man , stages have come a long way since this Nowegian car park. You don't see many ladders on stage like that....HAHA. The Stones definitely paid their dues.
AMAZING! Nothing against The Beatles, but why is it that old Stones footage looks ten times more interesting than Beatles' ? Looking back you can realy sense that these 5 guys touched a raw nerve in society. No small wonder that Brittish authority tried to kill them off. And hell yeah,it's Brian Jones' insight that started this ball rolling.
It's him that all these girls are emulating.
It's a miracle that 3 of 'm,are still at it. (As a highly successful cabaret act, that is).
@PAULLONDEN watching the stones on stage those days....sooooo much more cooler than the beatles....the beatles looked like a bunch of nervous stiffed cake figures reducing their pitch perfect notes from their albums to mediocre versions of them, they kinda dropped the ball as a live band, ive never encountered a perfect post 65 live soundcheck from them, not even on the anthology dvds, the stones in their sloppy uninterested way sounded raw and cooler plus mick's voice holds up better
@theachtungtree I think thats mostly because the beatles created these perfect little pop tunes that couldn't translate as well to the stage as they could in your living room, ya know? As opposed to the stones whose live shows were a whole other trip. Keith never played the same riff twice. The stones were much more rock n' roll, and about feeling.
@TheBrownRabbit agreed, i think revolver was too much for them, tremendous album, on my list one of the greatest pop rock records from the 60s....what really bothered me is that i always wanted a live version of she said she said or i'm only sleeping....and it's not even THAT difficult, i mean lots of bands were doing their thing as much difficult it looked but i kinda agree with you at some point cause i think they could have never handle tomorrow never knows per se
@theachtungtree haha, yeah. I think the closest you're gonna get with a live version of she said she said is a john lennon demo here on youtube, which is worth checking out but certainly not a live version of the finished song.
@PAULLONDEN Ummmm. Maybe because everyone and their mother has SEEN footage like this of the Beatles and yet very few people have seen early footage of the Stones.
