  • THis is DEFINITELY my number 1 most HATED animal just kill them all :X:X:X

  • yuck :p

  • FUCK THAT GOD DAMN WORM !!

  • Thumbs up :(

  • How the fuck did I get here.

  • they all seem to start in belize. I know where my family vacations gonna be next year!

  • God damn dickfly!

  • every video of this is from belize.. i now know where i am not going for vacation

  • wat is a botfly?

  • @mrsbitchplzz It is a parasite.

  • this is something out of star trek

  • this really makes you thankful the only nasty thing on your head is the occasional pimple!

  • Yeah wash you hands after etching yo arse couch potatoe

  • Good protein for bear grylls

  • Thumbs up if you just took one look at the description and thought "fuck that"

  • Watching this makes my skin itch.

  • omg! more than one???!!!!! its hurt!

  • I wonder why he did not keep it inside because of it's proven antibiotic properties?

  • I guess this is one "friend" he won't regret losing.

  • Wtf don't put it in rue hand it'll get into it

  • I was waiting for it to dive into her hand.

  • he had more than one?!

  • You can use duct tape; plug the breathing hole by covering it and they die, then you pull them out just as you did there.

  • hey if u have a larva in ur head bt u have long hair do i havr to cut iu D= plz awnser my question

  • @oscarin8181 dude, you like have to shave off the affected area ;S its so not cool haha

  • nxt time wash ur head

  • @tech4156 Washing your head doesn't have to do anything with a botfly. I don't study this, but I have enough common sense to know that this was an insect bite.

  • Could he feel them growing and moving in his head?

  • @RoadyDean91 yes, people do feel bot fly larva moving. they could even hear them eating and screeching inside their head.

  • @RoadyDean91 He was in pain. He didn't know what was going on inside.

  • uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

  • i'm almost vomiting

  • if you pause at 0:48 it looks like he has alot D:

  • belize seems to be famous for its infamous parasitic bot flies!! well. the flys leave their eggs on mosquitos and when the mosquitos begin sucking blood, eggs will fall off and i think from the heat the eggs will hatch and then make an incision in the skin and then live off its host till whenever.

    grody, i know!

  • iiiiiiiiiiiiwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • how did you know there werent maybe more of them in there?

  • @MissQuietGirl They had made breathing holes on the outside of his head. We were worried there were more too! However, it's been 2 years now and no more botflies!

  • @rmajmkbishop6 Don't you just love mosquitoes!

  • Wowie, that was a big'n

  • I think my horse has one of these in his back. Do you have to wait to take them out until they mature or can you do it when they are still small?

  • @zmuleskinner you can do it when its small. but because its a horse, id get a vet to do it... just in case the horse reacts badly.

  • @zmuleskinner From what we have read, they eventually come out on their own.

  • Ppl need to stop going to Belize!! Because it seems lyke everytime someone goes to belize they get botfly larvae in them!! My bro went to belize and when he came home he had a lump thing on the side of his head with a hole in it. And he went to the doctor and they took out three botfly larvae!! He said it hurt. I bet it did.

  • thats def one fo the biggest ones ive seen ouuuch

  • theres new types of botflies caslle RObotflies

  • Ha...... I've seen a lot of these videos.......and its always after a person goes to Belize that they come back with botfly larva

  • im glad i dont live in the south with those demon bot flys ew there crazy

  • and the doctor could not even figure this out...dumb ass!!

  • Oh God...it's like a cork with a string attached to it!

  • It looked like he was going to rip it and it is dangerous if u do it wrong

  • omg D: isnt that dangerous?

  • one reason to not shave your head..

  • doesn't matter, hair or not, botfly doesn't discriminate

  • Then I was CLEARLY wrong :(

  • Oh God! That's terrible...

  • dude i want 1

  • jajajajajaja

  • It's really unfortunate that the doctor didn't recognize what it was. Human beings are traveling more than ever before, and I think doctors need to be more educated about the diseases you can pick up from abroad.

  • @SpiritTwilight - Well, that's a very sexist thing to say. Why don't we have to learn about diseases picked up from adude......... :0

  • @Blackhawkflygirl I think you responded to the wrong person

  • @SpiritTwilight - LOL, I was making a bad joke. You said learn about diseases from abroad, and the horrible joke was why don't you have to learn about diseases from adude? (get it?) Bad, I know. I don't usually make dumb jokes like that, lol. :)

  • @SpiritTwilight haha "the diseases you can pick up from a-BROAD" ha

  • Those botflies are real arseholes.

  • ass-breathers too, no kidding, their spiracles are in their anus

  • that must have felt good to take that out

  • Man, I'm hungry. Is anyone else hungry?

  • @rockhead261 i am now, after watching this

  • @rockhead261 Yeah I'm hungry too!

  • @rockhead261 Man, I may never eat again. blah

  • @rockhead261 yea i could go for some tuna

  • im glade i didnt get one in peru

  • that was really long!!!

  • thats what she said.

  • thats as close as a male will ever be to giving birth :)

    its beautiful

  • In Africa, you will notice the wealthy people have all their clothes ironed, especially in cities. That's to kill the eggs/larvae. I don't think bug spray works. I think the flies lay eggs in the clothing fibers & when a person dresses then sweats, the larvae burro into the skin & grow.

I saw one on a friend's foot, likely from his un-ironed socks.

When I was in Africa I wore sandals ALL the time & paid a bit extra for the ironing.. it's worth it & to westerners it's still incredibly cheap.

  • Yes, we tried many things. My husband got tired of waiting. He wanted them OUT!!! Even though it hurt REALLY bad when they came out, he said it was worth it just to have them out!

They are spines all around their body. It was VERY painful!

  • Spines and those two oral hooks that they feed with:ouch: After all that, would you all revisit Belize or any other points south of the border?

  • they are not scared of light i assume it's because it was dark out

  • that was one of the biggest ones ive seen on this

  • why are they doing this by flashlight. are botflys scared of the light?

  • We just wanted a better look at it. This was done in a living room with lights on. It just looks like it was done at night because the lights in the living room were not bright enough.

  • @rmajmkbishop6 Dark living room much? :)

  • gosh.. sorry about this

  • Be careful of wet clothes that are left to air dry. Flies will lay their eggs on it an the eggs hatch when coming in contact with skin.

  • what a story. Glad to hear he's okay. Now I'm going to make sure I'm careful when I start travelling again! lol

  • Amazing story and video!

  • It looks like a little alien from AVP. Haha

  • We had a very sick kitten and we noticed a hole in his neck and it was one of these. We had an old syringe (like for baby medicine and such) and when the botfly came up for air we sucked it out and then dropped some betadine into the little hole. The kitten lived to be a very old cat.....

  • When they get the bot fly out its like ahhhhhhh

  • Yeah the peace corps does'nt ever tell you about this. HAHA

  • oh Damnn.. and I used to complain about the lil mosquitous I have here in Curacao!! But now I know what I should be gratefull for !

  • BELIZE BOTFLY?

  • your meant to starve them of oxygen. They have spike like rim's around their body, which when pulling on the botfly, stab into the surrounding tissue. This further lodges the botfly and causes more pain.

  • @McAsherz After finding out what was in his head, he didn't care! He wanted them O-U-T!!

  • Suddenly, i feel very comfortable with our tiny mosquitos we have here in sweden, i will never go abroad again.

  • lol

  • OMG thats grose

  • omg *pukes* grossness

  • Indeed.

  • Dear god!!!!!!!!!! I hope repellent will keep these flies away! *shudders*

  • Same here , and so paranoia sinks in, luckly though, its more common in central america.. im in eng, and know im relitivly safe, but it scared me like hell 1

  • OK i am NEVER going to belize EVER!!! every video i watch of these things are from there! and that looked painful yet awsome and im glad he was able to get it out! =D

  • LOL!!!

  • or it could be an army ant. they build structures with their own bodies to get to places, and the best thing is THEIR BLIND

  • This is serious. That is a disgusting bug called the Bot Fly. But hey it could be worse. It could be a Japanese Giant Hornet.

  • HEY I GOT THOSE SAME KIND OF TWEEZERS!!

  • Hey he could be on that show "Monsters Inside Me" on Animal Planet haha

  • after i got that thing out of my head i would stamp on it tbh.

  • ohh right...so just releasing some of the pent up white power anger you got then?

  • wats that about?

  • Do you have to get stitches after it is removed?

  • first off if you want it yes.

second, it depends on how big the larva is,

  • i'm his brother n law. no he didn't have to get stitches... it did bleed like crazy for a little bit... but nothing serious.

  • No, the holes just closed up. There is a tiny scar where one of the holes was.

  • @Cooplchick67

its like a needle hole not a large incision..

  • are those things like .. alive ??

  • hell yea they are... nasty little buggers

  • "bare"

  • oh yeah thats smart but the burrowing animal u pulled out of some guys head then put it on your bear hand.

  • it's not like just by touching it, it could burrow all the way into his own skin. it's called killing the larva

  • weird..the same exact story was on the animalplanettv channel on youtube...

  • Go figure, you go to a walk-in clinic they tell you one thing. You go to the doctor he/she tells you something else. Story of my life

  • wow, it must've felt good when it got out, and literally, it must feel good to have a lump out of ur head ;]

  • its like operation, dont touch the sides!

  • BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    lol

  • that looks fun to pull out

  • wow... this soo beats rapchop.. :D

  • Those two Dr's should have forced botfly infections......what bad Dr's!!

  • No Dr. in the states knows how to deal with these, they're not native to the country. Only in Central America where the climate gets more tropical. Most Dr.s here would have never had need to see a botfly larva.

  • Actually that's not quite true. Botflies in the states usually go after sheep and such and it's most vets that see them- but they are here.

  • N.America has certain botflies-you're right though; vets deal with them. N..American botflies seem to exclusively use animals as hosts. When an American gets a botfly larva, they were likely recently in S.America. Even though the Human botfly larvae are SICK, the N.American ones that infest animals seem 50X more disgusting. Watching them writhing and undulating out of a dead animal...UGH. They're big, like the size of a quarter, and there'll be 5 of 'em in a baby squirell. I HATE parasites!

  • me too. lol parasites are nasty

  • 1 out of 3 u.s. Americans have some type of parasite (im American). They say that all other countrys see more cases.Which means where you live is probably 2 out of 3 people. The thing is,these type of parasites are so insignificant that they go unnoticed, and you wouldn't know you have them.

  • are they dangerus i mean should i check it out in the hospital or something ?

  • no no,there is actually a parasite that everybody has that we need to live, they live in and on our skin and eat our dead skin cells etc. If you had a harmful parasite, you would probably know. It's the fact that most parasites are virtually harmless is the reason why most people don't know they have them. Don't worry about it.

  • no only if u cant get it out but if you use vasaline and cover it the next day you could just sqeeze them out because they have not had and oxygen so they are weak

  • well dude, depends where it is,but i dont think it can kill you

  • a bot fly from hell!!! wtf!!

  • looks like it hurt like hell

  • Congratulations its a boy :D

  • lmao nice one

  • why not, it's out now.

  • how do u get these worms?

  • the fly captures a mosquito, then the lays its eggs on the mosquito... when the mosquito bites you the eggs drop off and burrow into the hole made by the mosquito. they then grow, feasting on your flesh until they mature and eat their way out of your skin. they then drop into the dirt where they build a cachoon and fully mature into a fly............................ when i was 15 years old i had two of them in my scalp... they were so deep i had to have them surgically removed

  • they dont burrow into the holes left by mosquito. they fall on you becasue of your body heat and burrow into your skin themselves. they can come from house flys as well.

  • Two? Had you been trekking Belize also?

  • Did holding that sucker in the palm of your hand hurt at all, given the presence of those spines?

  • My brother in law said that it felt a little like sand paper. He said it didn't hurt.

  • Ah, so it wasn't you doing the pullin'. Take it you're no Tammy Wynette fan either.....

  • i wish i had a botfly in my face

  • But back to THE VIDEO

    that's crazy!

  • Because maybe things just HAPPEN and sometimes people don't LISTEN?

And even if people don't believe in a God, can they not agree that life is filled with trials and events that just CAN'T be explained?

    Internet is srs business. :)

its amazing how these conversations end up in the oddest places

  • Thank you God?? If a God why did he get the problem in the first place............???

  • Even God created the botfly! We were just happy that we figured out what was in my husband's head, as I am sure you would be very grateful if it were you. We thank God because we acknowledge His existence and feel he lead us to the right people at the right time.

  • thanks for sharing the cool video though!

  • You athiest make me laugh, Ive been through hell in back, drug addiction, heartbreak, loss of everything and if it werent for God I would have killed myself long ago. But youll all see soon enough what God can do, either when you have no where else to turn or another way, but he'll always be there waiting for you and he will forgive you.

BTW Rmaj this video is awesome and I loved the background story, and im very happy God lead you to the right person :D

  • wtf is dat dang

  • long ass description u got there lol

  • lmao

  • its wierd cuz i read the whole thing..............but that sucks what happened...oh well there out now

  • how did dat thing fit between ur skin and ur skull?

  • Would bug spray really keep them off of you (I realize it's the mosquito biting and simultaneously injecting the larvae, but still...)? Are there bug sprays that are super effective without being super toxic to everything? I will never go to Belize or Costa Rica now, probably!

  • it is nearly impossible to not get one of them unless you wear full body clothing and in the heat that it in Belize and Costa Rica would make you pass out.

  • your an idiot nothing can happen if it's in your hand

  • Wow I didn't know humans could get infected with those. My family lives in the country and we had a cat one time who got one of those in her head. It was so gross. I can't even imagine how much that must have hurt!!

  • yeah everyone one get get them damn things human and animal

  • This is great footage! Good pressure, and steady hands. We feel bad for the guy who had to sit through that. What a champ! Next time use bug spray :)

  • That is AWESOME!!! thanks for posting for all too see
