Nice color blending. You can pronounce it 'guesso' like guess, or you can pronounce it like' jesso' like jelly, which is more common. Either way is OK.
Hi, Trying modeling paste for a project. I am completely new to the whole process of mediums and acrylics... I was more crochet, macrame and such but thought I would give it a try. Things not going as I had planned most tuts are quick and too brief, yours provided some good info. Hope you dont mind but I will mention you and this tut in my vid when I return to my project which will be a few days
Hey arlean I got some glass bead gel today but use it for my paintings... However I didn't know these things exist lol... They had other kinds as well.. Some can give you a marble or glass texture and some a concrete type texture! Thanks for showing I love your vids:)
so cool - almost like what sillfroghoneybee did a while back - well i am at an all day crop on saturday and i was hoping to find insparation on your channel today for my june tag swap and i did. thank you so much - hope you are better!!
I love your vids, because you tell us where to buy products and what the containers look like. The other thing I like about your vids, is you edit out the work part and we get a bunch of technique instead! Thanks
Thank you for sharing this fabulous technique! I've been playing with gesso and wanted to try a texture gel next, this tutorial helped a lot! Your journal cover base looks great, can't wait to see ghe final result!
Ok turned out great just a little heavy for a card so I 'm going to make a pocket card. My base is craft card stock and I used a coco browm paint.. I sprayed gold smouch and want to put a bird cage on the front what color should i use to make the bird cage stand out?
Arlene. You are very talented. I am going to have to view more of your tutorials. Thanks for taking the time to teach us. Have a great day. The background is gorgeous and I have made a list of the supplies needed. Thanks again.
dude you are the master of all mediums AR!!! you are the wild and crazy one and i'm the "tame" one LOL...ha ha inking the edges stresses me out..this..omg girl i would faint....ok ok i'm going to a -bros to check out all the different stuff, oh i wonder if that stuff smells good, half the time i'm like "high" off my projects...ok rambling HAVE A GREAT DAY AR
Oooooooooh!!! I like THAT!!! I have seen glass bead gel bottles but was not sure of how it would look like as a textured background... Now I know!! And I love it :) Thank you Arlene!!
I love it Ar! You are my no. 1 enabler because now I'm going to have to buy some of that medium! It looks super cool! Thanks for doing this video! Hugs, Mary
@ayellessnuffelhoek No it doesn't. But you can use Gel Medium and that will dry clear. I haven't tried pigments, but yes you can color it with acrylic paints. :-)

Now let me ask you because maybe I missed it, but did you add the Martha Stewart Bead into the Glass Bead Gel? so glad you are back and doing better! Hugs, Kay
@kayluvs2scrap Hi Kay, thanks! :-) You can add the MS glass beads into Modeling Paste or Gel Medium for a similar look. The modeling paste will dry white though, not clear. :-)

Arlene, this is so cool! I love the look and the fact that we can use our favorite colors for our projects. I wonder if this also works on wood (like the woood boxes from Michaels)?
@MeriScrapper13 Thanks! Yes, but it would be a good idea to prime the box with gesso before proceeding with the glass bead gel as the gel won't stick to a slick surface.
Really cool tutorial Arlene. I always wondered what the glass bead gel looked like, so very useful video for me :-) Can you tell me, if you don't colour the bead gel with paint, does it dry clear or opaque? Thanks, Rachel
love the tag/card you made for your dad! love your technique, ar! love that texture, it's amazing! thanks for sharing :)! have a great thursday! *hugs* steph :)
the way you added to the project for your dad reminded me of sand (like on a beach) and the way it layered on the project you did reminded me of ocen water or clouds in a very stormy sky thank you for the video I am off to Hobby Lobby tomorrow to see if they have any.
Arlene I just love watching your videos! You do a fabulous job editing and it so smooth from technique to technique! Thanks so much for all your work and inspiration!
@scrappermombecca It's a primer. It preps the page for painting, coloring, etc. :-) It's also used on journaling paper to "strengthen" the page for the amount of painting & gluing that will be done on it.
Hi Arlene. I love this look. You have inspired me to go out and get the Glass Bead Gel. I can't wait to try it. Thank you so much for the tutorial. You the Best girlie!! :)
So funny that you are using this. I was at Michaels just today to buy gel medium and saw this stuff. I thought of you because I remember the vid you did with the other MS glass beads and how much you were loving them! Love your work. Thanks for sharing your creativity. Tammy
Do you throw away away your foam brush after you use it on a project? Would you recommend a paintbrush or a foam brush for Gesso?Do you know of other mediums that will give you that texture background? I've heard of Gel Medium will that work, is it the same thing as the Glass Bead Gel? So many questions. I just really want to do this background. Thanks Arlene.
@mississchic Hi Tasha! No, I wash the foam brish immediately after use. Once its seen its day, I throw it out. lol! If you are using the gesso in the tub, i recommend a brush. The liquid gesso is easier to apply with a foam brush (but that's just me.) Gel medium dries clear and moulding paste doesn't so it's a preference. The glass bead gel has microbeads in them, so the texture is unique to the other mediums.
@mybutterflykisses12 Thank you for telling me the differences between the mediums and about the foam brush. I have some experimenting to do now. :) I have so many ideas. I like the Gel molding Paste because it clear. This is one of my favorite videos because I totally learned something new. Thanks Arlene!:)
