I missed this one...the intro does have an oriental flavor ...yes early spring, it's going to be 60's F tomorrow and near 70 Thursday---yeah an "Early Spring" indeed...around these parts anyway. 5*
What a surprise! You played well-known Japanese piece arranged by Takemitsu. The 12 songs for guitar by Takemitsu are very beautiful but challenging pieces technically. You mastered this tough piece briliantlly. The lyric is as follows: Translated by Caroline Kano The spring is but a name in the chill of the wind, The bush warbler in the valley, though longing to sing, Finds still it is too soon to trill his song,Finds still it is too soon to trill his song. From freezing Tokyo, lute323.
Bloody eckers Lad! 9p for a guitar eh? yas sure have an eye for a bargain! can yas get me 3 and I'll pay for the carriage, joking apart that was lovely Paul! have a lovely Crimble matey! :-)
Hahaha!! You never had any taste in music....just a taste for peanut butter on toast!!
Take a look at Kaori Muraji playing this in the related vids. She is brilliant. She has infinitely more ability than me + a £5k mixing desk and a £5k guitar to hand.
I agree with Lady Gemma ,, its always a pleasure to watch ,, listen ,, & learn ,, hadnt heard this before , so it was even more enjoyable ,, cheers ,, dave :)
Hey Paul, you always plays wonderful music, and always you play it very sweet and excelent, I like your playing very much:)) Oh, the new guitar sounds fantastic!, I think is a very good spanish guitar :))) Hugs,
Good to have you back, Paul. I guess you've finished that drinking binge that has kept you away from the Youtube stage. This is a nice tune, but it doesn't sound like any Japanese music I've ever heard. I would have guessed it was written by Stephen Foster or someone else of that era. But then again, I'm ignorant.
good to see you my friend it is a while ago.... A lovely piece with a very sweet melody!!! I can enjoy it in autumn too!!! Your playing is really sensitive and wonderfully!! Hug Sarah :-)
What a beautiful piece! I've been looking for notation for this piece since I heard it played by Kaori Muraji for the first time. There are always those songs that stays with you from the first time we hear it. I love how you interpreted this. Awesome job!

Thank you sir. They are lovely arrangements but, as you say, very difficult.
I love the sweet melody of this piece.
Thank you very much for the words that accompany it.
Keep well sir.

Hi Paul, not sure what this was all about, it sounded like finger tourets meets Camberwick Green ;-)
Loved Dedicatoria though. Hope you're well mate, and will try to get up to Hudds in the new year, but still in Mogadishu until then!

@Gangly1 I think she's just a show-off with a posh guitar mate, she never earned her spurs duelling banjos with Tom !!

Real nice music, Paul! I'm lucky to spot this one, as YT has been on the blink, and hasn't been showing new subscription videos. Take care. Steve.

Glad you were able to score a bargain for your new guitar.
For mine, I had to re-train my thumb to avoid too much bass.
I always enjoy listening to you play, thanks Paul.

Lovely playing, Paul! Alhambras are nice guitars - I used to have a 10p (basically identical to the 9p except for cosmetics).
