  • I want to see the truck pull on the dyno, not the smoke... Why is everyone obsessed with smoke

  • y the low torque #'s

  • mother earth loves this truck lol

  • real trucks dont have sparkplugs

  • so thats running from straight from downpipe? i see the stacks are not connected

  • That is not 900hp, that is a 24valve vp44 powered truck, the worlds most powerfull vp44 powered truck on fuel only was Gus' truck at farmboys diesel, and it made just under 900hp. And that was in 2009. This video was posted in 2008, and i can tell no nitrous was used or the smoke would clear up much more.

  • @boosteddiesel is there another video showin the engine bay? it could be a p-pump 24v conv

  • if that has twins it should clear out atleast some of that smoke.....?

  • whats with the black smoke is it normal and does it hurt the engine

  • @aspennator That means that truck has balls. When you turn the fuel up and other goodies they will pump that balck coal smoke. Its a good thing for a diesel.

  • wonder why we never SEE twin turbos,or compound turbo system,if i spent that kind of money on one i would show the engine and turbos,,,,,,,,,,,

  • Diesels are actually much more efficient than gasoline and are capable of emitting less pollutants. You can lean a diesel right out and it still produces decent power. I love my diesel and I love the power, but honestly I don't understand why all these dyno princesses need 800 hp and 1500 lbs/ft. Your frame and brakes can't even handle what that kind of power is capable of pulling. My '01 has an estimated 450 - 500 hp and probably about 800 lbs/ft and it pulls everything I need to.

  • If that truck is actually "twin turbo'd" or compound turbo'd it would clear up alot of that diesel smoke so im gonna have to disagree on twins... nice truck tho but def not twin turbo'd

  • @Deepinher01 not all setups are created alike... and it sound like he let out eraly before peak boost or power was produce

  • @Deepinher01 not really that is governed by the air/fuel ratio not the number of turbos

  • this thing had better have like a 4 second 0-60 or else its a complete waste of money

  • I usually dont judge people i dont know but sometimes you just have to call Bullshit. If this engine was making 900 hp it would be making damn near 2000 ft lbs of torque, might want to recheck your dyno sheet

  • wow

  • better tune so no black smoke and make more power!!

  • is those numbers fuel only or does it have nos/water

  • i think it shoudl have more torque if it has 900 horsepower

  • Dodge 4 lfie, I love diesels but its fucked up how all that smoke goes into our air ...that we breath...

  • @MPLSTORM Forest fires and volcanoes make more smoke than all diesels combined and soot settles remember. Although it is emitted it is not an emission per say but a carbon output.

  • @04Forester your on the right track from what i understand one SINGLE volcanoe erruption like mt saint helens expels more pollutents then all combustion engines ever made combined. for all you hippies im pretty sure mother nature can take care of herself

  • way then all u bitchs sain a my cummins cant push 950hp fuck u it does and over

  • i would sure like to hope this cummins makes over 1000TQ with 900hp! lol hes probably around 1800-1900TQ man i cant wait to get my 00 cummins on the dyno!

  • god i really love it when people who think they know diesel but turns out they dont that just makes my day they are all a bunch of haters who are stuck on pussy gas

  • @DieselPower597 i know its funny as hell to make them look retarted in front of everyone that looks at the posts.. On my days off i get my entertainment from making them look stupid

  • @DieselPower597 tell that to this retard ive been goin back and forth with! dumbass doesnt even own a diesel but hes the expert you know

  • @Txpsd9673 Dumbass...!

  • however, having it roll coal like this allows for it to run cooler. too much fuel keeps the pistons happy...same with a forced gasser engine

  • not at all running more fuel and or wasting fuel causes high egt's

  • ur not wasting fuel till it turns white bud. more fuel = more power

  • Comment removed

  • Wrong.. diesel has different combustion properties than gas. Lean is actually cooler. At idle a diesel's exhaust gas tempurture can be as low at 200degrees, compared to 1000ish for a gasser.

  • couldent of said it better. more fuel = higher EGT's less = cooler EGT's

  • correct

  • you mean less fuel is a happier engine

  • Smoke doesn't necessarily mean low power. Diesels have a stochiometric ratio (about 14.5:1) just like a gas engine, unlike a gas engine theyre able to run wildly varied A/F ratios. Like a gas engine they will make their most power at a ratio richer than their stochiometric ratio.

  • A diesel will start to smoke at around 18:1 and most are made to run leaner than this for that reason. So if all things are equal, same engine with a set amount of oxygen available, the smoking engine burning more fuel with a richer than stochiometric ratio will make more power than one running leaner with no smoke. EGT will be through the roof, but it will make more power. The only way to clean it up or lower EGT is either reduce power or add more air.

  • you don't know shit!. you gasser fucker

  • i have NEVER seen a diesel that doesn't smoke when you romp on the gas!

  • dude when it comes to diesel more fuel = more power thats how you make more power with diesels you add fuel then you address the air do some research on this shit jackass before you run your cock holdster

  • Someone doesn't know what he is talking about.... guess those guys making 200+hp per liter don't know what they are doing, because they have smoke coming out of the exhaust...

  • WOW URBEX ANOTHER FUCKING VIDEO UR SAYING FUCKING RETARDED INCORRECT THINGS ABUT DIESELS??? YOU OBIOUSLY KNOW NOTHINK YOU ENGISH PIECE OF STUCK UP SHIT i have seen so many videos of you saying retarded things about diesels. fuck of

  • do you think these guys care about fuel consumption when there tuneing them out 1000 +? i wonder why all the diesels that put out tons of smoke are the most powerful? and the ones that dont are really underpowerd? and it is not unburt untill it gets white. you my friend are and idiot. ever wonderd why everyone says your wrong? cuz you are. more fuel = more power. its differnt that a gas motor you silly fuck! alot of things are backward form a gasoline. or way differnt. do some recearch

  • @RM250D8rzr

No you are the idiot , black smoke is the loss of power ... ask any mechanic

  • @novachevyguy well i happen to be one. and i know alot of them. ask any mechanic. black smoke in a diesel is not a loss of power dum fuck. try telling that to sled puling guys putting out over 1000 hp.

  • @RM250D8rzr Well then you aren't much of a mechanic then..!

Black smoke is loss of power because it IS "incomplete burn" ..

Sled pulling trucks and tractors are a Totally different animal altogether..

Oh , And please learn to spell...

  • @novachevyguy how are they totaly diffent?......lol sounds like you dont know much about high performace diesels then eh?

  • @RM250D8rzr I do believe you are talking about yourself...

  • @novachevyguy last time i checked i wasent? maby tell me what the huge differnces are lol. and why these disel trucks shouldent be puting out any black smoke when sled pullers can. ??? hahah like really tell me

  • @novachevyguy huh? sled pullers different? how? there also "high performance diesels" just like this truck! for all you know this truck could be a sled puller! Do us all a favor and smack yourself in the forehead and say "man im retarded! I dont know shit about diesels!"

  • @Txpsd9673 So long as You do us the favor first..

  • @novachevyguy i think i have to dumb it down... its not a LOSS of power your not LOSING power because its smoking! its just excess fuel thats not being completely burned aka big ass injection pump. now if he put on bigger turbos it would use more of that excess fuel and add power but your still not LOSING power because its smoking the performance is not hurt from excess fuel no your an idiot.

  • @Txpsd9673 But it is Loss , What do you think all the extra fuel does to the engines power output..?

  • @novachevyguy goes right out the tailpipe dumbass quit tryin to act like you actually know jack shit about diesels because the more you post the more it seems like you dont.

  • @Txpsd9673 Oh I forgot , You are the expert here , I'm sorry...

I'm sorry , But I think you need a basic education in how engines work before you post here again...

  • @novachevyguy "Oh I forgot , You are the expert here , I'm sorry...

I'm sorry , But I think you need a basic education in how engines work before you post here again..." Says the man who doesnt even own a diesel. Ya ive owned 2 diesels are my hobby and my life I think i know. You on the other hand might need to school yourself on the difference of a gas engine and a diesel "before you post again" smartass

  • @Txpsd9673 How would you know what I own and what I don't SmartAss..?

OOH wow , two "whole" diesels.? Wow I'm impressed.. I've been around the shit since I was eight years old , I think I know a few things..

And really Yes , I do think you need to find yourself a better education, You seem very narrow minded and ignorant to me...

  • @novachevyguy wow someones gettin defensive! sounds like your gettin all butt hurt keep diggin yourself into a deeper hole it seems to be workin for you!

  • @Txpsd9673 All "Butt hurt"...?

I'm not really getting defensive.., Just tired off dealing with a moron..

"Im Dakotah i live in the lone star state of Texas and love it. Basically just a redneck who loves to hunt, fish, and go muddin' "

Yup , just what I thought - redneck southern country bumpkin..

  • @novachevyguy @novachevyguy oh wow now i can really tell you dont know shit youve taken this about as far off subject as possible and makin personal attacks? guess what im damn proud of what i am this country boy most likely knows more about diesel engines than your daddy which apparently didnt teach you jack shit when you were a kid. Last time i checked those "redneck southern country bumpkins" are damn good at just about everything including workin on trucks. fuck off

  • @Txpsd9673 NO , You are good at getting drunk , dipping chaw and wasting fuel in your trucks ..

Why don't you fuck off... quit E-mailing/replying

You started the personal attacks now I'm finishing..

Yeah , I'll bet your "daddy" taught you Very well... lol

  • @novachevyguy last time i checked my state was one of the top ten wealthiest places in the world i think us southern boys know how to do a thing or 2 right. and hey im good at all those things as well! and matter of fact he did teach me very well like how to do everything yourself allowing me to gain knowledge in fields such as how a fuckin diesel engine works you fucktard..

  • @Txpsd9673 top ten wealthiest you say? , Then it must be at the bottom of the totem pole then.., That would explain why I can't find above minimum wage anymore..

  • @novachevyguy The Texas gross state product (GSP) for fiscal year 2009 was estimated at $1,244.72 billion in current dollars and continues to diversify, according to the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts (CPA). The Texas CPAs quarterly GSP estimates indicate that in 2009Q4, the Texas GSP was $1,249.31 billion. If Texas were a nation, its economy would rank as the 11th-largest in the world by Gross Domestic Product (GDP),

  • @novachevyguy according to the Texas Comptrollers 2009 estimates, which is the most current compilation available. International Trade Texas is a leader in the global marketplace. In 2009, for the eighth year in a row, Texas was ranked as the number one state by export revenues. Texas exports for 2009 totaled $163.04 billion.

  • @novachevyguy oh my bad 11th wealthiest economy in the world...

search "texas economy online" in google, 3rd link from the top heres your proof, read it and weep at this point you should just not open your mouth

  • @Txpsd9673 Who cares..

  • @novachevyguy stop makin shit up and ill stop provin you wrong

  • @Txpsd9673 for realz? , You mean you've been proving me wrong this whole time? , I didn't know that..

    Shit!

  • @novachevyguy yup just look at all the previous posts its just that simple.

  • @Txpsd9673 You must not have much of a life if you post here at nearly 4 am...

  • @novachevyguy well got the truck... check! got the girl... check! got the buds... check! got the job... check! I must say lifes pretty good if I do say so myself. jesus your runin out of things to argue about! how sad

  • @Txpsd9673 I'm running out of things? , oooookay..

  • tvoidt ! im the one who doesnt know what im talkin about but you said my truck(which is 3rd gen..which is the vp pump..which is the same as the truck above..2nd gen is 12Valve idiot)needs twin f***ing turbos and injectors and to unneccesarily rebuild my manual f***ing transmission to put 400hp to the road...you are the f*** up here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • oh and that doesnt count twins, or water /meth, propane, C.N.G. which adds more power and quite abit, fuel additives, internal mods(including a cam to widen the power band!!)

  • you can break 1000 easy in a vp! learn ur facts! the pump isnt bad the fuel system is, if you starve it dry it dies! they make 370 hp injectors for the vp! added with a 180 hp module and ur at 800hp and 1600+tq with to mods, you could get 100hp with an upgraded pump and no nos, the one with the most power spent the most money! and all that doesnt count an exhaust, intake, cold air intake, gear ratios, new intercooler, elctric fan and water pump, etc. so dont run your mouth without the knowledge!!!

  • lol wow guy...So you're saying with injectors and a tuner ONLY, you can break 800 horse power? Give me a fucking break. If you want anything more that 400 horse power to the ground with a 2nd gen 24 valve, you're going to need twins, injectors, and a trans. Simple as that. That's not counting all of the little aspects. So I would recommend that you educate yourself before you call others out on their lack of "knowledge" when you clearly suffer from a lack of it yourself.

  • OK boosteddiesel says this is a 24v I'll go with that. He's also right about smoke. It's unburned fuel which is a waste of money. I remember paying $4.75/gal here in Dallas last year so I made sure my motor only smoked if I was towing heavy. Is there a tuner out there that will prevent smoke? I haven't heard of one.

  • the edge juice w attitude smokes but not nearly as much as some of the other ones out there

  • Ok that's not a common rail motor my bad.

  • if you had 900 horse it would be twice the torque you say. prolly 900 lbft torque. my 12 valve has twin turbo with several mods in the engine and its only like 550 horse and it blows smoke like a bitch

  • CTT you canNOT be serious. 900hp in a common rail motor will make at least 1600tq. My 325hp motor makes 610tq bone stock. That's almost twice the torque.

I don't know much about 12 valves but yours should be making at least 900tq. And yeah they do smoke real bad with that old style injection.

  • i mean he probably meant 900tq instead of 900hp. Unless his is way modded and he used nitrous i dont think he could get 900hp

  • The 12 valve has always been the motor for big power. I've heard of 1200+ in these motors so I don't see why he couldn't be making 900hp very easily. He's got to be making WAY more than 1000tq if he's at 900hp though.

  • ok i got injectora and a juice w/ attitude and blow more smoke, so its not alot of smoke. second of all, listen to it, ill bet his slip says 900hp but ill bet its not on a load dyno so its not a true 900 hp

  • yea that's more like 500hp/1000ftlb! i know of 1 VP truck making 1000hp with a ton of nitrous!

  • That's pretty much the only way to break 800 hp with a VP lol

  • me too...Cummins Power on!

  • Yeah that is a 24v cummins and the highest fuel only hp 24v out there is just over 800hp. Smoke means nothing when it comes to power if anything that much smoke could actually be robbing hp.

  • if thats making 900 hp its at least making 1700 or 1800 ftlbs of torque

  • That's exactly what I was thinking when I read the description.

  • @3406Ecaterpillar I was JUST about to say that! good lord people these arent gas engines! btw i saw that little blue puff after he let off.... uh oh

  • @3406Ecaterpillar That's what I was thinking.

  • @3406Ecaterpillar someone cant do their math correcly..lol

  • @3406Ecaterpillar not towards you but to the video itself.......lol someone doesn't know their trucks very well I believe.

  • sick

  • 900 hp aint making just 1000ft\lbs dumbass

  • i would love to see the dyno slip the math doesnt add up and thats not 900hp hahah just alot of smoke

  • I love sounds and black smoke no matter how polluting it is

    rock on!

  • @RickArter DAMN STRAIGHT....ITS THE FUCKING BEST

  • @RickArter its soot not pollution

  • @fawn8907 If it's just "SOOT", why is the EPA getting so strict on Diesels? Why do they have to meet emissions, if it's not polluting?! I love Diesels as much as the next guy, but they do pollute a LOT.

"But when it comes to smog-forming pollutants and toxic particulate matter, also known as soot, today's diesels are still a lot dirtier than the average gasoline car."

Yeah, just soot! Toxic soot, that happens to be a pollutant! What a jackass.

  • @kcole939 no here in alaska we dont have emissions testing for diesels. and in 2012 were getting rid of emissions testing for all vehicles!!!

  • @chinchillawrangler I just read up on it, and it's due to the fact that Anchorage has met all federal clean air standards for carbon monoxide since 1996.

That still doesn't change the fact that diesel does infact add it's fair share of pollution. Matter of fact, as I was just typing that, a Duramax just cruised right on by my house and mashed on the go pedal as soon as the 25 MPH zone ended. I don't care though, doesn't bother me. I just wanted to point out that "soot" does infact pollute.

  • @kcole939 true true. i was reading too and some politicians in california are wondering why diesel cars arent as popular as they should be ands thats due to the soot they produce. it would be ridiculous to have to clean all of it up.
