Maybe it's better and more to the point to read up on how and why swords broke during battle and then do some controlled testing ?
I agree! Slapping a sword over a object is asking for the loss of and eye!! Unless your going for that ronin eyepatch look dont do it!

I think that it is a great sword by technique of the present age.
It is a very good experiment.
Please try to do an experiment to knock on in a metal stick from a side of Mune(Mine) if you don't mind.
I individual thinks that it is more practical than a sword of Japanese traditional preparation when it not break thereby.
