any video of Jake is wonderful but the rottern BBC wont releae their massive store of their stuff. Joost showed the documentaryof Jake for a while buty now it is unavailable. Cant we all put pressure of the horrible BBC for denying us something we really want and not thye junk they insist on giving us
Priceless! Now I'm the age my Dad was when he played this to me, I can fully appreciate the greaet humour. Thanks for posting!! (Anyone got "Country Boy"?)
Personally, I like the orchestrations on some of the songs. It works on here and on some others, like La-di-dah, but with Bantam Cock or Sister Josephine, it wouldn't work as well.
Wonderful Jake. But am I the only one who dislikes the over-orchestrated treatment of his songs. Much better with just his idiosyncratic guitar and a bass man.
He was and still is one of the UK's 'hidden' jewels...and very sadly missed in my house!!...xx

I'm over 50, and in my experience, we only treasure what we have lost.

He was a poet really. He had a fantastic command of the English language and such a great, dry, british sense of humour.

+1 - He's one of the "forgotten" greats of English humour.

Another one with an orchestra is "Jumble Sale"

Yes, I agree completely about the orchestrations...but I'm always thrilled to find Jake, however I can get him.
