As naive as it may sound, did you know for every person out there, there is no one who thinks as much about you than yourself? Not even our friends, our parents, etc. thinks about us as much as ourselves. Some people are making a big deal of how the world would perceive them, when in fact that even being with friends and family, they're not really pleasing others other than themselves. Every single person has a right to do whatever they want as long as it makes him/her happy.
Hey there! I just wanted to say that you are such an inspiration to me after watching this video! I came out in '08, and then to my parents in '11. Even though it took a lot of weight off of my shoulders, I still desired that feeling of belonging. It was as if I were still alone even when I am out. But, watching your video has helped to lift my spirits because I'm able to relate to it. I guess what I'm trying to say is that its nice to know that I dont have to be so afraifd snymore. Thank you! :
Hey cutie! Brave of u 2. U do not need any to accept u nor any to understand u 4 what u are. U and u alone is what u need to accept n understand what u are. N if u do that, u be more happier. Believe me, I came from a country that has law that discriminate gays with jail terms,. when none ask me about being gay i just let it be till someone ask n I say yes n then? Instead of disliking me, they are still friend with me. So good luck to u n continue to be a cute gay boy.
"Amico Mio" the "Closet Kills" and I'm so glad that you're out of it! I know that your upload here is "Getting On" as it were, but Bobby Griffiths' (Prayers for Bobby) old lover/boyfriend "Blaine" here, thinks it's never too late to express to someone like yourself, just how fricken proud you make him, that is me of coarse!
hey guys...... can you guys come and subscribe to my channel i would appreciate it..... i will start making videos on how my life is and my coming out story... have a good day!!
Nice video. It's good to see some people from 'fly-over' country make these videos too. I'm sure it will mean a lot to kids in SD. I know how it is having grown up in that region.
As for your career, make sure that you don't let your friends influence you too much. I had the same two interests as you. I chose accounting because I don't really see myself as a teacher and that's all you can do with a history degree. Some of the accounting courses may be boring, but the job won't be.
I've got to mention, that in the same way you decided to make the big decision to "come out", it's also important that you follow your inner feelings about career path.
Teaching can be great, but accounting offers the potential of greater income and income gives you freedom. Just take some aptitude tests first and if your a fit, then I would at least attempt accounting. As you know, you have to struggle a little to obtain a goal for any worthwhile effort. Best of luck to you!
It's great to see young gay people using YouTube for their coming out story. A lot has changed over the past decades when most gay people had to stay so far in the closet that they were endanger of becoming a coat. These are good days for young gay people, but GREAT days are not too far away. Peace & Happiness.
I thank everyone who has viewed and commented on the video. I do like the ideas that have been given to me. I wish I had time to make another video but USD keeps me busy with all the readings I have to do for my history, english, and ed classes. Also, working on the weekends does not help either. I promise when I get time which will probably be thanksgiving or Christmas break I will make another video! Maybe more!
Nice video. Good luck buddy. Find a nice partner and live life to the fullest. You are very attractive and well spoken. I don't know you at all but you give off a very good aura.
After hearing your whole post: WHAT A SWEETHEART YOU ARE! You're going to be just fine ... just continue to let people know who you really are and they will love you. :-)
"Prettty awesome" is good way to say it! Dang, thirteen is such a frigged-up age. Dude I was in the closet for a long time and it causes depression, anxiety, unhappiness and thoughts of suicide. And I'm Catholic, too ... it's all good, bro, cuz you are who you're supposed to be! I'm sorry about ur dad ;( BTW, you're really great on cam ... you could be a star. ;)
you brother has to deal with what you had to deal with, so he's probably ok with it but afraid someone will find out his brother is gay (and of course think he is - it runs in the family right (the way kids think)) as for you dad... i'm sure he'll come around... but i'm sure it won't be easy.
You are really considerate of others and ....I'm scared ....that my life will change because once I do ..share the "news" which I have ....life feels different but ...not the same as it used ...to....it feels different in an uncertain way that has me wondering constantly .....what my future will be like from now on ..actually what my life will be like from now on ..but ...I changed my facebook thing to interested in men like 3 days ago...
@furiousjuffowup and I came out already to my family and friends when i was in 7th grade i came out to like 3 friends then ....when i was 15 i came out ot my mom and eventually my dad ....and ...now i'm 18 ...ugh..life... : /
@furiousjuffowup, Well Im glad that you were willing to come out I cant tell you for sure you will feel happier that u had because the weight is lifted off your shoulders and you can start the life you have always wanted. I hope your life is going well for u even tho life can be frustrating as a gay teenager you can pull through and move on to the next phase of your life!
People don't need to accept you. You don't need to "accept" your cousins for being straight so why would they have to accept. Anyone who has a problem with someone else because they are gay , is egoistic. Anyone who thinks they have the right to judge you can just fuck off.
@xmexdf1 , Thank you so much for those kind words I appreciate it. Its weird how much reaction I got from this video but I do enjoy what people have to say and think about this video, my parents want me to take this down but I do not know if I want to. I have had a conversation with my parents about this video. I wont go into specifics but it was pretty good experience because my dad and I were able to have a good conversation. So once again thank you for the comment!-hpfan18
Thanks so much for sharing. This is the type of video a lot of teens/young people need to see. Especially to see that even South Dakotans can be gay, too. I am sorry about your dad--it's his loss--but remember not "everyone' likes sports. And go for history/education! I teach history part time and it's great fun!
Really liked your story... it was from the heart and that is important. I came out to my family 16 years ago and it was very difficult for quite a while... now all is better and I have lost NO FRIENDS as a result over the years so that is alot of positives... Hang in there! You are someone important!

The closet kills!
I can't help but being so proud of you my friend! The world you will be
"out" in is a far less hostile place than that which I came out in as a boy!
When I was not yet 18, I met and fell in love with a boy named Bobby
Griffith(Prayers for Bobby). His family at the time was dogmatically
religious, and the pain of the closet was unbearable for him. He took
his own life in 1983!

Thankfully that was a long time ago and much has
changed. We're not quite there yet, but full inclusion is within sight!
It thrills me to know that you will be able to lead an authentic life as
a gay man, and will even likely be able to marry the person whom you
love, if you so choose!
Yeah!!!!
May G-D Bless You!
