It's a marketing scheme, which can be used interchangeably with propaganda. Of course propaganda has some other subtle implications. Anyway, I agree with your point for the most part a crap Kid Rock songs isn't exactly some evil "Clockwork Orange" styled brainwashing, but it is humorous to see the National Guard engaging in the type of commercialism you'd expect of a video game or beer company.

America knew Iraq had weapons of mass destruction because one thing our Government does do is keep receipts. Weapons of mass destruction were sold to Iraq. Doing something with a certain intention of what it will accomplish does not mean it will accomplish that goal. The State's troops think they are fighting to keep Americans free. They don't know from whom or from what, exactly. They have a vague sense of a "larger cause." They are NOT keeping you and I free from anything. The militarism of the U.S. government, who they work for, is what puts us in danger.

Nate, "too critical?" What is the State, except a group of men who claim a monopoly on initiating violence in a particular geographic area? How can you support a violent monopoly? At all? How can you NOT condemn the ideas held by insane people who think because they comprise a majority and thus have more force at their disposal, that they have their own alternate moral reality where taking money from people at gunpoint is not wrong?

To all who say, "The troops are fighting for freedom," I say BULL! The government has said troops are fighting for freedom for the past 100 years. Are we more free? BULL! Right after right is being violated by republicrat and demopublican alike. You have to ask permission from the State to peacably carry a firearm for self-defense. You are stopped at warrantless roadblocks and asked for your papers. You aren't allowed to build the building you want "your" property you PAY RENT TO THE STATE ON.

I like Kid Rock,i like the video..have you ever watched any of his others where he supports the troops or head him talking about them!Have you thought,he is a single parent(maybe too old)so unable to join up!Ive been reading some comments on here and disgusted with the way people are putting the troops down.Ive 4 kids(boys)and those troops are fighting for a better future for my kids!We dont know the truth of wot goes on out there.Way to go WARRIORS!xx

Keejas, how are the soldiers in Iraq fighting for the freedom of Americans here at home? Were the Iraqis about to land on our shores? Were they about to invade and impose Shariah law on us all? You can't defend against an ideology with violence. You can only counter the violent acts of the adherents.
