  • Speaking of Scots this piece reminds me of that scence in Chariots of Fire where Eric Liddell wins the 400 metres. Not that the original soundtrack by the great Vangelis. Is'nt epic enough though.

  • oohhhkay this is freaking amazing but the beginning sounds so much like that wolfs rain song i had a hard time convincing myself it wasnt! none the less this song is awesome sauce.

  • @40dbelow0 Agh what is that song called?

  • guys can any of u give me a link to a song of the same gender plz

  • Parts of this piece sound like Klaus Doldinger's theme from "Das Boot".. Doesn't it?

  • you know, musicians steal from, erm, BORROW, from each other all the time....

  • i am so enamored by this song...it keeps playing in my head when the song ends...

  • I was searching for beauty and found it in this song.

  • Who the fuck cares. They're both amazingly beautiful. Wolf's Rain was a good show and Craig Armstrong is a good musician.

  • Thumbs Up if Wolf's Rain brought you here~

  • omg i was listening to some wolfs rain ost and kept seeing comments about this song relating to face on, and they were right!!!! ಠ_ಠ

  • @IamTheBiggestAssholeEver stop disliking good music

  • who cares if one copied from the other there both great

  • by the way Craig Armstrong is a very good friend of my dads. He wrote this song. It belongs to him. He owns it. If you don't believe me that's your problem but I know for a fact it's his. And btw he is possibly the nicest guy you could ever meet.

  • They say there's no such place... as Paradise. Even if you search to the ends of the Earth, there's nothing there. No matter how far you walk, it's always the same road. It just goes on and on. But in spite of that, why am I so driven to find it? A voice... calls to me. It says, "Search... for Paradise."

  • Did Yoko Kanno plagiarize or sample this?

  • Comment removed

  • Pwetty :3

  • One word: Cried

  • Man why does everyone with the last name armstrong do epic stuff?

  • @LuisDisc LOL

  • @LuisDisc Holy shit....Louie, Neil, Lance, Craig. Armstrongs for the mf win.

  • @LuisDisc I have a friend whose last names armstrong, he's not that epic.

  • simply inspirational.

  • besides Yoko's "stealing", i believe Craig Armstrong " stole" this "Finding Beauty" from somewhere else,........... ,..Only few people can create in this world....

  • @PeachCatHill Lol you need to do your research.

  • Some people on here are ridiculous, Armstrong wrote this piece before Wolf's Rain even started airing, plus tbh, Face On is a pretty shit fail of a rip off anyway... doesn't even come close to the beauty of the original

  • This sing is more than amazing it's magnifico!

  • Yoko Kanno has been known for stealing tracks from others. For example, Stealth by Way Out West. Simple Google search you guys.

  • @thakurupted Face on for Wolf's rain too ;))

  • master of arts this song is demolishing but who is THE ORIGINAL OWNER of this ?

    yoko or craig?

  • Paul is beautiful.

  • @lostalex77 <3

  • super

  • 787,420 veiws?! Why is it showing only the times ive listened to it?! D:

  • lisend to it over 3000 times not kidding three-zero-zero-zero really the most beautiful song i've ever heard

  • @LordVsdavid Oh yeah, well I've listened to it OVER 9000!!! times...

  • Is it just me or it slightly remembers the donkey kong theme?

  • it sounds like the end theme to tekken tag tournament

  • song still going strong in 2011 *smiles*

  • this is the most beautiful thing i have ever heard.

  • Face On was like 6 years after this...

  • at first i did thik this was stolen from yokko but i researched a bit so yokko could have done a copy right deal with craig so quit talkin crap about anime when u barely kno much about it . this version is better tho

  • Damn anime crap steals music and modifies it to be worse damn asian niggas!

  • This comment bears no ill will or insult on Craig Armstrong or Yoko Kanno. What bothers me is the fact that just because "Face On" from Wolf's Rain has the same sound as "Finding Beauty", doesn't mean "Japanese steal other people's ideas and present them as their own"... It's unfortunate how the anime industry is given a nasty look when "this sounds just like this" happens. Stop these arguements and enjoy the song. Seriously, I think both pieces are beautiful. Thanks for uploading, inthesilence.

  • @SAiLORmARs08 Besides, for all we know, both pieces are unrelated and were both inspired by an even older song, I've heard some of the themes in these songs before

  • this is like from wolf's rain! ost 2 face on!

  • Can't stop listening. It's great.

  • To all the people mentioning that this song was used in Wolf's Rain- stuff like this happens all the time in anime. Hellsing has a track that steals the chorus from "Ave Satani", a song written for The Omen.

  • I find this song... empowering. I also like Kanno's stolen version of it. (see Face On)

Craig Armstrong is a genius in music, no doubts there, I trust?

  • Does anyone else think it sounds like Zelda: four swords, when you go into the forest at night?

  • MY ANIMES!!@@##

  • This song is so great.. I can listen to it anytime

  • OMFG!!!!!! This is the song they used in "Enchanted Forest" segment on the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show 2009!! So excited!

  • Woa this song really sounds like the OST from Wolf Rain the Anime ._.

  • On the contrary, I hear this melody every evening when I get ready to listen to my favourite "L'Humeur Vagabonde" on France Inter. Surprisingly enough, my favourite composers are British e.g. Michael Newman. It's a paradox that in a country proud of its "splendid isolation" you can find individuals with an European soul :)

  • Great record, brilliantly made. Shame about all the faggot comments on this video. "makes me feel like I'm travelling through endless space" Jesus fucking Christ, shutup.

  • @TheYTChronicles You are mad bcoz someone tried to describe her feelings? Good luck in life man!

  • @TheYTChronicles

Well being Humans we are prone to using hyperbole and analogy when we hear a piece of music we like. Maybe if you did the same. You would enjoy music & literature more.

  • @JONNOG88 lol those are just words you we all remember from English lessons back at school. You have no idea what you're talking about :L But yeah, point taken bro, I'm not actually bothered! It's all a bit trivial now is it not ;)

  • @measmyself1 The piece from Wolf's Rain sampled bits from Craig Armstrong's song.

  • this song sounds like it should be in a Final Fantasy game

  • This is pure beauty.. Makes me feel so much, so alive.. Cant stop listening to this and its pure motivational spriit fulfilling goodness :)

  • any other songs like wolf rain-face on and this? very powerful piece of music would like to hear similar stuff

  • @bhav213 watch?v=PO2kZI8c4tY - try this. And also craig armstrong's "weather storm"

  • Love it so much!!!!!!

  • just breathe and enjoy the music

  • So they used this song in Wolf's Rain, what's the big deal?

  • While this music is absolutely mesmerizing, I think the digital enhancements like the electronic beats aren't necessary. Leaving the violin like it is I think would be best. His composition without the computer is great :)

  • The Wolf's rain song is good. This is good. Stop fighting :|

  • This is a song to fall in love to.

  • This is a song to fall in love to.

  • Lovely. So Lovely, my heart skipped a beat.

  • Oh... This is beautiful.

  • So a well-known and critically-acclaimed Scottish composer time-travelled two years into the future to steal a melody from some anime show about wolves?

  • @bszyperski Nobody said anything about him stealing music. They're both just very similar. There are so many songs out in the world that it's probably nearly impossible to find one that is completely unique and has a melody that is not similar to any other song.

  • @bszyperski No, but the person who directed the anime may have used this song.

  • Comment removed

  • @bszyperski Pretty much.

  • @bszyperski Don't talk bad about wolves.

  • @BaltoHusky345 Cause they sparkle? Oh no, that's vampires xD

  • @bszyperski

I was thinking the same thing!

  • @bszyperski HAHAHAHAHAHAHA HOLY SHIT!!!

Hahaha makes my day! Thanks man!

    hahahahaha

  • @bszyperski its called Wolf's Rain and its one of the best animes out there! so it doesn't matter who came up with this epic melody first it matters that it actually has come to be and that were able to listen to it >:D

  • @natalieann4 what do you mean it doesn't matter? Armstrong wrote the music and then they used it for the soundtrack. It's that simple

  • @NowTubeYou not really yoko kanno composed the music ''face on'' and that was in 2006. unless armstrong traveled back in time. the original piece was from yoko.

  • @natalieann4 Well, that's just simply incorrect. "Finding Beauty" was released in 2002 as part of the "As if to Nothing" album. "Face on" (the Wolf's Rain OST) by Yoko Kanno was released in 2004.

  • @NowTubeYou i honestly...just dont care.

  • @natalieann4 agreed broski agreed

  • @Marine726 lol :) its truee

  • Love it, the...synthesizing? (Not too good on spotting) reminds me of a movie intro, the low low beat at the beginning is just like a heartbeat, and the strings put it all together! Even a pianist would like this!

  • @aminoacid1648856 I believe you think this because you heard something similar to this song on an anime first automatically assuming he stole it from wolf rain when this album came out 2 years before wolf rain so if you put it in that perspective wolf rain may have "copied" this

  • @aminoacid1648856 Mozart used other people's ideas all the time, are you saying he's not a great composer too?

  • @aminoacid1648856 As has been mentioned, this came out before Wolf's Rain my friend. Far before. Wolf's Rain may have borrowed from this. Simple put, but that does not belittle any party. Many composers and "artists" borrow from one another, though it doesn't make them any less.

Hey, sometimes it makes them "more".

...besides, I have to agree with another post. This being a thieft from the anime would require our composer to be a time traveler.

    Nice.

  • I have officially fallen in love.

  • Holy shit, this is the same as Face On from wolf rain!!!!:D

  • @GraceStacked Yep, the Japanese steal Intellectual property all the time and present it as theirs.

  • @GraceStacked no wolf's rain is the same as this, they stole this theme, but they have a right to. their wolves

    XD

  • @GraceStacked Wolf Rain reference!!! You made my day!

  • @GraceStacked yeah, its from wolf's rain. the ost is entitled "Face on" i believe :).

  • @GraceStacked just a little bit speed up but yeah i can totally hear it. i came here because of the comments of that video

  • @GraceStacked omg it is!!!!! and its awesome that it almost has a million views too !!! :D

  • Oh look... I found it...

  • This song is popular... well who would know?

  • this song is beautiful thanks craig armstrong

  • Plagiarism or not, I don't think someone deserves the title of "great composer" if they have to copy everyone else.

Especially since this song is now seen as "a song from wolf's rain" instead of Armstrong's own original work.

  • 26 People didn't find beauty.

  • 1:32 on.... I dont know if I can conduct, but god damn I imagined it

  • There's a slower version of this in Wolf's Rain at the end of episode 2 when Darcia takes Cheza. I heard this on Pandora and was like "OMG, that's from Wolf's Rain!" you should check it out.

  • I knew I remembered this song. It was used in Wolfs Rain. Such an epic song :D

  • @sethdarkwater For real?!! Which part of Wolf's Rain?

  • @Myran28 Answered by the comment below :) narutoluva2

  • I love this song. thank you to whatever talent show that had this as their main song.

  • holy cow

  • Crimen Sollicitationis

  • At least Yoko Kanno has good taste in what she samples

  • C'est tellement beau...J'aime vraiment..........

  • I am in love with music again thanks to this song

  • Wow and to think I was listening to the Wolf's Rain OST-Face On. I read a comment that someone posted there about this song and came here to have a listen. Not even 30 secs in and I was FLOORED by this stunning song. Major thumbs up for Craig Armstrong and this song.

  • Finding beauty...guess i just did.

  • Couldnt even make it past 1 minute without adding to favorites

  • @Metal404Head win!

  • song wins too hard. a mere human has made this track, but everything is perfect to me. this is music. =D

  • Very few musical pieces can make me cry straight from the first measure. And the ones that do make me tear up are the ones I know already. So this is the first one, that made me tear up a lot with just the first measure. T_T Holy crap! Bravo!

  • Best Song that has ever graced my ears:)

  • I have finally found this song, I have found beauty <3

  • I've been looking for this like FOREVER!!!!!!!!! Thanks for putting it on!

  • ....awesome song....!!!

  • If the electronic part was a little bit louder, it would be a perfect track. Still it is good. 5/5

  • @Amphetamine407 Normally I would say yes to that. But in this case, with the electronic part being the volume it is, makes this piece what it is. To me, it's more of a symphony than an ambient track. Of course I'm not saying you're wrong or anything, and I do understand why you said that. I'm part of an electronic music group, and we deal with this every day. But, at least to me, it sounds perfect. ^_^

  • THIS IS AN AWESOME SONG!!

  • THIS IS AWESOME SONG!!

  • my fav songs: 1st: requiem for a dream

    2: this

    3:escape

  • i ABSOLUTLEY LOVE THIS SONG!!!! <3

  • OMG i haven't fallen in love with a melody so much since the movie "the fountain"....i think this song beats it because it has suspence, and mostly sorrow but then when it picks up the pace there's this overwhelming combination of both fear and happiness!

  • I love how any anime music writers can steal someone else's music like Craig and anime fans will defend people like Yoko and Hideo Kojima when they are caught saying they are just sampling. Personally this is why I believe Japanese anime is full of no talent bums who steal western ideas and present them as their own.

  • @m4a153 Hmmm very harse word's from you my friend. To say that those in japanese anime have no talent is a bit crazy to say the least.Japanese composer's like yoko kanno & kenji kawai's music,is bound to sound very similar to western composer's,due to the fact that the music they are (CREATING)originate's from the west itself, and all they are doing is adding their own little flavor's into the mix,and from what i've heard of kenji kawai & yoko,i like the taste.Composers have talent, west or east.

  • @m4a153 ??? Hideo Kojima is a game director/designer. I'm not defending Kanno, she "copy-pasted" a lot of songs, but japanese music writers AND musicians in general are awesome. This is like saying that all italians have sex periodically with prostitutes because their president does it.
