  • you know what we do with horseradish in northeast PA, just slap it on some kielbossa and call it a day.

  • Horseradish tastes really good to me!! It has a unique spiciness and favor to it and goes great with cheddar especially horseradish and cheddar chips!

  • love love LOVE horseradish. When I order prime rib (med rare to rare, of course) I always request straight horseradish, sauce is never strong enough. I like a ton of it in my cocktail sauce too. One of my fave things to dip in horseradish sauce/aioli is juicy fat strips of fried portabella mushrooms.

  • Finally you used creme fraiche. I've never heard of sour creme here in Denmark, we only use creme fraiche.

  • damn we are different. here almost an identical creamy horseradish sauce is always homemade, no one ever thought about selling it :D we usually eat it with cooked beef and potatoes. never really tried it on anything else since it's so boringly traditional here :)

  • Why not grate your own horseradish root instead of buying bottled horseradish, especially after blasting those who may buy prepared horseradish? How can you save money if you buy bottled the bottled grated horseradish?

  • @vanscoyoc horseradish root can be rather hard to find for some reason. It grows rather well in the states but we don't seem to like buying it whole.

  • I do something similar, but use butter instead of sour cream, roll it into a log and refrigerate. Cuts beautifully and is amazing on rare beef :-)

  • try it on any fish "baked " and mix a cucumber sliced real thin with some vinegar ,sugar and water (not to sour or sweet) add some salt and pepper ....perfect sider to it :)

  • That is one of my favorite things, Thank you Chief John. I am going to do a Standing Rib Roast on A BGE for Christmas. Unless I collect another Deer, then It will be Venison Roast. Horseradish sauce goes well with that too!

  • @heelrunner they are 2 completely different things however, when outside of japan, most wasabi are partially made of horseradish because its less expensive than the real stuff. If youre confused, google it and go to wikipedia.

  • @swerdy200 it's an edible root that's very spicy, but not spicy like a pepper that would burn your tongue, it's spicy in your nose, like wasabi. it's really yummy! :)

  • @Heemoproductions it's a eurasian plant cultivated special for it's root, if it's not added right after you grate it, it can become brown and bitter. :)

  • @shen5 Horseradish sauce prebought is pretty much horseradish and mayonnaise. Same thing as the horsey sauce you get at Arbys. Rather disappointing when I bought it by mistake once.
