@dylanadad They have a roosting spot out in Burnaby. They've been flying home every night ever since I can remember. If you get up early enough, you can see them flying west in the mornings too.
Where I live, we see literally THOUSANDS and THOUSANDS of these birds in mass migration, I guess flying home as well. It's really cool, and a little creepy at the same time.
Do they carry filth? They also clean up a lot of our human filth, I think. They're really intelligent too and will actually watch humans and even have "conversations" with them. There was a really interesting Nature of Things program about them on television recently. At any rate, yes, I love watching them each evening from my window too.
i see them from my living room window every evening :) they just go on and on and despite the filth that crows carry, the visual is actually quite beautiful.
Honestly, I'd never heard they were dirty before. I've heard this of rats but not of crows. Of course, humans manage to produce quite a bit of filth too.
@issyvoo2 sure they're filthy. they're host to all sorts of things. ticks and mites for one example. they're sort of like the rats of the sky if you will.
omg, i live in van and i see them all the time!! i was wondering what the deal was seeing them fly over our house everyday!

You know what would be great background music? "The Crow" by Tony Trischka.
I heard it while watching this video, and it was just magical!

crows are so pretty, from afar, of course haha

I like them close up too, though not when they're dive bombing me if I get too near their young.

haha yeah true
it's just the fact that they're not exactly the nicest birds, and they're probably not clean, but that definitely does not take away their beauty.
