@9grande The Hifonics Brutus is CEA compliant, true rms ratings, higher quality construction and components as well as a superior heat dissipation design. BRUTUS hands down.
I love my amp I got the BRZ 2400.1 powerin 4 2011 RF p3 15s an it hits hard my amp aint even half way up ever since my first hifonics amp thats all I run they never let me down thanks hifonics!
Hey I have 2 of the Zeus 12 inch subs. D2 coils. 2 ohms is the lowest they can go so I was wondering if they would do good on the 1200.1? They'd get 900 rms and each one is rated for 500 rms so I mean its almost perfect...
i have a BRZ 2400.1D brand new, wil it run .5ohm stable for daily beat? i have 2 D2 RE SX 15's and want more then 1700rms ( 2 ohms ) for them so i only have .5 ohm as an option.
I NEED SERIOUS HELP!! ANYBODY!!! so i have a 740 watt amp connected to my car witt a 1000 watt speaker but i have two 1000 watt speakers.. and my cousin came the other and connected the two 1000 watt speakers to the 740 watt amp.. and it sounded great. so i was like how is that even possible??!! So i asked him to tell me how to do it but he's an asshole!!! and doesnt want to tell me how. PLEEEEASE!! if anybody knows how to do this please let me know!
I just received the brz1700.1 amp, i realized the amp require an external 160 amp fuse. Are they referring to as like ANL fuse? If not where can I find the external fuse?
excuse me, but i happen to have a db drive a7 1100.1 amp and my question is if i can link it together with the brz 1700.1, the db drive amp has the output master / input slave option but i noticed that the brz does not, can i still link then or will i have to get another db drive amp????? or the brz 2100.1 that has the same options as the db drive amp
Can you wire two subs to this amp at a 2x4 ohm load like it is a 2 channel
Amp since it has the two sets o positive and negative terminals? Or is better to just parallel the subs and use only one set of the terminals on the amp?
Wait so cab you if I have two dual voice coil subs can I wire them to this amp like it is a 2 channel amp since it has two sets of + & - terminals at 2x4 ohm load (8 ohm)?
is there difference between the brutus BRE and BRZ as in performance and technology?
I owned the brutus 1605D and it was amazing pushed anything I hooked up to it with clean power and good SQ accuracy. Can I expect the same performance from the new series/designed brutus line?
Hey man i have a questions about the Hifonics Brz 2400 watt amp. I have 2 dual 4 ohm alpine 15 inch subs and i was wondering if i get that amp, upgrade the big three, get a yellow top optima d35, and run a 1 ohm load could i possibly blow my subs. Also since its is obviously gonna b a 1 ohm load does the effiency drop to about 50 to 65% giving me approximately 1440 watts rms?? Please give me your nput bc i need a professionals perspective before i spend my money. Thank you
i have the 2400.1 , I am going to run it at 2 ohms....when you talked about this amp is 78% efficient at 2 ohms (1700 watts) with 14.4 volt..Does that mean this amp is really only putting out 1326 watts ? thanks
@PlayasWays There will be no 3000 model in Brutus. A competition grade 3000 called 'ATLAS' will be released later this year in the Mt. Olympus series.
@mikestylz96 The variable Phase adjustment is for time alignment. In most installations the subwoofers are behind you only and the Phase should remain at 0 degrees. But, in some applications subwoofers are installed in the front of the vehicle and benefit from the Phase adjustment on the front subs from the rear subs for time alignment.
@MaxxsonicsUSAInc thanks. my problem is i have a box with 2 12's in the trunk firing forward with the seat folded down. for some reason the bass "cancels", but sounds much louder and deeper when i face the box back. why does it do this and will the phase switch help to aleviate this problem?
@mikestylz96 My, have a lot of experience with trunk designs and did a lot of studies regarding this very issue. It is all about wavelength. When you fire your subwoofers to the back of your vehicle, the distance from the sub cone to the front of the vehicle is much longer, resulting in a development of a deeper wavelength. The lower the frequency, the longer the wave. When you fire forward, your subs aren't loading against anything and the distance is almost cut in half. ---continued---
@MaxxsonicsUSAInc Yeah that makes sense. So you don't think its the shape and the design of the trunk itself, the reason why the bass cancels when facing forward? I have a friend with 2 12's in his hatchback and it sounds almost the same no matter which way his box is faced.
@mikestylz96 No, I think the point of reflection helps. In the hatchback, your friend can fire up or back and still be as loud in most cases since there are few restrictions from the hatch area to the interior of the vehicle.
@mikestylz96 Firing forward was beneficial for a higher SPL. My peak frequency was in the low to mid 50's. But, my system sounded louder firing to the rear and had a lower SPL on the termlab. Hope this helps.
@MaxxsonicsUSAInc hmmm thats kinda weird how it sounds louder facing the rear but lower spl when measured. so my main question is when i face my subs forward, will the phase switch on this amp make the bass sound like it is facing rearward? u know deeper and louder, to the ear. i just hate how it sounds like a free air when facing forward.
@mikestylz96 the subs need whats called push-back ,so set them facing towards the rear about 3 inches or so from the back of your trunk firing them directly into the trunk lid basically and yes it will rattle a bit more but they will be reflecting off the trunk and it will sound like a whole new system to you
@inbumedfenix From what I found, the Kicker L7 10's are rated at 600wrms per so as long as your subs are DVC 4-Ohm then you can wire them to a 1-Ohm final load and power them sufficiently with the Hifonics Brutus BRZ1700.1D.
@MaxxsonicsUSAInc great thx i just bought 4 ohms cvx i didnt know what amp to get i was gonna buy BRZ2100 but two amps is better then one great. i will post a vieo as soon as i install the who system
@hXeDrummerBoy I don't have any experience with the Alpine Type R's, but I see they are rated at 500wrms per. The BRZ1700.1D would provide 850wrms per sub if it is seeing a 1-Ohm load and 14.4V. Obviously you can control the power provided using the variable Level control on the amp, but maybe the BRZ1200.1D would be a better option?
im really thinking about getting one of these amps now! I haVE 2 Acendent Aresanls 15'' running on a Massive P1000.d wired to 1ohm.. Been having trouble with the amp keep making noise like its crying lol plus it keep burning the end of my speaker wires so im just lookin for something that can make my subs beat harder! there 500 watts rms..so which would be just right for my subs??
@ghostraven666 The BRZ3000.1D Pro never went into production and Hifonics will be offering a competition grade 3kw rms amp in the Mt. Olympus series later this year.
i have 4 pioneer premier 3000w subs and a crappy amp that int worth two quarters. it so bad that my boy made me turn my music off with two kicker comps. would the brz2400 be good or should i go with more power

I want to buy a Brutus amp for my 10W7. I will wire it down to 3ohms. The amp is rated at 750wRMS. Which model would be best and how much power would it put out at 3ohms?
@SlayersPulse The BRZ1700.1D would probably be the best amp for your application as it is capable of approximately 900wrms @ 3-Ohms and 14.4V. Ofcourse you can control the actual power output using the variable Level control.
i just bought two cvr 15s an a BRZ1700.1D got my 15s in an just waitin for the amp i love hifonics amps great power!! i used to have the BXI2610D an it wa the best amp iv ever had even better than my rockford fosgate amp i had i wish i wouldnt of sold the hifonics =( cant wait till i see what this amp can do thanks hifonics!!!....LOL UPS JUST NOW DROPED IT OFF!!! imma hok it up lol later people an thanks again hifonics!!!
@rallotubbs1 Running below 1-Ohm will void the manufacturers warranty, but I know of guys running them below 1-Ohm without issues. Hifonics does not condone this.
Hey, Im going to be getting the BRZ1200.1 D, Right now I have a 150amp circuit breaker right now running a 500w four channel, and a 500w monoblock. Is this 150amp circuit breaker going to be enough for the 1200.1, and my 500/4? Thanks in advance.
I'm interested in getting this amp now that I know that they are Certified and have seen one of them in action in a persons system. I'm doing a single sub setup with a Pioneer sub that's 1000W RMS. I can either get sub in DVC 2 ohms or DVC 4 ohms. I was thinking of getting the 4 Ohm version of the sub and running it from the amp on a 2 ohm load. From looking at the manual I can't figure out how to run that sub on a 2 Ohm load for a single DVC 4 Ohm sub. How should I connect the sub to this amp?
@Chettaman12 My suggestion is to pick up the BRZ1200.1D and get the DVC 2-Ohm sub so you can wire the coils in parallel to a 1-Ohm final load and 1200wrms. Or, if you are set on running an amp at 2-Ohms, you can pick up the BRZ1700.1D and get the DVC 4-Ohm subwoofer which will allow you to wire the coils in parallel for a 2-Ohm load and 1200wrms.
i have the brutus brz.1200.1D. I have my choice for some alpine subs. 2 12in alpine type r's 4ohm. one is the older 500 rms, with 2 that makes 1000 watts rm wired @ 1 ohm... u think the amp would blow the subs? the amp meets cea standard. is it underrated? mybe 1250 or 1300 rms @ 1 ohm?
i just wanted to know how good the Hifonics amps are i have always had rockford but would like something new and do they really put out the power i have 2 kicker L7 dual voice coil what would be best to run them at and how much power let me know PLEASE?????
@MRHUERO1NONLY What impedance voice coils do you have and what is the rms powering handling for your subwoofers? The Hifonics Brutus BRZ series amps are CEA certified, very clean and efficient.
will the 2100.1d come with the inline fuse cuz im going to order one to power a 12" fully loaded fi btl or would the hfi2000d or hfi2500d be better to power the fi btl
@dragonsage2008 The BRZ2100.1D would be the way to go. You will need to purchase an in line fuse holder and 200amp fuse for your positive run from the front battery.
@XxMIXEDBOI25xX What impedance voice coils do you have? If you have DVC 4-Ohm then you can parallel wire your coils and subs to a 1-Ohm load and pick up the BRZ1200.1D or BRZ1700.1D to drive your subwoofers.
@CripEastSide Be careful purchasing on EBAY. You will have no manufacturers warranty. I would recommend checking out sonicelectronix or onlinecarstereo. They are both factory Authorized online retailers for Maxxsonics products. Yes, Hifonics Brutus amps are very high quality amplifiers.
@CripEastSide The HFi series amplifiers are very similar to last years Brutus amplifiers. The BRZ series is CEA compliant, more efficient and has much better heat dissipation.
@PlayasWays Do you have single or dual 4-Ohm voice coils? Your wiring options are based on the number of coils, impedance of coils and number of subs in the system.
@PlayasWays i have both two 2ohm and two 4ohm... wanted to wire up my two 4ohm.. if i wire it to 1 ohm. will the apm create more heat? also more stress on the amp?
@PlayasWays Well, you need to look at it this way. Yes, running a 1-Ohm stable amp at 2-Ohms will be more efficient, draw less current and be cooler. But, it will only be worth it if the 2-Ohm rms power equals the combined rms requirement of your subs. What is the rms of the DVC 2-Ohm subs and what is the rms of the DVC 4-Ohm subs you have?
@PlayasWays Since they are both 600wrms and you plan to use the BRZ1200.1D, you need to go with the DVC 4-Ohm coils and wire them in parallel to 1-Ohm for 1200wrms. If you ran this amp at 2-Ohms, you will only get 900wrms.
@poky1234567 You should consider an alternator upgrade for sure if you haven't already. Next you will want to look at getting a secondary battery for the rear of the vehicle. I highly recommend looking at Kinetik for batteries as this is what we use in all of our vehicles.
@poky1234567 It depends on you factory alternator rating. You should contact XS Power or Ohio Generator regarding the proper alternator for your vehicle.
I just bought the brz1700.1d today and a Shuriken SK-BT60 should be hear thursday day... cant wait to see this beast in person. Im installing the battery in the trunk of a 95 honda accord do i ground the amp to the the battery and then battery to the chassis & then the power from my primary to the secondary then to the amp?
@rallotubbs1 Awesome! Your wiring is correct. Be sure to fuse on the output positive of the front battery, input positive of the secondary battery and on the output positive of the secondary battery to the power on the amp.
@MaxxsonicsUSAInc I have a 95 Accord would the 2 batteries be to much of a strain on the stock alternator? Do I need one of those 200 amp relays/isolator?
@rallotubbs1 An upgraded alternator is recommended when using multiple batteries. I do not recommend isolators as they do not allow the combined reserve of the batteries to be used. Simply fuse from the primary battery positive upfront and then fuse again at the rear battery positive input. This will protect you in case of a short in the positive run from front to back.
@MaxxsonicsUSAInc i have the brz1700.1d and 2 4ohm subwoofers can i add a 3rd sub and wire the 2 4ohms to a 1ohm load connect them to the 3rd sub at a 4ohm in parallel to have an overall load load of .8ohm. is that possible and would the amp be stable?
I will be pushing a rockford fosgate T2 10 D2 with the BRZ1700.1D soon. I'm replacing my mistake-of-a-purchase Sound Storm ssl ev2500m. Complete waste of money. Super inefficient and at no impedence will it get even close to 2500 watts. Did they pull that number out of their ass? The system will absolutely pound with the Hifonics BRZ! I just hope it will take true 2 gauge wire. I'm using a 2 gauge JL power wiring kit.
@x0qxq0x Yes, the BRZ2400.1D accepts 0 gauge power and ground. I would suggest onlinecarstereo or sonicelectronix as they are Authorized Online Retailers for Maxxsonics products and carry a full manufacturers warranty.
@MaxxsonicsUSAInc Can these amps run under 1 ohm? Like running it at .35 ohms or should I wire it to 1.4 ohms. I'm just asking to know because I don't have it.
would u recommend this am p for a pair of alpine type r's (12s- dual voice coil). (and if so what model?) I'm looking for something to replace my rockford fosgate T10001BD, so I would be looking for a mono block amp w/ comparable power, Thanx a lot!!
@trappinmakemewet Are you looking at the BRZ1200.1D? Also, you mention dual voice coils, but not the impedance. I would recommend DVC 4-Ohm subs since you plan to use two on a 1-Ohm stable mono amp. This combo should be perfect!
@maximusslayer667 Unfortunately you can not get a 1 Ohm final load with two subs and DVC 2 Ohm coils. Your options are series coils and parallel subs for a 2 Ohm load or series coils and series subs for an 8 Ohm load. You require DVC 4 Ohm subs or DVC 1 Ohm subs if you plan to wire a pair of subs to 1 Ohm.
I bought this amp a month ago and why would the amp over heat due to low voltage drop? Heres what was wrritten earlier "This unsafe temperature is caused by lack of ventalation through improper placement, low voltage drop, low impedance and clipping/distortion. "
@MasterDJRenn As voltage drops due to the lack of current and voltage in your electrical system, the amplifier draws more current, thus creating more heat in the components. What electrical upgrades have you performed and what is the exact model amplifier you have? If you have the proper electrical upgrades, running at 1 Ohm or higher and have the proper settings to minimize distortion then you will not have any issues.
@MaxxsonicsUSAInc Thanks, I guess it the way the way the amp draws power. I have 2 Optoma yellow Tops and O guage wiring, I dont have any issues running the amp @ 1 ohms, it a BRZ 2400.1D ans 2 Kicker dual 4 ohm all 4 coild wired in paralll yeilding a 1 ohm load to the amp.
what amp do you think is better...hifonic brutus or HF

PlayasWays 1 year ago
would the BRZ 1700.1d model be too much power for 2 alpine type r's at 1 ohm?
hXeDrummerBoy 1 year ago
@hXeDrummerBoy I don't have any experience with the Alpine Type R's, but I see they are rated at 500wrms per. The BRZ1700.1D would provide 850wrms per sub if it is seeing a 1-Ohm load and 14.4V. Obviously you can control the power provided using the variable Level control on the amp, but maybe the BRZ1200.1D would be a better option?
MaxxsonicsUSAInc 10 months ago
im really thinking about getting one of these amps now!

I'm interested in getting this amp now that I know that they are Certified and have seen one of them in action in a persons system. I'm doing a single sub setup with a Pioneer sub that's 1000W RMS. I can either get sub in DVC 2 ohms or DVC 4 ohms. I was thinking of getting the 4 Ohm version of the sub and running it from the amp on a 2 ohm load. From looking at the manual I can't figure out how to run that sub on a 2 Ohm load for a single DVC 4 Ohm sub. How should I connect the sub to this amp?
Chettaman12 1 year ago
@Chettaman12 My suggestion is to pick up the BRZ1200.1D and get the DVC 2-Ohm sub so you can wire the coils in parallel to a 1-Ohm final load and 1200wrms. Or, if you are set on running an amp at 2-Ohms, you can pick up the BRZ1700.1D and get the DVC 4-Ohm subwoofer which will allow you to wire the coils in parallel for a 2-Ohm load and 1200wrms.

@CripEastSide Be careful purchasing on EBAY. You will have no manufacturers warranty. I would recommend checking out sonicelectronix or onlinecarstereo. They are both factory Authorized online retailers for Maxxsonics products. Yes, Hifonics Brutus amps are very high quality amplifiers.

i have the BRZ1200.1D and 2 12 hifonics 4 ohm brutus subs... how would u recommend i wire them up. for hard hitting bass?
PlayasWays 1 year ago
@PlayasWays Parallel coils and Parallel subs for a 1-Ohm load.
MaxxsonicsUSAInc 1 year ago
@MaxxsonicsUSAInc If i wire it to 1ohm then will that cause my amp to heat up? if i wire it to 2ohms will i still get good hard bass?
PlayasWays 1 year ago
@PlayasWays Do you have single or dual 4-Ohm voice coils? Your wiring options are based on the number of coils, impedance of coils and number of subs in the system.
MaxxsonicsUSAInc 1 year ago
@PlayasWays i have both two 2ohm and two 4ohm... wanted to wire up my two 4ohm.. if i wire it to 1 ohm. will the apm create more heat? also more stress on the amp?
PlayasWays 1 year ago
@PlayasWays Well, you need to look at it this way. Yes, running a 1-Ohm stable amp at 2-Ohms will be more efficient, draw less current and be cooler. But, it will only be worth it if the 2-Ohm rms power equals the combined rms requirement of your subs. What is the rms of the DVC 2-Ohm subs and what is the rms of the DVC 4-Ohm subs you have?
MaxxsonicsUSAInc 1 year ago
@MaxxsonicsUSAInc there both 600 rms... 2 12inch brutus subs
PlayasWays 1 year ago
@PlayasWays Since they are both 600wrms and you plan to use the BRZ1200.1D, you need to go with the DVC 4-Ohm coils and wire them in parallel to 1-Ohm for 1200wrms. If you ran this amp at 2-Ohms, you will only get 900wrms.

i have a 2003 v6 mustang and im buying a Hifonics Brutus BRZ2400.1D, what do i need to do to keep my car and its compoonents safe with that amp?
poky1234567 1 year ago
@poky1234567 You should consider an alternator upgrade for sure if you haven't already. Next you will want to look at getting a secondary battery for the rear of the vehicle. I highly recommend looking at Kinetik for batteries as this is what we use in all of our vehicles.

Im installing the battery in the trunk of a 95 honda accord do i ground the amp to the the battery and then battery to the chassis & then the power from my primary to the secondary then to the amp?
rallotubbs1 1 year ago
@rallotubbs1 Awesome! Your wiring is correct. Be sure to fuse on the output positive of the front battery, input positive of the secondary battery and on the output positive of the secondary battery to the power on the amp.
MaxxsonicsUSAInc 1 year ago
@MaxxsonicsUSAInc I have a 95 Accord would the 2 batteries be to much of a strain on the stock alternator? Do I need one of those 200 amp relays/isolator?
rallotubbs1 1 year ago
@rallotubbs1 An upgraded alternator is recommended when using multiple batteries. I do not recommend isolators as they do not allow the combined reserve of the batteries to be used. Simply fuse from the primary battery positive upfront and then fuse again at the rear battery positive input. This will protect you in case of a short in the positive run from front to back.

MasterDJRenn 1 year ago
@MasterDJRenn As voltage drops due to the lack of current and voltage in your electrical system, the amplifier draws more current, thus creating more heat in the components. What electrical upgrades have you performed and what is the exact model amplifier you have? If you have the proper electrical upgrades, running at 1 Ohm or higher and have the proper settings to minimize distortion then you will not have any issues.
