OMG 20+yrs Thank you for posting. I am livin' this takes me back to all the clubs I use to venture to in NYC - Oh to relive that era one more time - What a time & era in House Music - club music is just not the same anymore remember when you went to a club and it didn't matter who you were it was always about the music that brought all people together as one, black white gay straight asian it just didn't matter because the music spoke to our souls & we could all relate to that - What Happened?
Im 38 and still maintain that attitude.. must admit the freedom attracts much attention but I stay not concious of the people. I know the drugs got dirtier in some places, AIDS really kicked in, globalisation, people made kids, the kids grew up very kwik, house (techno) music, as Derrick May says, was the annhiliation of modern music. Im glad I got it before the world ended.
Igot to agree,BUT im young ( 21) and growing up i was raised on house music & alot of good music. I hardly listen to the music today played on the radio it doesn't get to my ears much. I lOve house music, disco, freestyle and alot of great music like it. Alot of people say i'm young but with an old spirit.
thanks for the post, hope my post was not patronising. Funny, people said the same about me when I was so young. As my reference points were underground disco and rare groove before I got into house. Love is and always wil be the message to save humanity. House, to me, relayed this - while also celebrating the total confusion ( a phrase even Frankie Knuckles liked when I spoke with him - imagine how I felt ) of this crazy world.
