  • Oh nice. A building. Entirely unecessary. Except for the construction mafia.

  • ANOTHER ONE

    LIKE SXM NEEDS MORE;

    GREAT marvelous!!

  • Well so much for SXM contractors getting the jobs huh.

  • wtf wrong wid kfuofa...u aint kn shittt

  • This is too commercialized now. Loss of a beautiful, cozy Dawn Beach condo.. I will not go back..Loss of privacy and beauty.

  • This is the most beautiful property on the island - these three people should go back to hugging their trees in England or where ever they are from

  • One guy from the UK who is a permanent resident and owns a business and home here, the others are St. Maarteners, except the the dumb slob representing Westin. You clearly have no clue about the issue you are commenting on, go learn before making another.

  • I can see your point...it's sort of like here when a Walmart is moving into a small town or community and all of the residents get all upset because they want to keep their town small and tranquil. Then once then see all of the dollars the company generates for them, and how their way of life improves they are happy. Let's reconnect again in a couple years!

  • All the dollars? lets see, WESTIN has received a ten year tax holiday from the local government.

WESTIN is employing Philipinos and are not training or employing the young students from the island of St.Maarten.

The island beach policy reads that development should stay 50 meters away from the high water line.

The beach policy also reads that no motorised vehicules should be on the beach.

WESTIN hotel has left 7 parking spaces for the locals to visit the beach.

  • Also, the resident from the UK owns bussiness and pays his taxes on ST.Maarten.

While WESTIN is profiting from the WESTIN's name now, lets see what will happen just before those 10 years of the tax holiday is over.

Beach access: through the hotel, and only 7 parking spaces offered to the residents, locals and island visitors staying at other hotels to use the beach.

  • yes Mr. Flipper!!!! get your facts straight... you sure you aint the one got Leta??

  • Your an idiot!!! Go visit it, the entrance to the hotel looks like the entrance to a warehouse facility, its THE UGLIEST hotel on island as of right now, where in the world do you drive past mechanical systems and closed parking before you even see the entrance to the damn hotel???

  • that guy looks like an idiot! LMAO i hope that hotel sinks, or somthing.

  • Yep and all its corrupt people running it, i dont need to mention any names, its well known enough.

  • Indeed, and it's also well known enough how many votes they got... expecially that guy who says that everything he does is for YOU (yeah he uses capitals) people of SXM.

Don't believe him! Officially 5000 NAF a month... in reality -----

But of course he's not the only one involved...

Enfin, there's just no reason why I would want to go back to see sxm now. I'll definitely cry when I see what happened to Dawn beach.

By the bye, did they remove Scavengers too? I don't hope so...

  • I have no idea, i stay clear of the area, 10 year tax holiday just pisses me the hell off, why didnt they take that tax holiday money they apparently dont need and give it to the owners in Mullet bay so they can release the damn land so it can be rebuilt ??? How was that for an idea :)

  • Yeah, but it's some kind of tradition to give a 10 yr tax holiday to newlybuild resorts... God, how proud are we of our governement?

  • What a disaster!!!!
