Wow you guys. Way to demonstrate why Youtube comments are the absolute shit hole of the internet. What they're doing is called Motion Capture which is what a shitlode of games and movies do to save money on special effects. They get actors to preform actions and then take the footage and apply CG ontop of the live-action footage. It helps capture the real motion of humans.
So, the reason why the outfits and actors look nothing like the game counterparts is because IT DOESN'T MATTER.

Watch videos of how Motion Capture works, and you'll see that they wear suits with tracking balls on it. Those balls are there to represent the character's motion for those specified points while I think a camera or something captures the data for it using those points.

That's why people are complaining, coz these guys are SUPPOSED to look like the characters for the commercial. If it was motion capture, they wouldn't be in costume, they'd be wearing the special suits with the tracking balls all over them. So, now you are the one who looks silly.

ok red queens handle thing that hangs off is way to far away, they dont have ruben langdon in there, and neros arm looks like they tried way to hard to recreate it.

Dante was modeled after Reuben Langdon. They are indentical except for the silver hair. Langdon is also a martial artist. And last time I checked he was also the DMC3 & 4 producer as well as the voice of Dante. They don't need to find anyone hes as close to Dante your going to get.

Well, the fact I am an DMC fan, I had high expectations TT^TT since I am an anime Fan too. I just hope the Novels and manga are good =.=; or I'll just stick with the game, plain simple XD
Maybe, but, I was 11 when it came out o.o! DMC, the game, I played a yrs after,when I was 12, bc I was too scared T.T! So basically: u play the first one, which was phenominal, then the 2nd one...I cried at how bad they messed up dante and my bff just fell asleep on it =.=, story lacked so much ; then I played the 3rd who was too hard, then 3rd:SE that was as fun as hell, pretty and just plain awesome! then I played the 4th one: was fun ^^, yet I wished it was more on Dante then Nero =.=;
So after all of this, I told myself ok lets watch the anime! ^__^!

I wished the Devil trigger was longer and hell, abigail didn't last 30 sec against Dante, when its suppose to be equal or as strong as mundus. So no, anime was cut short and spoiled. Good to watch once, but re-watch-abilitie suffers. Its like, shiet, only episodes that were good was like, 1 to 5 after that, major gayness ^_^
Some times ads like these can gen up a lot of buzz but I still have to say that this still doesnt beat the old live action Mortal Kombat 2 commercial.
Okay, this will sound gay,but.. The guy who plays James in Twilight, Cam Gigandet, could probably play a good Dante or Nero.. Get off the low budget shit and get Michael Bay man!
How about we just get Reuben Langdon to be Dante.. he is the voice and motion capture.. that's the BEST Idea. For Nero.. if they can get Johnny Young Bosch to look like Nero another great idea as he was voice and motion.. and well vergil would be difficult.. but anyways.. if not Live action.. make it CGI or Anime

@joniwhytestar The japanese have a different style of doing things. To the japanese, or version probably isn't as good. To us however, it's better when hollywood style actors get a hold of it, because it looks more natural to us.
Like- seeing Jet Li in Die Hard instead of Bruce Willis for us, would be awkward. But seeing bruce Willis in a kung fu movie would be even more out of place.
There has never been a Japanese voice actor for Dante in any of the DMC videogames. The Japanese games only contain japanese subtitles. Besides that the Anime had Japanese Voice actor and that's it.
Yes he has the white hair, but the designer spefically meant him to speak english, he felt that japanese did NOT suit the feel of Dante. If you read up on the character profiles of Dante online you will notice on every site they say the same thing.
He has ONE japanese VA, and that was in the anime, other then that he was voiced by several americans, one of which motion capped as him in the last two games.
@joniwhytestar Tomb Raider wasn't too bad- but it had no story. The games have a story and are geared towards the actual TOMBS. TR the movie was like let's put Jolie in short shorts and let her run around. Make sure you get a shot of the boob jiggle!
now you know... it's not that easy to make an awesome game.

the only way the DMC movie will be good is if they have the people who do the VO work and mo cap work for the characters in the movie

reuben does the motion capture and the voice work for dante. dante is also modeled after him the only difference is reubens hair is blonde and dantes is white

Maybe, but, I was 11 when it came out o.o! DMC, the game, I played a yrs after,when I was 12, bc I was too scared T.T! So basically: u play the first one, which was phenominal, then the 2nd one...I cried at how bad they messed up dante and my bff just fell asleep on it =.=, story lacked so much ; then I played the 3rd who was too hard, then 3rd:SE that was as fun as hell, pretty and just plain awesome! then I played the 4th one: was fun ^^, yet I wished it was more on Dante then Nero =.=;

look, I have an OPINION bout it, ur - points dun do shiet to me o.o, BECAUSE they could HAVE made the Anime BETTER, A LOT BETTER ^_________^!
I wished the Devil trigger was longer and hell, abigail didn't last 30 sec against Dante, when its suppose to be equal or as strong as mundus. So no, anime was cut short and spoiled. Good to watch once, but re-watch-abilitie suffers. Its like, shiet, only episodes that were good was like, 1 to 5 after that, major gayness ^_^

How about we just get Reuben Langdon to be Dante.. he is the voice and motion capture.. that's the BEST Idea. For Nero.. if they can get Johnny Young Bosch to look like Nero another great idea as he was voice and motion.. and well vergil would be difficult.. but anyways.. if not Live action.. make it CGI or Anime

Or even like Sin City, have the real actors (whom you can tweak with CGI) on screen with the green screen behind them. I think the blend would do nicely. Besides, have you seen some of the CGI they're doing now? You'd never know it's not real. Watch the Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood trailer- it's like a damn REALY movie.

@XESHADOWX I'd love to see DMC be a movie. But I want some damn PLOT- I love DMc, but like, I get all worked up cause Dante's royally feeding me my ASS in DMC 4 just for him to go 'oh yeah, and keep the sword.' Ya know... cause we didn't just have a huge hissy fit over it or anything.

@pauri100 I think this was like teaser stuff- cause that's not Bosch, or Langdon. Howeer, in later commercials I'm pretty sure they put langdon in there. Actually- if he beffed up just little bit like he did for RE5, he'd be an even more kickass Dante.

yes but its the fault of the japanese. they always make their characters with big eyes, and americans have bigger eyes actually (no offend, asiatic eyes are cute)
and dmc chars look more american anyway. and also hollywood has best actors that ive seen in the world.
just because hollywood is making bad live action movies doesnt mean that others can do better, i mean watch death note movie, it sucks totally hardcore mega style...

i think the reason why every game character such as final fantasy, devil may cry, resident evil or metal gear. i think, i could be wrong. is it about racism? or maybe they want the character looks mix. asian with white. maybe i dont know.

@joniwhytestar The japanese have a different style of doing things. To the japanese, or version probably isn't as good. To us however, it's better when hollywood style actors get a hold of it, because it looks more natural to us.
Like- seeing Jet Li in Die Hard instead of Bruce Willis for us, would be awkward. But seeing bruce Willis in a kung fu movie would be even more out of place.

It HAS to be an american actor, since Dante was MEANT to be American. In fact, he has no Japanese voice actor, he was ALWAYS meant to speak english.

There has never been a Japanese voice actor for Dante in any of the DMC videogames. The Japanese games only contain japanese subtitles. Besides that the Anime had Japanese Voice actor and that's it.

Yes he has the white hair, but the designer spefically meant him to speak english, he felt that japanese did NOT suit the feel of Dante. If you read up on the character profiles of Dante online you will notice on every site they say the same thing.
He has ONE japanese VA, and that was in the anime, other then that he was voiced by several americans, one of which motion capped as him in the last two games.

@joniwhytestar Tomb Raider wasn't too bad- but it had no story. The games have a story and are geared towards the actual TOMBS. TR the movie was like let's put Jolie in short shorts and let her run around. Make sure you get a shot of the boob jiggle!
