The benchmarking from some reputable review sites all found that Momentus XT has higher power consumption that the usual 7200rpm. I surprised you haven't noticed decrease in battery life.
the really impressive thing isn't really the boot time but the opening speed of all of those applcations! i have to wait one minute if i want to open itunes in a smooth way (without spinning wheel). i will buy this hard drive too next week for my MacBook Pro wich is the same as your but with normal screen :D
Which firmware do You have? SD25? Apple->This Mac->more info-> Serial ATA from the list, and there it is.
