum. But I find the dumbing down thing to be more prominent on the extremes. I think that's a clearer way of expressing what I feel. The ends of the spectrum provide clear ideas that people tend to hang onto.....often without really grasping the full effect on the population of those policies in isolation. The centre is a place of compromise....and I like it. The mix between business incentive, social policy and labour.

  • @paulfornasier The Middle Class was practically created by labour. If there was no need for unions, then they wouldn't have arisen. But unions deserve regulation just as corporations do and just as individuals are subject to.

  • @billy51020 I agree...I think that is what the middle ground is about. No one interest group...esp one whose interest favours only a smaller minority portion of the population..should dominate the legislative agenda..

  • @paulfornasier I agree that left-wingers have held Canada back for many years. When will lie-berals and NPD'ers (Nude Democratic Party) apologize to Canadians?

Another sad commentary of the once proud party of Ed Broadbent!

    Just an observation....

  • @billy51020 I would say the largest part of the electorate...the middle class..is served by a mix of policies from the left and right. Otherwise..the middle class gets "used" to serve exclusive needs of either end..the rich or organized labour..and ends up paying the bill and losing their shirt either way. The problem these days is that neither end really cares much at all about fiscal responsiblity..and that is really my prime concern. The middle class pays the bill..taking it up the ying yang.

  • Why do we get few immigrants from countries such as Libya. Are these the best countries because we get few immigrants from them?? Canada and the US are the newest modern economies...and lots of land available that is not yet fully developed. Is there a wonder that we get huge pools of immigration every year?? After all these questions...is immigration a valid tool for comparing a country's likeability or success?? Not likely....seems quite stupid in the present so-called debate..

  • Once again, your range of topics and so-called facts is like that of a 5 year old. You've repeated the same infantile things over and over and over again. And you don't seem to be able to see how transparently stupid you look. You have NO ability to look at your own party in any kind of critical sense...which tells me you are the usual despised dumbed down voter that the COnservatives love to have as their fan club. Often prejudiced, christian uneducated white trash..trolling other people..

  • @paulfornasier Love it that you do not address the lie-berals and their disgusting corruption.

Corruption, btw that destroyed Canada's international reputation.

Oh well, the best party won and anything else from you would sound like a sore-loser!

Are you are sore-loser? (Or a loser period?)

    Just wondering...

    Hope I educated you.

  • @mikefastener I do not understand this trend amongst people to call those whom are politically active and do not support your view as "losers"? Are you a social darwinist? If you are a conservative, let me tell you that your so called saviour ,Jesus, wouldn't approve of your actions. If you want education, I will tell you of the economic prowess of social democratic states in nordic Europe. If not, stop insulting people online and find something productive to do with your life.

  • @billy51020 Interesting comment! I recognize your saviour, "diversity". Interesting, I find that the so called, progressives, embrace diversity, as long as it agrees with their view of the world. (Witness the disgusting treatment by the left of Christian religious groups--something they would never try with any other group.) Just an observation.

I would appreciate your lesson on Nordic Europe (doubt you have been there, I have). How many of them are in the G8? (Little egg on your face?)

  • @mikefastener Extremist atheists can be just as extreme as religious fundamentalists. Norway, has the highest gdp in the world. Rich CEO's in Sweden and hockey players refuse to head to places with lower taxes because strong social welfare states have been proven to be effective drivers in increasing the quality of life. Use wikipedia and look up the swedish social democratic party.

  • @billy51020 Actually you are wrong. Norway has the benefit of North Sea oil supporting their welfare system. Sweden gets by with some natural resources. Easy question to prove your (or my) point. Tell me the number of immigrates from Sweden/Norway to the US and the number from the US to Sweden/Norway each year.

    Looking forward to your answer.....

  • @billy51020 My recommendation to you...don't respond to this ass. He actually doesn't debate for truth, as you notice. He just repeats selective facts...and loves to soothe his ego and think he is "winning". Truth is..after watching him for a while...is that he knows very little..but repeats the same lines over and over again. He worships Harper like this is religion. And so applies the same stupid dogmatic ignorance to politics, as he likely does with religion...

  • @paulfornasier billy--you will find scum on the net that pretends to debate (typically left-winger boys).

A simple inspection of their postings shows that they troll for their own pathetic purposes.

    Take care--pauly boy is a well-known troll.

  • @mikefastener "pretends to debate"

Mikey, paufornasier and I have always made well-supported arguments based on facts. What do you have to offer? Childish insults and arguments so ridiculous I could fill a book full of them and sell it as a jokebook. And you say we "pretend to debate". Do you even know what a debate is?

  • @billy51020 Notice that he didn't respond at all to your statement...and said something totally irrelevant about oil in regard to Norway...and something totally vague about natural resources and Sweden. He expects it to be taken for granted that countries are not supposed to have natural resources...or something jsut as stupid. Lack of education...or plain and intentional stupidity?? I would bet on the latter...What does immigration have to do with the question posed?? Sidetracking??? Yes..

  • @billy51020 Let's look at the relevance of immigration as a measure of economic success and likeability of a country. First of all, immigration is governed by immigratin policy and quotas...how are those policies and quotas decided?? China is the most successful as far as GDP growth in the G8 at present. And yet, they export tons of citizens every year. European countries have old economies..and land use is often dense..so not much room for expansion....both urban and rural...

  • @paulfornasier Problem /w nothern Europe is the same /w Japan. They don't make enough babies much like French Canadians and English Canadians. What's extra unfortunate for northern Europe is that their immigration/refugee policies are sometimes too "fair" and occasionally a radial Muslim slips in. Regarding China, who wouldn't want to leave that country which is run by an authoritarian one party system. Their growth results from cheap and unethical labour.

  • @billy51020 Hey,,,theck out the rabble that is trying to post to you....but hasn't learned how yet...

  • @billy51020 Canada is heavlly tied into economic immigration...setting high standards for the amount of money or assets people are bringing into the country. Immigration from asia has driven our real estate prices sky high since the big exodus from Honk Kong in the 1990's. It's great again for those who already had real estate and those who already had riches....but it makes life very very difficult for anyone who is young and looking to buy a home, especially on the West Coast..

  • @billy51020 Oh...and notice again...no response to any rational or logical debate....just meaningless verbal vomit... These threads will be excellent reminders of the ignorance often cited in regard to Bush and Harper supporters... I"m still waiting for a hint of intelligence.....who knows...maybe there's some there....but it's latent?

  • @paulfornasier "first of all; (sic), immigration is governed by immigratin (sic)".

Sorry, your left-wing weirdo grammar is so poor that no one can understand you.

Maybe a Grade 2 class may help?

    Just wondering....

  • @mikefastener Your posts are so thick with childish insults it's hard to understand what your point is. Maybe a kindergarten class would help?

  • @mikefastener Speaking of religious groups, atheists like me are disgusted by all religious groups. All of them. I suggest you watch a little George Carlin, perhaps that would enlighten you.

  • @gricer1326 Not all religions are bad, a good example of one that is worth while is the United Church of Canada. They don't take anything literally.

  • @billy51020 You're right, those guys are morally sound. I have a serious problem with all the talk of creation, the afterlife, the various deities religions follow, things like that. None of it is true, and most people will agree that false truths are holding us back as a species.

  • @billy51020 I agree that the United Church is one of the most practical and progressive churches around. They were one of the first to stand up for gay marriage....even though it produced huge controversy among many members of the church. Gottta give them credit for that. They are also often one of the first to speak up about current issues. The catholic church is definitely one of the most backward...they are incredibly caught up in backward policies that make change almost impossible...

  • @gricer1326 Grocer and Pauly-boy are on the run!!!

Notice when challenged with facts they run away to another site.

    Prove us wrong, sad debaters!

  • @mikefastener Oh?

When did we move from one page to another?

You should notice that we expanded our coverage of this debate to an additional 2 pages.....

  • @gricer1326 Bizarre entry from Mikey there...he mentions that we are running somewhere..and I don't know where....I'm a poet and I don't know it.....but anyway...he puts that post right after a previous post from me. Does that actually make logical sense? Not to me.....but to Mikey, I guess it does...hmmm...

  • @paulfornasier Running...to success, maybe? Or did I say too much?

Gee, a poet and a songwriter can't figure this one out.

Mikey's up (sic) to his standard, that's for sure.

  • You are such an idiot. So, is Canada supposed to not trade with commie China, who has also killed thousands? You are partisan to the point of utter and complete stupidity..the reason why you are a waste of time.. The US has been OWNED by Cuba after 50 years of continued and flourishing business. Canadians have invested in Cuba..and the US has been the biggest loser iin regard to Cuba. They thought they could control or punish Canada with the Patriot Act....and it was such a total joke.

  • @paulfornasier Pauly boy....time to put down the bottle and have some sleep. "The US has been OWNED by Cuba after 50 years".!!!!???

Sober up and come back on this site.

  • It's a funny world. We can see the people who act like asses here on this forum....and life is essentially the same in parliament...not much different. Takes a fearless leader who can fight any kind of battle. Trudeau was classic at debates...whether he has to deal with asses...or talk policy intelligently. I think that Dion was too saintly...and wasn't able to fight in the trenches...which is where the battle is often won. Truth is that policy often doesn't win elecions...sadly..

  • @paulfornasier I agree we see people who act like asses here on this forum. After all the left-wing pettiness that was displayed to Mr. Harper, we see no shame from these..."wingers".

Many apologies are outstanding from the left-wingers to Mr. Harper and his (now proven right) supporters.

    Why don't you begin..............?

    Go ahead.

  • i have to agree with many people in the comments of this page..that Dion had alot of integrity, and gave Canadians too much credit for being intelligent voters. Truth is, Ithat Canadians who actually vote from the stance of an intelligent choice are in the minority. AND, to deal with a bully like Harper, one must be a good street fighter...able to bully just as well or better than Harper does. Someitmes you gotta learn to beat them at their stupid game...Trudeau and Chretien were good at it...

  • @paulfornasier Trudeau was good at being Castro's friend (the dictator that killed thousands--look it up if you need to) and Chretien was good at corruption (look up Gomery if you need to).

Dion was very petty--we saw that on election night with that poor CTV reporter!

Oh well, Mr. Harper has certainly brought an integrity back to Cdn politics.

That I am sure that we can all agree!

  • This guy here "mikefastener" must be total white trash. I bet he lives in his mother's basement and has to bathe her every day, and gets spanked if he doesn't behave. What a total waste of Youttube forum space.... He's been trashed so many times....but I think he'll never learn that his puny ego isn't going to get him anywhere...but more pummelling... Would be nice if people could learn to debate truthfully and with some kind of dignity, regardless of political stripe...

  • gawd did we ever dodge a bullet with this stupid incoherent frog! Thank god for the Harper majority.

  • @footluv71 Not surprised at this stupid comment from a Conservative in Canada. I think you're a good fit with Harper who has managed to alienate Quebec so severely with his stupid judgements regarding the political choices of the Quebec people The fall of the BQ actually coincided with a drop of support the Conservatives in Quebec also. The people of Quebec will not forget Harper's selfish and self-absorbed comments. Playing politics with Canadian cultures is plain stupid...

  • @paulfornasier I agree! "Playing politics with Canadian cultures is plain stupid..."

Makes you wonder why the lie-berals did it?

Thanks for the opportunity to clarify!!!

  • @paulfornasier who gives a shit about Quebec? All they have ever done is whine piss and moan about how they are being disrespected in the rest of Canada. The more the government has given the more Quebec wants and is never satisfied. This election proves that old adage wrong; no longer does Quebec have to be won in order for a majority government.

  • @footluv71 Yes,.,.both the Liberals and the Conservative have shown that a majority can be achieved without Quebec..but our minorities have also shown how difficult it is to achieve that majority...I think it's important to listen to Quebec as a province....as Trudeau did. He didn't suck up to them...but he did his best to bring then into the fold of greater Canada..although Levesque kept playing games.... I think it's a mistake, in the long run, to alienate Quebec with this separatist stuff..

  • @paulfornasier I believe it is best to show Quebec that Canada can be governed, as a majority, without their insistent whining and complaining. With Mr. Harper's spectacular victory on May 2nd, we will see that Quebec will (admittedly red-faced) learn to cooperate. (No hand-outs for hockey arenas like that crazy Iffy wanted to do.)

I’m sure we can all agree on this!

  • Sad to watch this. On a scientific level, his green shift was excellent. It would have been a powerful tool to combat global warming. But all the corporations saw was the loss of profit, and spent millions fighting him. I think Dion lost mostly because people didn't like his French-Canadian accent, and because he overestimated the intelligence of the electorate. I'm not a Liberal supporter, but I felt awful for him eventually, for being judged so harshly and unfairly.

  • @yirphd Thank goodness this crazy green shift stuff never came to pass! Can you image the economic disadvantage Canada would have been in if the tree-huggers and this clown, Dion were taxing everything?

People saw that Dion was proposing insane ideas and Canadians did the right thing. (Giving the liberals the poorest vote since Confederation.)

Note that Iggy is no longer talking about a green shaft plan in this election.

    Says it all, doesn't it?

  • im getting sick of these asian cartoon commercials

  • fuckin communist should be shot

  • He taught his pet to say ideology because he's a worthless idealogue.

  • Dion is an idiot, a left wing commie set to destroy Canada.

Vote for conservatism, and a big middle finger to the poors.

  • The man had integrity which is anathema to politics Canadian.

  • @guinnesstrail Dion, a man tainted by the lie-beral party! If only he had brought his integrity to a party that would respect it, the Conservative Party.

Just thought I'd help the discussion!

  • Dion was a true statesman. Jack Layton on the other hand is a slimy, self -centred loser.

He does not care about Canadian families, he only cares about is his ego.

Mr. Dion will go down in the history books for being an honest and genuine politician. It is to bad Canadians could not get over his English accent.

In Canada, we have stoped voting based on policy, but based on who sounds better and who looks better, it is sad and pathetic. We will pay a heavy price for this.

  • I like both men and both NDP and Liberals. It is a massive regret that the coalition efforts was DESTROYED by Harper's undemocratic prorogation.

  • I agree, I might have gone a bit too far when I called Layton slimy and self-centred.

What bothered me the most was when Layton did not work with PM Martin.

Martin was offering child care and the Kelowna Accord, and Layton brought the Liberals down because he thought he could gain a few seats.

That would have been the best coalition, but Layton blew it.

PM Martin's term should have lasted 4 years, he would have been the best person to deal with the economic down turn.

  • @sidewalkpilot Here, here! The CBC took Dion down by bullying him and placing doubts among the Canadian public. I refuse to ever watch Strombo after his mistreatment of Dion.

  • @sidewalkpilot Uhhhhhh..NO! The coalition could start again today! It is just that Dion and Iffy realized how crazy they were behaving and how Cdn's would have destroyed them!

We are all so proud of Mr. Harper--our leader on the world stage!

    Agreed?

  • @mikefastener No, Harper is a doofus on the world stage! I live abroad and he has destroyed Canada's reputation by his sheer tactlessness. The only way he is good on the world stage is to fool Canadians that he is doing well.

  • @yirphd You are wrong! I have many friends abroad and they are very interested in Mr. Harper and his success with the Canadian economy (he is an Economist you know). I don't think Canada's reputation could have suffered more than during the recent liberal corruption scandal.

    Just stating the facts.

  • @mikefastener Problem is you have no facts LOL. What are the facts around how we suffered internationally in regard tot he sponsorship scanda?? I can tell you that we suffered internationally with Harper. He managed to alienate many countries with his lack of movement on climate change and his ass-kissing of Bush. This is why he didn't stand a chance of getting the seat the WE SHOULD HAVE GOTTEN on the UN Security Council...one of many defeats for Harper on the international scene.

  • @paulfornasier The shame of Canada having a corrupt lie-beral gov't has taken years to correct. (Would you personally deal with a business that you knew to be corrupt?..there you go!)

Mr. Harper's steady hand on climate change has worked immensely! Can you image us having a plan that is not coordinated with the US-Obama has done nothing on this file!

Finally, not getting that UN Council seat shows that Canada now stands for SOMETHING! Not like the lie-berals standing up for dictators!

    Clear?

  • @mikefastener You're a joke. You never provided any FACTS about how the Liberal corruption scandal affected our Interational reputation in ANY real way. You play the same stupid game of all Conservatives which is to go on and on about Liberals and so forth ..criticizing everyone else and avoiding the actual questions that are posed..and the real issues. Harper has been a master of that..avoiding real policy and being an asshole instead. The saving grace now is that he has no one left to blame.

  • @paulfornasier I guess you are angry that Canadians rejected lie-beral corruption and voted a majority for Mr. Harper.

Thanks for the opportunity to clarify!

  • @mikefastener Oh ..and speaking of corruption...take care of your Conservative houseful of corruption before you rant about anyone else. You are not believable ...period. You think I don't know the stubbornness, insolence and self absorption of right wing politics by now?? The world is seeing it very clearly...and clear reason...regardless of your convoluted attempts at logic...that we lost the sec council seat and our reputation internationally has turned close to 180 degrees.

  • @paulfornasier I never heard of an inquiry into Conservative corruption.

We all know a little inquiry (headed by Justice Gomery BTW) into lie-beral corruption.

Love it when I give you facts and you get angry!!!

  • @mikefastener OH yeah..and like Harper standing up for the biggest western dictator, George Bush....licking his ass like a friggen dog. And I'm not mincing words about how I feel about both of them. We live in a democracy...and these are both people who have no respect at all for the workings of democratic instututions. As George Bush took a huge tumble for his insolence and deceit....I won't be surprised to see Harper follow Mulroney and Bush into the Hall of Flame.

  • @mikefastener Truth is...the only Republican that has survived his term of office in a decent way was Reagan..and I can't say much for him...and in Canada...we have to go back to Diefenbaker. Every other Conservative either lost or went the way of the shit tube eventually;.;. None became any kind of elder statesman like Trudeau...for example...Nixon.....before Reagan..was a total nightmare... So much for Conservative politics... Who stands up for less regulation of banks??

  • @paulfornasier I didn't know you were defending lie-beral corruption! Remember Justice Gomery's little discoveries that lie-berals wanted to hide?

I guess you have to admit...Canadians have made their decision to get away from disgusting lie-beral politics (Iffy certainly showed us how that was done) and move to a more centralist Mr. Harper gov't.

Glad you have joined the team!!!

  • @mikefastener You never heard of an inquiry into Conservative corruption because you have a brain problem. Inquiries into Mulroney have gone on and off for how many years now. You seem like a brainless twit..honestly. Your ego is like that of an 11 year old. You prove my theory quite effectively that Conservative dogma is for the brainless. I can go to any country and tell you what Conservative dogma will be. Takes no brain to figure out the transparent self absorption of people like yourself.

  • @paulfornasier My silly friend....you do hate the facts, don't you? Inquiries into Mr. Mulroney cleared him--he was determined to be not guilty. Justice Gomery determined the lie-berals had a culture of entitlement and many of them were found guilty of corruption.

Quite angry now? Love it when facts make left-wingers look foolish!

Hope I educated you! (You sound like a child!)

  • @mikefastener I don't give a shit about your stupid games. My bet is you're a total asshole to know...because you likely avoid responsibility for anything like a friggen 5 year old who blames everyone else for their problems. Your brain will never comprehend that Conservatives say nothing about nothing...and love to criticize everyone else...again..saying nothing about nothing. People who love to bitch about others..rather than talk about anything REAL are a pain in the ass for anyone to know.

  • @paulfornasier I read this outburst (likely more a temper tantrum) from a child.

I guess your parents put up with these and you always got your own way.

Too bad Canadians disagreed with you on May 2nd.

Good luck in that maturing journey of yours.

  • @mikefastener Honestly, you've failed to prove anything. You love to focus on your fragile little ego ,,,because your bum buddy Harper has won a majority. If you were actually celebrating like a real man, you wouldn't be such a loser boasting about your little ego prize on some anonymous Youtube channel. If you had anything substantial to actually say...then you might learn something and actually teach something worthwhile in your elder years..but you act like an immature idiot...

  • @paulfornasier Learning now?

I love educating left-wingers to stop crying and join the winning, "right" team!

    Hope I helped you!

  • Comment removed

  • @mikefastener Hey, I'm not interested in talking to you...as many have said to your before..I've noticed. I'm tired of your childish talk. Go hump a fire hydrant if you're so lonely in your misery...and need to inflict on everyone else. I was having a reasonable and interesting discussin until you budded in. Scram please! You're an obnoxious prick and nothing more. If you're trying to promote Conservative politics....then use your brain. Your little ego is pitiful..

  • @paulfornasier another little temper tantrum (you really should talk to your parents about why they gave you everything once you stomped little your feet and cried).

Oh well....we can all take comfort with Mr. Harper's majority.

Please do not respond unless (for once) you have something worthwhile to say.

    Hope I helped you.

  • Well if you compare with the americans, were not that bad, in the USA the dabate is ALL about the candidate, they would not talk about the issues to save their lives

  • Im from Quebec, I don't want independance ! I want to be Canadian, be part of a great country.

    I liked Dion !

    I loved Canada !

    I Hate Harper.

  • @LeNain030 criss que t es gay

  • Dion was and is a great man. I hope sincerely that the Liberals win the next election and that Dion is a cabinet minister. We need more people like him in our government.

  • Dion was a dreamer and an Ideologist. That was both his greatest strength and his greatest flaw. He was an honest decent man with a vision. I was sad to see him go.

  • couldn't have said it better myself. at the same time, although he was loved by many, his leadership ability was under scrutiny

  • he is a class act!!

Harper is a peice of SHIT!!

  • fuck dion, NDP alllllll day

  • Perhaps I am alone in this view, but I think Dion's accent is great. I like the way he speaks!

  • here here!

  • Quebecois women have a sexy french accent! For men... Well that' a diffirent story.

  • @evane1989 Yeah me too. It's only the small town hicks who object strenuously to an accent that is different.

  • i wish dion had won! now we're stuck with that fucking tool harper.

  • what did he do that would make you say that? last time i checked were doing preety well up here. Just look and Bushes United States

  • did you know he's spent more time speaking in the united states then here in canada since the conservatives recent re-election. AND, he went to the HOC and said "here's a bill, no changes can be made, vote yes or no" WHO DOES THAT? CANADA'S GOVERNMENT IS BASED ON VOTES. therefore, he is a tool.

  • i reallllllllly liked dion :(

  • It is good to learn other Languages.

But you do not travel obviously. I've learned to speak and write english. I've learned to speak Spanish also, and understand it very well. Also a little portugese in Brazil.

Stay home, do not learn, and do not forget to take your pills.

  • I may be an American but I certainly wish that Dion and the Liberals would have won the election.

  • Shut up loser.

  • i wish harper will actually do something instead of siting around like a dumb piece of shit

  • View the US equivalent to the Canadian Liberal Party by googling : obama campaign linked to chechen terrorism

  • blah blah blah

But you are right in one aspect, Canada's democracy WILL PREVAIL, meaning that NO Prime Minister will come to power without facing the Canadian public in a general election.

  • WHAT?

How can Dion be anything except a pathetic wretch? He sacrificed his entire political history to make a deal with Quebec separatists.

  • Oh? I thought it was 'Strompolopolis'.Not Stroumbou--Whaaaatever.

  • good or bad, "they're the ones the people sent to ottawa to govern the people of canada!"

  • the reason why im not watching strombo anymore.

he was such a dick in this interview and obviously doesnt know what the cons stand for.

dion is not a good leader. but still..

    wow..

  • He is asking real world questions and Dion is putting fourth weak arguments

  • Dion looks like Mr. Peabody from Rocky & Bullwinkle. Unfortunately, he lacks Mr. Peabody's maturity, intelligence and charm.

  • "come back again when you are ready and we'll talk tomorrow"

what does that mean? was he pissed off with the answer?

  • is a fucking queerbec frog

  • Dion is an educated idiot.

  • Dion is a fucking frenchy therefore he has no rights to lead lol

  • What Dion said about Alberta being his country, while Quebec being George's was so fantastic. We need pride and faith in OUR country, not our provinces/territories.

  • it breaks my heart to see another con government..shame.

  • I agree! Shame on Canadians in the West and parts of Ontario which were Liberal strongholds!

  • fortunately not everyone in Canada is into socialist-feminization of the nation.

  • wow. what happened to you george!? voting conservative or what??

  • Soooo strombololmoadmosmdoasd is voting conservative? lolololol

  • George was a total dick at the end of this interview!

  • The Liberal Party is a complete joke. Many of their Mps are those that never completed their economic studies and/or have performed badly in politics in the past. Their current leader flipflops on just about everything and while it happens, he simply takes other parties policies and uses them as his own. He is always too confident about winning as long as Greater Toronto votes Liberal. His party even abstained from votes instead of amending them. Liberal Party = Big Fail

    Was this even needed?

  • You seem confused.Calling names and using profanity does nothing to support one's position but rather, simply illustrates one's limited debating skills. Perhaps you could attempt to explain just how Canada is 'lucky' to have Harper?? hmmmm

  • Just ignore PhllipJFaggot. I've seen his posts and he'll disagree with anyone who hates Harper.

  • And how would that do anything positive for Canada? The NDP is so fucked-up internally that it doesn't know what position to push.

They want us to leave Afghanistan immediately, but that means the Afghans will be subject to Taliban terrorism. Smacks of racism... The NDP want us in Sudan - which has vowed to fight us - which smacks of imperialism.

The NDP is a sick joke.

  • wonder who george voted for....

  • thats funny at the 1 minute mark chretiens doing the heil

  • FUCK HARPER

  • I'm totally with you... HARPER IS GAY

  • Even if he was, I'm sure he could do better than you.

  • I'm pretty sure too...

  • As they say: takes one to know one.

  • I guess seeing him in his sweater got you a little worked-up, but this is hardly the place for your lust...

  • harper is the devil

  • It is too bad about the election results. Maybe if more Canadians had taken time out of their "busy" schedules to vote, the results would have been different. Stephane Dion is a great Canadian and is passionate about OUR

country...I would have been proud to have called him my Prime Minister...maybe I will have my chance in October 2009..(or is Harper going to change that date too?)

  • WHAT? NOW you want another election in a year?

That proves it, you are about as stupid as stupid gets.

OUR Canada is lucky to have Harper. Dion never learned that Chretien has pretty much destroyed the Liberal brand for a few elections.

  • the coalition with the bloc-NDP-librals will save the country and free quebec once and for all

  • Save the country AND free Quebec?

Those two things are completely contradictory.

  • yes becose the two are incompatible they should be in an association like Europe community instead of shitting on themselve. Its like an old couple who dont work you got to let go and things get better afterwards lol

  • No, Quebec is a spoiled brat and the Liberals are the parent who just kept giving the brat everything it wanted but now Daddy is in charge and going to bring some order back to the House.

Soon, Quebec will have to grow up and realize it's not special, that it's just another province in the country of Canada.

  • you see thats where i was getting at i was expecting a response like this of u lol. Look and see on my profile, click on my name, what my "canadian compatriots" think about québec and how i should feel about this "confédération" witch is a fédération

  • Well naturally I knew what you were expecting. The simple fact remains that Quebec has been the favourite province in Canada for pretty much the entire 20th Century and most gvts have to get seats in Quebec to get a majority.

But that's changing, and soon Quebeckers will have to decide whether or not the Bloc is worth voting for. The Bloc hasn't really been that good for Quebec - the only regions in Quebec that get gvt money vote for federalists.

  • you seem like a good man peace i'm out! et joyeux noel et bonne année!

  • All I want is for my country to remain intact. I don't want my country torn apart by language divides or separatist parties, whether they are from Quebec or Alberta.

  • Yeah, Quebec is a spoiles brat.... ognorant brat yourself.

If Quebec is such a spoiled brat...why do we obtain so much...because with ontario, we are one of the strongest economy in the pseudo federation Canada is.

If Quebec is so annoying, why do you whine so much about independence ?

  • Learn the language before you post.

If you want to know why Quebec sucks so much money and power from Canada, I'll tell you.

It's because the Liberal Party only cared about gaining power during the 20th Century and kept fanning Quebec nationalist sentiment in order to gain majority gvts.

  • blah blah blah

I don't NEED to learn another language! ENGLISH is the language of commerce, science, and diplomacy.

Join the 19, 20, and 21st Centuries - English is the only important language, and no matter what you say, it won't change that everyone needs to know ENGLISH to succeed.

  • "Enfait"? "probablement mieux que toi"? C'est drole.

  • The most fundamental issue with the election was that it was a waste of $ 300 and better divided amongst the provinces as a bonus.

Dion is too honest to be in politics and that's why he will never make it as a leader. You need a Chretien or Trudeau type.

Harper has leadership qualities people believe him even when he lies. The fact of the matter is that he did not even win a majority against Dion(the weakest Liberal leader ever) means he is never going to make it and needs to step down.

  • What does it tell you when Canadian videos don't even make the YT front page on the Canadian YT site?

    BORING!

I was one of the 45% that couldn't be bothered to vote. I guess I might have voted Green in protest, but would have wanted them to win anyway. I guess we can thank the BLOC Harper has not got a majority. Any suggestions for the next liberal leader?

    Rob/Ontario

  • The guy I like to lead the Liberal party didn't even run in the leadership race; John Manley. Michael Ignatieff would also be fine. The problem with Dion isn't his poor English, it's 2 things: Quebec hates him, and he leans too far to the left. We need a centrist leader. The left is already jammed up with the Green's and the NDP. The Liberal leader needs to concentrate on taking votes away from the Conservatives.

  • Dion needs to step down. He makes a great minister, but a very poor leader.

  • Dion is so fired... What a loser. He can't even speak english for fuck sakes, if the liberals had a leader who spoke french as bad as Dion speaks english they would be torn apart over lack of respect for their culture. 70% of Canada is english, you've been in politics your whole life, learn to speak better.

  • George seems like he's siding for the conservatives.... or the bad word "conservatives" LOL

Honestly I dont think George is a good reporter when it comes to politics.. he's "emotions" get in the way lol!!

Good video tho, pretty kool clip

  • Wow, George is such a dick in this interview.

  • On t'aime Stéphane

  • @lacirca ta gueule

  • George, I applaud you for trying to ask tough questions, but I think in this interview as well as your interview with Mr. Layton, you hounded your guest as came across as partisan.

  • Totally agree. He's an AWESOME interviewer but he needs to back off just a little bit.

  • noc at the french

only french person worthy of the vote was trudeau

    ndp ftw

  • trudeau was an asshole though

  • Way to go George, firing the questions at him. I like it....I want to see that Russell Peters interview!

  • God, Harper needs to go on the program to see if George is really sucking on the teat of the conservative party or if he is just being a tough interviewer.

  • nice video

  • I am voting for Layton, He has a mustache!!
