  • The world moves in cycles, and we see just such things now and again in all parts of the globe. The same flooding happened in Chehalis, Washington, U.S.A. at about the same time as in Ireland. Our flooding was on a 500 years cycle, but it happened two years in a row. Just help those who need help, and hope the next one is 500 years away. Ya can't beat the Irish!

  • paranel square my granny house !!

  • As Irish people can anyone Answer me why we put up with the likes of Cowan?

  • @hedgothebhoy

You said it Sir! How much worse does it have to get? He needs to go...The whole lotta them do!

  • well put together Ms Tracker, we were working down there last week just outside athlone i seen some houses in clonown under water past window level it was terrible and all the farmers land and cattle it really was horrible to see. i and some of my workers from O'Connor kitchens signed up for volunteering to help in the clean up on the 12th December i hope some more trades people will sign up to help all these people in need...

  • Thank You irish feker!!

The devastation is unreal. Clonown gets a rough time of it most winters...but this was exceptional. Heartbreaking to watch so many peoples lives ruined by such disaster.

Fair play to you all for helping out. It's unbelievable to see the good will of the irish, and how we all pull together in such hardship. Keep up the good work, and I commend anyone like you who is doing anything to help. Good on you mate :)

  • €10 million from your own government, €790 to foreign aid... I bet they're running adverts overseas now to help the Irish flood victims... yeah right. I grew up in Athlone. It saddens me to see this happen.

  • This is true... Cowen has the absoulute cheek and audacity to offer his €10 million... How far is that really going to go. He's hardly that naive to think it will solve everything!

  • I have heard that the damage to Ballinasloe alone is nearing €6 million...

  • I'd well believe it... Prob €6 million and still counting in Ballinasloe. That leaves alot for the rest of the country eh!!! This country never ceases to amaze me anyway... "Do-Gooders" for every other part of the world when there's hardship... What about charity starting at home?!

  • I really should say this country's GOVERNMENT never cease to amaze me... The general public have been outstanding, generous and unbelievably good to each other...

  • It's times like these when people pull together, so I suppose some good comes out of it.

  • "It's an ill wind that blows nobody any good... " Maybe now alot of builders, painters, plasterers, carpenters etc will get the odd job. God's way of beating this recession??!

  • If only the people in charge can get their act together to fund these labourers, maybe they can also prevent if from ever happening again. Fingers crossed.

  • You said it!! Thanks for watching. Hope you liked my first ever upload on YouTube!
