  • My dad went over it i think 10 times before it collapsed hes in transport so yea and my cousin was gonna go with her boyfriend over this brisge but they decided not to at the last second

  • Just like the Olympic Stage in Montreal, Quebec in 1992 when a huge slab of concrete just decided to give way! Or the continual BULLSHIT with the Ministry Of Transportation and High Commission 'also' in papal QUEBEC doing FUCK TARD DICK FUCK DUCK SQUAT SHIT ALL about the initial report of a motorist calling in a small chunk of concrete falling from where sooner than expected, A 1/2 BLOCK LONG SLAB ALSO DECIDES TO GIVE SLAM DOWN KILLING ABOUT 5 PEOPLE! Piss poor design...

  • :l i was there when this happened. we just got off that bridge 5 minutes before this happened :l im blessed. Everyone on thaat bridge was prayed for. from me and my family.

  • How many people died? I remember when this happened I live in New York City & heard about it & I just couldn't believe it I felt so bad for the people who perished...

  • It's upsetting to see infrastructure failures like this happen, especially when the safety of such bridges, roads, tunnels, etc are so commonly shunted to the bottom of the to-do list. And these kinds of things continue to happen, year in and year out. How many American people have to die, how much damage must be done before politicians start putting this at the top of the agenda?

  • but wanted to go fast. finish the job. inport that could cause problems. traffic was open they knew they could not. Mallorie hammer the bridge. because the more you hammer the bridge .weaker. I WORK FOR THE COMPANY PCI ETEBERTO MARQUEZ

  • The lesson here is that it is a lot cheaper to hold some funerals and a press conference than it is to fix a bridge in a timely manner. We're all just statistics to politicians. If you want something to be important you've got to be active in letting your elected officials know that you won't hesitate to vote them out if they don't do what they need to.

  • Tacoma Narrows Bridge was more scarier. RIP the 13 people who died. Discovery Channel brought me here.

  • @Fletcherismine This bridge collapsed because it was the fault of the company ETEBERTO MARQUEZ

  • R.I.P

  • i drove over the bridge about 6-8 hours before it happend.. i was on the way to the airport to fly out to boston and i heard about it on boston news after i landed

  • and we cant get a hold of her any more

  • The truth? You wan't the truth? Well, as I was driving along the route towards the bridge, passing the great land of fairies and dwarfs, I spyed a very rare rainbow unicorn, and with it being so rare, i just had to pull over on my flying broomstick and take pictures with my turtle. Then, a giants foot smashed on the bridge, killing tons of people and making the bridge collapse. Thats as close to the truth as your gonna get with todays goverment -.-

  • oh my. those poor folks.

  • We might experience the samething in Montreal with the Champlain Bridge. Government made a long study because this bridge is in a critical state, but now the study is over, they don't want to show it to the public !!!!! They don't want to frighten us !!! Crap !

  • An example of infrastruction maintenace problems under Gov. Teabagger Pawlenty

  • @2cOthers Yes it was Tim Pawlenty's fault. That crook and his crappy bridge making. Dear god man, get a brain.

  • @jiverson23 - In 2005 the bridge was rated as "structurally deficient" and in possible need of replacement, Governor Tim Pawlenty stated that the bridge was scheduled to be replaced in 2020. -------------------Pawlenty's mentality - Let's push the problem down the road for 15 years

  • @2cOthers The engineers said it may needed to be replaced in 2020. Tim Pawlenty is not an engineer nor is any other politician. They listen to experts as Tim did. No way you can put that on him.

  • @jiverson23 - They said the bridge was unsafe in 2005 & & issued warnings in subsequent years - Pawlenty said it was on the to do list for 2020 - That's 15 years after the warnings were issued. Many state & local governments are dominated by Ttard politicians who refuse to appropriate any money for infrastructure maintenance

  • @2cOthers If you only knew the whole truth of the matter! These people are FUCKING CRIMINALS! WAKE UP CALIS ESTIT!

  • Looks like something out of a game or movie...

  • @MyWildman23 You're psycho.

  • Hot chick maded me horny i liked

  • @fun4balls WEIRDO

  • About a month before the bridge collapsed, a woman reported a moth-like creature in that area.

In 1967 people reported a moth-like creature in Point Pleasant, West Virginia. Could the mothman have something to do with both bridges collapsing?

  • @MyWildman23 no

  • i remembered when this happened... it was really scary... :(

  • @missdiva5678 were you on it??

  • I think it was raining the day this happened.

  • @hellocycloner- You're so wrong.

  • @TSM8088 - Of ourse it is...

  • @Castillaleon19 14 pppl died

  • Liberals have ruined the state of Minnesota enough said. Low self esteem women flock there because the state will pay for the welfare of their kids because they don't know how to keep their legs closed. They don't train their women as well as their dogs apparently. Welfare socialist state of the union is minnesota.

  • She wasn't wearing shoes?

  • what about if the stadium collapse in malaysia..

  • i live 25 miles north of here... i remember the day. i can see 35W from my house

  • @MarkScheppy That's funny, the I-35 bridge was designed by Sverdup & Parcel, a company headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri, and the Metrodome's roof was designed by Geiger Berger Associates in New York.

  • @MarkScheppy you clearly dont know shit

  • @MarkScheppy the dome collapsed because it was snowing too fast to shovel it off of the roof. and how would decreasing taxes help pay for maintenance on bridges?

  • @MarkScheppy

I'm not crazy about some of the liberal politics here either, but what does that have to with anything? There are liberals everywhere.

Our state is clean and nice and people are friendly, and there is a lot to see and do here- why would anyone stereotype Minnesota when they've never been here and know nothing about it?

  • @MarkScheppy What does a bridge have to do with liberals? I didn't realize a company was liberal, their workers might be, but it has nothing to do with the construction of a bridge. Minnesota is one of the most advanced states, so get your head out of your ass. You don't see us rioting, you don't see politicians getting killed her....hmmm I wonder why....idiot.

  • i think anyone that lives in that cursed city needs to high tail it out, turn the city into a auto prooving grounds, first the bridgem and now the superdome collapse (not that i mind it that much, the vikings are shit anyway) but god damn.

  • @Rcrby525 I live there. Maybe we do have really bad luck but besides that we have great arts, theaters, parks, and restuarents. and when people come from the west coast they say everyones so nice. You just need to spend some more time here. Its a lot more than bridges and football. Please. You have to expirence it more.

  • @Rcrby525 @Rcrby525 I live there. • @Rcrby525 haha you're a moron

  • it was a very muggey day besides that it wasn't well inspected. there was a grandfather clock in my house that almost fell on my head because it slipped off the wall as the nail it was attached to loosened and tore the wall... the same day. love gravity, it can be a friend. it does have a time and place though heh. when i was a kid i used to be terrfied by bridges in the city (i live in the twin cities)

  • @lilsweeti13 does anyone know anything about the weather conditions of that day because can expect foundation to change by weather response and i believe it idid but what is being blamed? the foundation itself

  • @lilsweeti13 it was a very hot summer day i do remember that. the "gusset" plates were corroded and failed

  • literally hundreds of bridges inspected and "deemed unsafe" are used everyday in the u.s.a. American leaders would rather give their children bmw's and 50 thousand dollar bday parties then help fix the country. American citizens are being robbed by the over entitled, monopoly creating, greedy, characterless, rich low life's.

  • @JTPxxx The middle and working class was doing quite well in the USA, as did the US economy, when the top marginal tax rate was over 90%. Until Reagan and the other reptile-brained repiglicans brought it down to 36%. That, plus the insane military spending, has resulted in economic and social disaster in the USA. Unbridled capitalism is a plague that must be brought under control or better still, allowed to die, instead of being bailed out with taxpayers' money.

  • This bridge was carrying loads that it was never designed for. The girders, beams and plates were far too light-anyone with a lick of common sense could see that. It was especially easy to see from the former NP railroad bridge just to the north. It was also built before a common consideration was redundant systems so that if one bridge component failed there would not be a collapse. With Minnesota's finances in chaos, I wonder how many more collapses there will be due to lack of funding.

  • The USA should repair its infrastructure instead of spending one billion dollars per day on its illegal wars and another almost two billion dollars per day on its military.

  • @subscriber77 so no military so we have no prstection? Are you an idiot?

  • What city is this, I know it wasn't Minneapolis. Good thing no one was seriously hurt.

  • @TSM8088 ...i hope ur kidding

  • @TSM8088

Minneapolis - says so at the top of the video. 13 people died. What's wrong with you?

  • My family and I were just about to go onto the bridge. We were about 3 minutes away from it. We saw smoke from the dubree. It was crazy

  • I was coming home from work in Bloomington Minnesota and missed the collapse by 5-10 minutes. I had no idea until I heard it on the news that night. I still take 35w everyday, but I get the chills everytime I go over the new bridge.

  • @TSM8088 I live in the twin citie and this is the 35w

  • anyone know who the chick in the dress is that keeps walking back and forth and if she's available?

  • Listen assholes, people died on this bridge, how would you feel if YOUR child died here? Have some god damn sympathy. And no, it was no people or conspiracy that caused this, It was RUSTED, now shut up.

  • This video isn't taken in Minneapolis

  • @TSM8088 You are a fucking retard... it was all over national news. You fucktard. It was in Minneapolis. You meant to say Your life should have been taken in minneapolis but it wasnt.

  • THIS is why i dont drive on bridges!

  • Painted Rust.

  • This fucking country spends money on a war to defend Israel - $1 trillion - but doesn't improve its own infrastructure.

This country sucks. I'd rather fight against it than for it.

I would honestly give anything to put a bullet through some sergeant's head.

  • @MrFLICKYOLI You are a creep.

  • @MrFLICKYOLI yeah but you would die trying to. so I guess you are just going to have to live with it or move to a country you don't hate so much. go cry some place else nobody cares about your feelings.

  • @MrFLICKYOLI I agree, except with the last sentence. Sergeants don't make wars, they just have to risk their necks in wars that are made by war criminals like Bush and Blair.

  • @subscriber77 Uhm. My Dad is a Sergeant and he is a major Bush supporter.

  • @rprince418 My sincere commiserations, rprince

  • @subscriber77 Why? We everyone in my family is a supporter. we dont feel sorry for it, and i dont ask you too. PS, a majority of my family are military, in example, my Dad was in the airforce, my brother in the army, and both my grandfather and uncle in the Navy. Dont confuse yourself into thinking that the NCO's feel terrible about what they are doing, and are just following orders. Some people LIKE to fight.

  • I remember that!! I wasn't far from that, it would of been so scary if I was one that!!!

  • its funny how the serious shit like this never makes it in to the real news

  • @zstraw87 what are you talkin about it was all over national news for weeks you moron

  • 2vonranke you are so full of crap!!!!!

  • THIS WAS A SAD DAY FOR ME! I LOST MY HOME WHEN THIS HAPPENED. I was living in a box underneath the bridge but I was out collecting aluminum cans at the time so I wasn't crushed but it destroyed the best refrigerator box I had ever lived in. It ok now because they bought me a new box with the settlement money they released two days ago and the new bridge does a better job of running the water off when it rains so I stay dryer. The new bridge doesn't attract pigeons (yum) so food is harder to get.

  • @2vonranke wait wait, you're joking right? I'm pretty sure you wouldn't have internet if you were a hobo. If you are congrats you're doing pretty good for a hobo (I'm still sad if you are). But if you're not, You're shitting me. 14 LIVES WERE LOST. How does that make you feel?

  • You heard of the Minneapolis public library right? They have internet access thats open to everyone. I'm not a hobo! Those people ride the rails. i'm a man of independent means. That means I don't take handouts. i collect cans and other scrap metal to sell! I find what other people don't want and I use it. I'm no burden to no one. As far as those people dying, I didn't kill those people. Those people were killed by people who get paid a lot more than i'll ever see (engineers & politicians.)

  • @2vonranke Your fucked up. i was on the bridge as it was collapsing i lost 2 of my best friends. i was the only one in the car that survived and your on here makeing jokes

  • @dedlykiller Really? What were their names? Which car were you in? What's so funny about engineers not doing their job and politicians not doing needed repairs or prolonging replacement just to save money/? Yes, I agree there is nothing to joke about. So because you can't accept that I exist you think I'm joking. Another question, if you were there why are looking at an event that caused you so much heartache?

  • @2vonranke names have nothing to do with it and i wasnt jokeing...ive learned to laugh at my miss-fortune

  • @dedlykiller Your such a hypocrite, ones minute your calling me a liar and saying I'm making a joke out of it when I lost things and then when I call you on your story you won't give me facts that you say prove you were there and then you say you've learned to laugh at your misfortune. Well I don't think you have because you got all sensitive because you think I'm making fun of it by telling my story. What! you somehow own this bridge collapse? Ain't no one else been a victim? Chew on that!

  • @2vonranke your the one comeing on here makeing a joke about being homeless and losing a box.

  • Bridges will continue to collapse in the us because of major design flaws in our highway systems. There is no solution besides a term construction workers literally call "Patch and Pray" in the sense that they patch holes with the hopes that the bridges will hold. The us is currently moving commerce about as fast as we did before the construction of the highways because of the traffic caused by the construction. terrorists don't need to attack bridges, they just need to sit back and watch.

  • to hell with that! and minnesota!

  • My 7th/8th grade science teacher came pretty close to being on this bridge when it collapsed.

  • 1:00 looks like some 3rd world country or something. O.O WTF USA. You think you can build bridges and just leave them alone to rust and weaken for 50+ years? THINK AGAIN. Fuck.

  • The lady was found a short after that was taped. I went over that bridge that morning.

  • welllll what the hell happend to the lady

  • It kind of makes you think,What if I where on the bridge?

  • This is the first time I saw the actual bridge collapse pictures. I was just looking at those for the 1940 Tacoma Bridge collapse, but that was in a gale, and the odd oscillations led to that Bridge being pretty deserted when it fell (only a poor, crippled dog in a car died - too scared to be moved to safety by a Professor who tried to rescue it). Here it was a large number of people, using the bridge as they normally did, without any idead of it's state or condition. Terrible tragedy.

  • where were u taping this from??

  • OMG !!!! this tragedy its the most terible bridge collapse who had USA :(

  • i live there...

  • Its a damned good thing we are building new up to date bridges in iraq and afghan communities so they will never have to experience things like this! Our gubberment seems to think its a much better use of tax money.

  • Why would ppl make fun of this saying about Final Destination, and haha and whatnot. THIS IS NOT A JOKE! People died!

  • @MrsPengze this is no laughinng matter. There could could had been someone ive knew on that bridge that lost their life or was serously injured. And somebody has the nerve to compare this to a final destination movie?! Good grief, man! wake up!

  • oh i remember this, me and my dad were supposed to be on this bridge right when it collapsed going to a twins game, then we decided not to go... man we were lucky

  • @Snowdrop45 wow..this is really somehing.. but imagine the movie final destination where death followed those who escaped it? lol just imagine if that were true now how death would have followed u

yea but seriously thank god u DID escape it :)

  • @Snowdrop45 Oh really :o Cause so was I!! In fact, I was about to go into the world trade centers on 9/11 but my car stopped working so I decided not too. Several years ago my family invited me down to New Orleans..Good thing I didnt go or I would probably be dead right now. (SARCASM) I think its funny how everyone in the entire USA/whatever country.. was "supposed" to be in some natural/human disaster. But they were "lucky" and didn't go. Get a life and stop making up stories to get attention.

  • @travisimoto I was living under this bridge for a year. Two days before it collapsed I met this rich guy while working the streets and moved in with him so I could steal all his stuff. Just lucky I guess.

  • @Ragmora Great story bro...

  • @hondatrix Why thank you. :D Btw I am not an American black man.

  • @travisimoto I was riding your mother on that bridge like hours before she came.

  • thx for the footage -- incredible hardcore incident anyway

  • just after this the QLD gov in australia ordered all bridges to be inspected. shortly after some old ones on old country highways were quickly upgraded.

  • 1:25 luck guys didnt fall in the water

  • haha aint that sumthin now they start inspecting them. It takes a tragedy such as this to make them think "hmmmm.......INSPECTIONS!"

  • @blondie20blondie they did inspect the bridge and was told they need to shut it down to do repairs and someone said no it would cause too many problems redirecting all that traffic from a major bridge, well maybe they will listen next time.

  • The bridge I am on is collapsing, I gotta go. LMAFAO

  • For those who lost anyone in this horrific disaster, we prayed for you.

  • I remember this. I couldn't get ahold of my dad. I was so scared, but he was ok.

  • Comment removed

  • no they have wings and they flew away...yes its very sad but they died probably...

  • what happened to the people in the cars?

  • @VladBlok28

I think some of them died...I read that 4 people died.

  • Did there people die?

  • more disaster more money =)

  • man my niece want by there 2 sec's after it fall a year latter she passed is a car accsdent she miss death but sadly it came for her a year latter R.I.P my niece I love you

  • my cousin died in the bridge collapse in minnesota

  • o im sorry to hear that.

  • the view of the bridge collaspe is so surreal and grim.

  • Lots of people commenting here want to blame this or that, but the fact is that this bridge collapsed because of a design flaw where the gusset plates which held the bridge together were too thin and could not support the increased weight on the bridge. There was construction material and equipment on the bridge, plus rush-hour traffic, which pushed it to the breaking point that day. Previous inspections showed problems, but it was assumed it would last long enough to be replaced.

  • I live in Inver Gorve Heights, MN, but I have traveled across that brige many time in my life. It is really scary to think that bridge was unsafe, and then to find out after that collapse, that there are bridges in Minnesota rated WORSE than the 35W Bridge was. I hear what your sayin, but the people who lost loved ones, dont want excuses, they want answers. Our Infrastucture, not only in Minnesota, but all over the US is in very bad shape. I fear to much of it is being overlooked.

  • @ccoraxfan

Yeah but the Muslims designed that bridge!

  • @ccoraxfan It collapsed from the tons and tons of rock the construction companies had stored on the bridge, not to mention the equipment they had stored there.

  • This has nothing to do with Muslims. I was not far away when this bridge collapsed. The bridge was old and wasn't Inspected properly. It was a tragedy but now the USA Inspects bridges.

  • From this they have even really started to inspect all of the same type bridges in New York State.

  • They should Inspect all bridges and I think that this has really opened their eyes. :)

  • @redghost

Bridges have always been inspected, and so was this one. But the inspection didn't turn up the fact that it was engineered incorrectly and too weak to support the load on it. Prior to this bridge collapse, it was just assumed that bridges were built right in the first place. But since then inspections have become more thorough, and all bridges of this type have been scrutinized, with some of them upgraded or scheduled for replacement.

  • @redghost777 sure we do sweetheart, sure we do. say a prayer whenever you're stopped dead on a bridge, when you feel the sway and swagger of it

  • @redghost777 the bridge was inspected properly. They noticed holes in it, but they wouldn't shut it down to fix it, because of that 14 lives were lost. The family members who lost a member that day got money cause they filed for lawsuit. Tragic day really. I live in Bloomington. Lot a phone calls I made to make sure every one I knew was ok.

  • the bridge cum and he collapse

  • seatbelt kids

  • saying "allah is good" is sending the wrong message about Islam...and its because of people like you that muslims are seen as such haters

  • Agreed. Your very right. Because of people like him islam gets a bad name. The worlds bigger than himself cause a apparently in his eyes innocent people dyeing makes his god good. Im sure god wouldnt want people wishing the death of others.

Hey!! Enough! NO NINTENDO DS FOR YOU TONIGHT! And clean your room! You're grounded.

  • lol hehe

  • Either way, Racism is not needed. I'm a white guy, and I have Latino, kmong, African - American and African friends. There is nothing wrong with me, and race not an issue, So why the hell does it have to be for anyone else. Respect Me, I respect you, nothing else matters. Thats how it should be!

  • so because innocent americans die allah is good? Your a fuckin tard. Your the kinda person that give all muslims a bad name exactly what rightnow2142 said. Stop being a piece of shit the would is more than just yourself.

  • I remember when this video was played over and over again on the news. I got so sick of watching that woman running across the screen.

  • thats why we are at war cause no one knows how to get along just for once agree with one another and put the fighting aside thats what makes the world so dark

  • owh ok enjoico76 now im a bad person...

damn.. why are ppl so ignorant. you guys like robots damn it

  • by the way why did the bridge collapse? it was too old or built up worng?

  • This came to symbolize everything wrong with America. We have plenty of money to give to our quasi-friends in Pakistan, fight wars in countries that don't want us, then build them schools, roads, and everything else; meanwhile we can't even get our own asses to work to pay the taxes for all this because the fucking roads are falling apart and there's never any money to fix them.

And I'm a Republican, BTW. One who wonders wtf happened to his "party of small government and fiscal responsibility."

  • @Fahrice Your town Srebrenica was packe with armed bloodthirsty muslims under command of war criminal Naser Oric. They killed more than 3000 Serbian civilians in serbian villages around Srebrenica. And no one EVER proved that "10000" muslims were killed. Also, most of those killed were muslim soldiers who tried to breake trough serbian Army lines to get to Tuzla.

  • look at the of country before the war while Sadam was president and look at it now... what a fuck did America bild up over there???? they demolished everything. ok so it was Afgan, ok then Iraq yeah they were supposed to have weapons of mass dest. now its IRAn ha?

comn ppl dont eat all that crap of CNN ppl are dyin here coz of that bullshit.

War is very bad thing i experienced it and i wish it to noone... we are muslims and CNN and DW dont know shit about us... Islam = Peace !

  • Exactly, after blowing up the country, they're off rebuilding it. That's what I said. Now Fuck You Man too. Maybe take 2 seconds to read what you're responding to before you start blasting off at the mouth.

  • OMG, i cannot believe look at 0:46 The people in the middle of the bridge, people who survived in there cars, That's incredible!

  • my grandpa was going to be on that bridge that day but he didn't have to go to work that day and thank god that he didn't

  • Comment removed

  • fuck u assholl

  • @Fahrice wow you're a terrible person

  • i remember this i also remember the oklahoma bridge to pip

  • Why did it collapse?

  • that's scary
