  • ほとんど間違ってるんだが…

    まあ皆感動してるならいいか

  • Great video and great song.

  • In some styles you do not learn jujutsu first...sokaku taught many different techniques to different students..kodo horikawa learn the aiki mostly not the jujutsu first....Okamoto teaches aiki first not much jujutsu..same as kodokai today..muden juku also aiki first.

  • It is Kenji Shimizu Sensei founder of Tendoryu Aikido at 0:55

  • There are several schools of traditional Japanese jujutsu left today. The Takagi Yoshin Ryu of jujutsu/jutaijutsu is still taught today. It was a heavy influence on the Kukishin Ryu, also known as Kukishinden Ryu, and both have many times overlapped as previous soke at one point we close friends who worked on making their own systems more complete. Takagi Yoshin Ryu - gave unarmed skills to Kukishinden Ryu, while Kukishinden Ryu gave the other weapon skills.

  • hey kurtcobain198666 you are a moron.

Jigoro Kano was a student of Takeda so,

Judo is an offhsoot of Daito Ryu. keep your fingers off the keyboard little boy if you don't know what you are talking about.

Daito Ryu is the closest thing anyone in the modern age has to Traditional Japanese Jujutsu. Get your facts straight. Damn you idiots piss me off.

  • Actually there are several left my friend. Takagi Yoshin Ryu and its many lineages are legitimate systems of Japanese jujutsu/jutaijutsu which exist today. There are many branches in several schools such as Bujinkan, Genbukan, Jinenkan, and others who teach. There is also a branch teaching the Hontai Yoshin Ryu as well. The Kukishin family system was influenced by this system as well, and it perseveres today.

  • This is just a comment to be commenting. The japanese used martial arts of all forms to protect themselves. I respect that. I don't know of any other people that could do it better. So wheather you like the style or not. They all work a little bit.

  • good good good job of edition

  • i think the is the real martial art except for karate. aikido, judo and jujitsu are just run offs from this.

    any comments?

  • jujutsu is older than aikijujutsu. Jujustu was developed by the samurai, then Takeda revived aiki jujutsu. Karate and judo have nothing to do with aikijujutsu. Just like aikijujutsu, judo was developed from jujutsu. Karate was developed from te, an okinawan martial art. So no, apart from aikido, none of those styles you mentioned are run offs from this.

  • Hi I'm KurtCobain666. I'm to stupid to know that te comes from the Kanji meaning hand. and Kara meaning empty. I just make stuff up to sound cool. (666 SATAN!!!) I also don't know that Kano was a student of Takeda and leared Aikijujutsu from him then removed the deadly moves to create Judo. SATAN666. I also like to add 666 to my name. It makes me cool.

Gotta go, my Uncle Daddy and Aunt Mommy want me and Sister Wife to help rape the dogs.

  • Aiki Jujutsu is a style of Jujutsu. In fact you learn jujutsu in Daito Ryu BEFORE you learn the Aiki training. People should not speak of things they know nothing about.

"Te is an Okinawan Martial art." Yeah, and I'm the friggin' Queen of England. Do more research....ugh. I'm so disgusted that I just feel like trolling you all day IDIOT!

  • @rwdunaway aikijutsu doesnt have any connections with judo

  • @boehmtj research Shiro Saigo, Kenji Tomiki, and Kito Ryu (often regarded as a style of Aiki Jujitsu) there are always connections!

  • @SenseiStrange idc i already know about them and i wasnt talking about that i ment daito ryu

  • Jujutsu was developed by many, not just samurai. That would be same as saying ninja and samurai were enemies. Daito Ryu Aikijujutsu was the forerunner to Aikido though for sure. Many Jujutsu systems developed out of the need to have a certain skill set for the time. There are many remaining ones though. You make good posts my friend, please keep it up! I've enjoyed all you have written thus far. You are not scared to speak your mind! Very good!

  • There are some Pain and Crippling Injuring Techniques that have been Developed from Martial Arts Currently Been Used by the Organized Crime and Intelligence Community to Intimidate Marks and Opponents.

Watch Some Alex Jones or Adam Curtis

  • That "Hidden Roots of Aikido" has nothing to do with real Daito-ryu. The guy that wrote it is not even a practitioner.

  • nice video with music, thanks

  • love the music!!! thanks for the video

  • nice cut. and i honored that you use the picture of takeda sokaku sensei that i drew, and my yari. but you should alk for permission before using it. you have my permission for using my drawing now. but make shure, that kondo sensei gives you the approvel for his pictures to. he is very sensitive about that. best regards。馬小川 狼

  • thanks

  • why is it hidden? its not hidden everyone can know the fact that Aikido is a form of daitoruy

  • what music is playing in video?

  • I'd really like to know it too

  • the music is a modern rock version of " For a few dollars more", the Sergio Leone western starring Clint Eastwood.

  • song is in originall made by Ennio Morricone

  • my uncles name is ennio hes schitzophrenic and started smoking at 7 years old LOL this music is ennio 100%

  • The song is a great choice since the first "dollar-movie" is a remake of Yojimbo by Akira Kurosawa :)

  • One must realize ueshiba was involved with a pacifist leader deguchi..so doing deadly martial art put him in a bad light with this peaceful organization..this is why ueshiba wanted his art to be seen as peaceful..he changed the techniques of Sokaku to make them more harmonious..this is only common sense. Why would you learn from your master than avoid your master?? Unless you wanted to create your own style..Aikido is very different from Daitoryu..

  • What's with the I-just-said-up-yours-baby music?

  • ueshiba taught people daitoryu techniques in asahi newspaper co. yet never mentioned to them he was taught by Takeda..this was said by Takuma Hisa a student of ueshiba first than Sokaku Takeda. ueshiba never met with his teacher when Sokaku came to Osaka to see ueshiba He left without meeting him for he realized Takeda was angry at him..Not a very good way to treat your master. Highly disrespectful from Ueshiba, this is fact, look it up! I am senior member of Takumakai school of Hisa in Osaka.

  • Dojocho, everything you say is hearsay. Who cares about the discrepancies of martial arts teachers 80 years ago. Your training and improvement is paramount and badmouthing dead guys isn't going to help you. Peace.

  • 100% true! because of Sokaku takeda sensei , the martial art has survived the Meji-time, and thanks to him we,today can make a difference between a Justu form and the Do form, of the martial arts.Aikido today took a dansing form, no ashi-waza,no sutemi-waza,no jime-waza,no happo-no-kata.What could you expect from a kokyu nage? "too much aikido makes you arrogant"Mochizuki sensei"rest in peace.

  • This is a very disappointing "video". I was hoping that there might actually be some footage of Takeda Sokaku. The wikipedia entry for Daitoryu said that "many Daitō-ryū techniques were preserved on film as originally taught by ... Takeda Sokaku" at "the Asahi Newspaper office in Osaka, Japan." However, this video only has a few still photos of Sokaku, which aren't very interesting. Furthermore, it uses a lot of cheesy video effects which completely clash with the spirit of Daitoryu.

  • awesome video, i am training aikijujutsu 2 years, and I like it very much!

btw what is the name of music in this video? answer pls

  • Ueshiba never had the technical level of Sokaku..he stated ueshiba still needs more instruction but ueshiba avoided Tekada. Kodo Horikawa and Y Sagawa were superior to ueshiba. I am daitoryu senior student of Takumakai daitoryu here in Japan. Sorry for bad englash.

  • Why don't you post some videos here?

  • Really man, post some videos. :-)

  • it must be nice to time travel back eighty years and compare all these guys as they practiced their forms!

  • most peaple dont understand martial arts but some peaple do. most of the peaple that do are not well known but the ones that dont are... i dont get it =/

  • Great teacher begets great student... Moerehei, however has his own unique way of outshining his great teacher - Sokaku. Nice video, thanks.

    Dakila Hsuan

  • i guess you are an aikido student
