i have used this stuff and it seems to break loos sticky valves and tapping problems. i would use this b4 i would use slick 50 or lucas. very goos stuff.
I use about a pint per tankful on every fill up. I also use it with Synthetic oils, I recently changed out my oil pan gasket on my truck with over 270k miles and everything looked like new.
No surpises here and the truck is still running stronG!!!
If your fuel injectors are clogging, replace them. If your oil is sludging, you are using the wrong type or not changing it enough. If your engine is ticking, it is damaged. If your budget won't support engine repair costs, you can't afford to drive. Marvel Mystery oil wont bail you.out. You can really impress your date if you use it and then break down in the snow and get stranded, but she is probably smart and has a cell phone to call for rescue.
leave the quart of Marvel in with oil til the next oil change....4,000 miles. I've used Marvel in my 1997 Toyota 4Runner since it turned 100K on the odometer. It has 180K now. Runs like a champ. Use 1/5th of the quart in you fuel too.
Lots of folks have been using TC-W3 oil as a fuel additive - 1oz to every 5 gallons of gas. The general feeling is that it works better than Marvel Mystery Oil. It's cheaper too - $10 a gallon at Walmart.
I am wondering if mmo would help clean the iac valve on the 2000 suzuki esteem I just bought by adding it to a nearly empty gas tank and then filling it up. Any answers would be helpful. Im only looking to find out whether or not iac valve motor is bad.
mmo works great in the gas and no,its not the same as atf. I know because i used atf in the gastank on my 94 chevy cavalier a few years ago and it burnt out my cat converter. Mmo didnt do that after replacing the converter.
Okay so I'm a little confused... I just bought this stuff and it says on the back to put it in my oil at my next oil change and leave it, while some people on here advise to change the oil at about 200-300 miles.... is it safe to just change my oil and leave it in? I drive a 1996 Saturn with 144k miles if that helps
Once your engine oil stays clean to the 2000 mile mark then it's probably cool to add a little bit to the fresh engine oil, maybe 10 OZ. Still would use STP oil treatment or Lucas Heavy Duty Oil Stabilizer to add viscosity. It's just too thin, but it's an amazing solvent oil...clean oil is a beautiful thing. Lubrication is the key to engine life, I've recently rebuilt a diesel 7.3 by my own hands with a "teacher." If you know the inside works you will never starve your vehicle of clean oil.
However, I drove from Atlanta to Seattle on a Nissan Frontier, I used about 2 gallons of MMO on a 7,000 mile trip. About 4-10 ounces for 17 gallon tank. I found no increase in mileage between using and not using it. I probably cleaned the injectors and fuel system before I even left on the trip, but do not think it will increase miles during constant use. Use it perhaps as maintenence occassionally I has it has great solvent capabilites. It will a carb. when rebuilding it very well!
I have found this stuff excellent at cleaning the engine, using it in the oil. I use it about 200-300 miles just before the oil change. The first time you use it in an older car, check your dip stick for the condition of the oil, if it's thick, bubbly or cakey, change your oil sooner then 200-300. Run without MMO and add then again just before the next oil change. A few times of this activity and you're engine will be super clean inside! You know because the oil then stays golden longer.
If your car is in the 100,000 mile + range, your engine is going to be pretty dirty. Cleaning the inside of your engine is debatable as to being a good idea or not. If you vehicle takes 5-6 quarts, dump a quart of MMO. But watch out, check you dipstick, it cleans very much. Don't drive too long after it's done it's cleaning. If you've got a diesel then dump a couple quarts of MMO. However, you might want to add some STP engine treatment at the same time to add viscosity to the MMO.
I disagree with putting it in with fresh oil, unless you want to clean it soon. When you do put it in and drive 200-300 miles I would buy some engine flush solvent at walmart (cheapest). It's good for idle only, 5-10 minutes before changing your oil. It's possible to get a 150,000 mile engine really clean inside in about 2-3 oil changes. With MMO and a flush. Then your oil stays golden for like 2000 miles. I also use a quart of Lucas Heavy Duty Oil Stabilizer as 1 qt. Put it in hot, last.
thanks you guys , i just want to say that my uncle used mmo in his gas truck for years and when it was time to rebuild the engine the guys noticed how clean the engine was......thanks
the engine had alot of miles on it , so did you think using mmo would make the engine last forever , no i wish it could , the point was there was no dirt or build up..
Do you expect these guys to buy time during the Superbowl? Let me tell you, this stuff works! Plus it does not cost $20 a quart. I have had only 3 cars since 1985, and this is my secret. Shoot, the only reason I got rid of my #2 car was because it was too small for my growing family!
tell this guy to start using decaf !!!

Marvel Mystery oil should NEVER be added to motor oil, unless you are trying to crank an engine that's been sitting for 40 years.

Anything you ad to the fuel tank wont pass through anything upstream of a carburetor jet or fuel injector...
