My PSP screen broke. So I purchased two broken ones on ebay (I placed two bids and they both won, dirt cheap). One broken one is missing UMD drivers and the other broken one is missing the door. So my PSP got the one missing the UMD drivers, and the cover of that PSP went to the one missing the PSP cover. After repairing my PSP, I sold the other PSPs, one working and the other not, for more then what I paid them for.

i would not recommend doing this. it is possible to do, but it is also very easy to break your UMD drive too. either do it the right way by completely dissembling your psp or don't at all.

I broke one of the hinges trying this, so beware. Fuck it though, it allowed me to access the motor gears for cleaning, which fixed my problem. I got the door back on and just taped the fucker, since the only game worth playing anyway is Monster Hunter.

Follow instruction of a guy that is convinced that it's the easiest way to remove it and he show how to and it worked for him is not stupid. Sorry but you are an idiot, there is always a risk to PSP repair, and if you had the slightest idea about repair, you'd know that the UMD Cover has got to be one of the hardest processes of the repair, just because it's not uncommon for doors to break, I broke mine the first time I had to fix my PSP, no big they're like $5.00 for a new one, but I didn't tell the tutorial maker, "HEY YOU MADE ME BREAK MY DOOR >:O" Because without his tutorial I wouldn't know jack shit about my PSP.

You Cant remove the door like this.... You have strp down the psp and remove the two black retaining screws first.. If you try this without removing the screws you will break the UMD door.
