1. get 7-zip or winrar or any unpacker capable to unpack rar,

2. unpack character files to a dir, make sure its def is same name

3. put into character list (select.def) the dir name and move dir to chars folder of mugen.

4. consult the select.def comments for more information

i think you just have to put the name of the character and not rar or zip at the end,also check if the name of the char folder matches the name of the def file in it
